Arsene Wenger has until 18:00 GMT today to respond to a charge by the FA.

The Frenchman has been charged with verbally abusing and pushing fourth official Anthony Taylor during Sunday's Premier League game against Burnley.

Wenger said he will accept the charge, but will request a personal hearing.

"I have little more to add," he said. "I am big enough to stand up for what I do.

"When I don't behave like I think I should behave, I am big enough to say I am not right.

"I'm a passionate guy and I believe that I am completely committed in my job and want to win the football games.

"I don't know if I will be punished and how I will be punished. If I am punished, when I was sent off I was surprised."

Wenger has brought us some team news ahead of Arsenal's FA Cup game at St Mary's on Saturday.

Former Southampton youth player Theo Walcott will be back in the squad but, as we know, they lose Granit Xhaha through suspension. Mohamed Elneny is on Africa Cup of Nations duties.

Per Mertesacker and Mathieu Debuchy are back in full training from tomorrow leaving their midfield, in Wenger's words, "a bit short at the moment".

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been interviewed under caution by police following an allegation he racially abused an airline staff member at Heathrow on Monday night.

Arsene Wenger says he has spoken to the Swiss international, who denies the incident.

"He denied what he is alleged to have said," said Wenger.

Hurrah! Arsene Wenger has arrived and is speaking to the press.

    *Tuts and taps watch*

After Granit Xhaka was sent off for a challenge during his team's 2-1 victory over Burnley, Wenger said they felt it was a harsh decision.

"We talked about it, felt watching it again the sending off was harsh it was not a dangerous tackle. It was a clumsy tackle, he has to learn from that but I dont think he wanted to injure anyone. He has to learn from it. We lose him for four games in a very important part of the season.

"He is not naturally a great tackler. I think he is intelligent on the pitch. More the way he tackles is not convincing. I would encourage him not to tackle - to stay on his feet."
