Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex has been chatting to BBC Radio 5 live about his horses, of which he thinks he currently owns 12.

"I took Cathy (his wife) to this festival for our anniversary and then coming down to London she was always on about me being obsessed about my job - I said 'do you think we should buy a horse?' and that started it.

"It is a great relaxation, a great occasion at Cheltenham, they are fantastic days. A few of the lads go together and we really enjoy it. Last night was very enjoyable!"

Among them is Sir Alex Ferguson, who seems to be having a great week with former Manchester United captain Bryan Robson.

It's Ladies' Day today, Might Bite's colours wouldn't have won a prize. But what a great race.

You thought he was going to hack up by about 10 lengths or so. But that's the joy of racing.

That's never nice news to bring you.

But let's concentrate on the last race for a second, and Might Bite's somewhat dramatic win.

"I thought it was all over. Easy street. But we know it can all go wrong.

Might Bite had it all the way coming up to the last fence, made a hash of the last and started to go right across the track. It's on the nod.

I have never seen a horse drift across after the last fence, you could see he was weary. It's like staring into the abyss coming up that hill.

Nobody will be more relieved than Nico de Boinville to beat his stablemate.

Last year, Alpha Des Obeaux finished second to Thistlecrack in the World Hurdle and made a good start to his chasing career but suffered burst blood vessels last time out and has had a break.

He is trained by Mouse Morris who has Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grand National honours to his name.

Nicky Henderson will hope to add to his tally of winners with Might Bite who had a heavy fall at Kempton in December, while Acapella Bourgeois could give Sandra Hughes a first Cheltenham success.
