There is "still a lot of sexism" within British Cyclingpublished at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2017

Welsh cyclist Elinor Barker says there is "still a lot of sexism" within British Cycling, but it is not "blatantly obvious".

The 22-year-old's comments come after former Olympic champion Nicole Cooke said it was run "by men for men".

Cooke, 33, made the claim to a Culture, Media and Sport select committee in Westminster on Tuesday.

However, Barker told BBC Radio Wales Sport that there has never been a better time to be a female cyclist.

"Times have changed a little bit since Nicole's time," Barker said.

"I can understand her frustrations but, as much as there is sexism in sport today, there's not been a better time to be a female cyclist.

"I certainly can't complain about the amount of support."

    Sean DycheImage source, Getty Images

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has been speaking about the offer they have made for Hull winger Robert Snodgrass.

"Only to say there's a considerable difference between any kind of fee being agreed and any player joining," said Dyche. "That's the only news at the moment. Hull decided to go public with that. That's the way it goes. It's an ongoing situation. There's no imminent moment that the player is here or going to sign.

"In theory they gave us a chance to speak to the player and take it from there. I get the feeling there's a number of clubs who have been interested.

"The reality is I could be as confident as I want. If the players numbers don't work or he didn't want to come or another bid goes in even higher than our bid which I'm told there's a strong chance that that has happened then that changes everything.

"I think he's a good player. He's amongst many good players who we've been interested in."

An impressive England bowling display laid the foundation for a comfortable seven-wicket victory over India in the first Twenty20 international.

Expertly varying pace and length, England restricted India to 147-7, off-spinner Moeen Ali's 2-21 the standout.

Sam Billings took 20 from the second over of England's reply, with Eoin Morgan (51) and Joe Root (46 not out) completing the chase in 18.1 overs.

The second of the three T20 matches is in Nagpur on Sunday.

England will look to wrap up the series after putting in their best performance of a tour that saw them heavily beaten in the Tests and squeezed out in the one-day internationals.

Jamaica may appeal against the decision to strip the rest of its Beijing 4x100m relay squad of their gold medals after Nesta Carter's failed drugs test.

Usain Bolt stands to lose one of his nine Olympic golds after a retest of Carter's sample from the 2008 Games was found to contain a banned stimulant.

Michael Frater, Asafa Powell and Dwight Thomas also face forfeiting medals.

"We have to decide what the best legal process is," Jamaican Olympic Association chief Mike Fennell said.

"It is a team and we are interested in ensuring they are properly protected and given a fair chance of clearing their names."

Dean Smith says Saturday's FA Cup fixture is one the players and fans are relishing.

"It only took our fans two days to sell out the 6,000 tickets so we know that there is going to be great support there.

"It's as tough a draw as you could get - the current leaders of the land away from home - but it's one that we are excited for as well."

Smith revealed last week that star striker Scott Hogan has had his "head turned" by speculation surrounding his future with the Championship club but has reiterated the player will be available to play.

"Scott is available for selection. He has trained all week as he did last week.

"We made it abundantly clear after the game last week that my decision about whether he plays or not will be final.

"We have had offers from different clubs for Scott but all of them haven’t met the valuation.

"We keep our business strictly private and we will say no to people if we don’t think the value has been met."

Brentford manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of their FA Cup tie at Chelsea on Saturday.

The Championship side are lying in 15th in the table but Smith says they have been preparing for the game against the Premier League leaders the same way they would against any other opponent.

"We have analysed them, like we would for any game in the Championship, and it is one that we are looking forward to.

"We know their strength in depth: You only have to see who could play like Willian and Michy Batshuayi who cost £65 million combined.

"We know that it is going to be a tough game but it is one that we are looking forward to."

"He is seeing a specialist today," said Dyche. "It's a long period of rehab.

"He will definitely be out for the season, but he has come through it before, he knows the script. It is a blow for him and a blow for us."

Claudio Ranieri has been speaking to the media ahead of the East Midlands derby in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday.

He begins by discussing striker Leonardo Ulloa, who has been linked with a move away from the Premier League champions.

The Argentine's agent reportedly called Ranieri "a liar" for breaking a number of promises.

Ranieri said: "Leo is still injured – but now goes back slowly, slowly. I want him as he’s a good player, of course he would like to play more.

"If someone wants Leo they have to pay. For me he’s a good player.

"I spoke with him, he said what  the agent said is his matter, not Leo's matter. I think he will stay here with us.

"The agent said I was a liar – but I don’t want to respond to him. With Leo I always have a fantastic relationship. I understand him.”
