Martial, Schweinsteiger and Shaw train away from main squadpublished at 13:58 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

Manchester United v Rostov (Thursday, 20:05 GMT 1-1 after first leg)

BBC Sport at the AON Training Complex

It was very interesting to see Anthony Martial, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Luke Shaw training on an adjacent pitch to the main group of Manchester United players this lunchtime.

The futures of all three have been the subject of intense discussion at times over the last few months.

United manager Jose Mourinho said in his press conference just over an hour earlier that Martial was 'out of his mind' for Thursday's Europa League encounter with Rostov. Martial missed the Chelsea game on Monday, when United were struggling for strikers, through injury.

Shaw was in the United squad at Stamford Bridge but did not even make the substitutes bench. Having all three on display at a time when media were permitted to observe training, seemed significant.

Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Alex Remiro has been taken to hospital after being hit on the head during a training session.

The 21-year-old, who is yet to make his debut for the La Liga side, was struck during Wednesday's training session.

"It was a great shock. He got hit very hard but it seems that he's OK," midfielder Benat Etxebarria said.

Remiro, who recently returned from a loan spell with second-tier side Levante, is Athletic's third-choice keeper.

Willoughby Court led from a long time out but Neon Wolf moved up to challenge and looked set for victory.

But Willoughby Court found more on the run-in to win by a head and give trainer Ben Pauling a first Cheltenham success. It was also sweet for jockey David Bass who fell during Tuesday's action but recovered for his second Festival win.

'We are excited by Douvan'published at 13:29 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    BBC Radio 5 live

Ruby Walsh says he "didn't get the rub of the green" yesterday, but couldn't ask for any more from his horses.

"This is our place to come and win and hopefully we will have more success, but we are well aware how hard it is here," he told BBC Radio 5 live.

"Bacardys is in good form. It is a very competitive race.

"Then we have Douvan, we have been very excited about him so far. What he needs is just not to have bad luck. We are delighted he's here.

"I'm realistic and know that some days he's going to get beaten. I just hope it's not today."

Neon Wolf, ridden by Noel Fehily and trained by Harry Fry, goes into the two mile five furlong day two opener unbeaten in his four career starts and is well-fancied.

Bacardys, who was third in last year’s Champion Bumper, leads Irish hopes for Ruby Walsh and trainer Willie Mullins – the pair combined to win last year’s race with Yorkhill – but Gordon Elliott, who had three winners on the opening day, saddles Shattered Love and the only mare in the race could be in with a big chance.

"The horse, hopefully, is an absolute machine. Ruby Walsh is on and I'm hoping he is close to a certainty.

"Hopefully he can get started today on Douvan. Normally it's Ruby Tuesday, but not this year."

Big gamble on Douvanpublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    Horse racing

Douvan is one of the stars of the Willie Mullins yard and victory would see him become the 12th horse to do the double of the Arkle Trophy and the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Someone has had £500,000 on the horse to win at odds of 1-5 but Douvan's millionaire owner Rich Ricci tells 5 Live that it wasn't him!

"It is the worst day because of the weight of expectation," he tells John Inverdale. "You are anxious and hope he wins and gets home sound.

"I watched Douvan win last year but today I won't watch. I'll keep my head down, listen intently and try to get him home in my mind."

Punter bets £500,000 on Douvanpublished at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    Horse racing.

Yesterday a male punter placed a bet of £400,000, at odds of 1-4, on favourite Altior in the Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices' Chase.

It came in to earn the punter £100,000. Well, the same person is at it again, this time putting HALF A MILLION POUNDS on favourite Douvan to win the big race of the day - the Queen Mother Champion Chase. The odds are 1-5 and he will collect an additional £100,000 if Douvan wins.

    Crikey.

'Perfect' ground at Cheltenhampublished at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    Horse racing

If you saw the pictures from Cheltenham from 5 Live duo John Hunt and Cornelius Lysaght earlier, you might not be surprised to learn that the going at Prestbury Park is now Good to Soft, Good in places.

"There has been no rain since Sunday. We have had a dry night and another heavy dew and the forecast is for dry and warm weather with sunny spells today," says clerk of the course Simon Claisse.

"This is what we describe as groundsman's ground because it is perfect from a horse's point of view, really safe ground, but the horses haven't really made a mess of it because the grass is so strong."

    BBC Lancashire Sport

Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray says last night's draw with Fulham was a result of his side's "effort and desire".

Rovers are unbeaten in six games since Mowbray replaced Owen Coyle at the helm of the Championship club.

Lucas Joao's injury-time equaliser moved Blackburn one point above the relegation zone.
