Were England fans right to boo Wayne Rooney or does he deserve more respect?
Jack Beardwell: He deserves respect, Lampard and Gerrard played much later but were natural midfielders who were still contributing at 34+
Ian Shepherd: Rooney needs to decide if he wants to carry on and tarnish his legacy as the greatest England goalscorer. I'd keep him in the squad.
Rory Forrest: Striker to midfielder? Who else has done it? Shearer? Lineker? Owen? Wright? Nope! Rooney's selection makes NO sense!
Slovenia v England (Tuesday, 19:45 BST)

England captain Wayne Rooney is set to start tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia on the bench.
Barring any last minute injuries forcing a change of heart, manager Gareth Southgate will leave Rooney on the bench as England look to preserve their 100% record.
Southgate is due to give a press conference in Slovenia at 1830 BST this evening.
Rooney is England’s most-capped outfield player, making his 117th international appearance in the 2-0 win against Malta on Saturday.
However, his performances recently have been heavily criticised and the 30-year-old was booed by sections of the Wembley crowd at the weekend, when he operated in a deep-lying midfield role.

Lewis Hamilton may not want to explain his actions to the media any more - but Mercedes will want every little detail, writes Andrew Benson.
Here is a little extract - Perhaps this will tempt you into reading more...
They say that an elite sportsman should clear his mind of unnecessary distractions - Sir Jackie Stewart calls it mind-management. Hamilton, though, was not taking that approach in Japan.
There have been questions about how Hamilton handled the Singapore weekend where he was dominated by Rosberg two races ago, with it leaking out that he was "not really on it" there.

The death of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes was "inevitable" from the moment he was struck by a cricket ball, an inquest has heard.
The 25-year-old Test batsman was hit by a blow to the neck during a domestic match in Sydney on 25 November 2014.
He died two days later from a haemorrhage in the brain, spurring an unprecedented display of grief from Australia and around the world.
The five-day hearing is examining if his death was avoidable.

Former England captain Charlotte Edwards has joined Adelaide Strikers for the Women's Big Bash League.
Edwards, who made her England debut in 1996, retired from international cricket after being replaced as captain by Heather Knight this summer.
The 36-year-old has since led the Southern Vipers to the inaugural English Women's Super League title.
Edwards' new deal with the Strikers follows previous stints in Perth with Western Fury and the Scorchers.
The Women's Big Bash League is due to run in Australia from 10 December 2016 to 28 January 2017.

Sam Burgess has been named in the 24-man England squad for the Four Nations tournament, which starts this month.
It is the first time the 27-year-old has been picked by England since he returned from rugby union last year.
New coach Wayne Bennett has chosen four uncapped players: Hull's Scott Taylor, Castleford's Luke Gale and St Helens duo Jonny Lomax and Mark Percival.
Wigan's Sean O'Loughlin, captain for last year's series against New Zealand, has been left out because of injury.
Were England fans right to boo Wayne Rooney or does he deserve more respect?
Andrew Harvey: Fans shouldn't boo their own players, but we need a manager with the guts to say: "he's not what we need right now"
James Gibbins: Fans have the right to boo as they've paid their money for the privilege. Didn't see the whole game so can't comment on Rooney.
Paul Walsh: How else do fans let the management know they are unhappy with playing the wrong player for that position?
Paul - May we suggest writing a polite-yet-strongly-worded letter? We feel that would be the most British way to deal with it....

Championship footballer Rolando Aarons has been arrested after a fight broke out in a nightclub, the BBC understands.
Newcastle United winger Aarons was among nine people who were arrested and bailed after the brawl at the Livello night club in Newcastle.
The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
Seven other members of the group were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, Northumbria Police said.
Another was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, while one attended hospital with facial injuries, the force added.
Were England fans right to boo Wayne Rooney or does he deserve more respect?
Matthew Grayson: Rooney should be in the holding role. Holding the water, holding the bibs and holding down the bench.
Matt Flecknoe: Rooney didn't become our record goalscorer by playing in midfield, so play him as a 9 or 10.
Alex Chetwood: However bad he played, you can never justify booing own your own player, especially the captain.

York City boss Jackie McNamara is to step down in the next two weeks, once the club has found a replacement.
The former Scotland international had said he would resign as boss of the National League side if they failed to win away at Braintree on Saturday.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw with Braintree scoring a late equaliser.

Exeter head coach Rob Baxter has criticised the England set-up for overloading winger Jack Nowell.
The 23-year-old suffered a significant tear in his quad and is likely to miss the autumn internationals having become the latest player to get hurt during England's training camp in Brighton.
Wasps' Sam Jones broke his leg while Bath's Anthony broke his jaw.
"He was loaded pretty heavily on Monday, far heavier than we would have loaded him with his training," said Baxter.
