Well, well, well. The big money was on Douvan, but Ruby Walsh's ride never really looked comfortable.

Special Tiara led early on and managed to hang on under pressure from Fox Norton at the finish.

Douvan, it turns out, is not invincible.

As you may have seen earlier, someone has put £500,000 on Douvan to win at odds of 1-5 to win. If the odds-on favourite wins, they will land £100,000.

I wonder how they are feeling now!

Can anyone beat Douvan?published at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    Horse racing

    BBC Radio 5 live

Trainer Kerry Lee saddles Top Gamble in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at 15:30 GMT after owners paid £17,500 to enter the race late on.

I don't think too many of us realistically think we can beat Douvan, but everything is a probability here. There are still fences to jump," she tells 5 Live.

"There are a lot of trainers coming here with more festival runners than I train horses, so to have a horse big enough to compete in a big race is important for our stable."

    BBC Radio 5 live

Katie Walsh on BBC Radio 5 live: "You have to ride to win, you don't know what Douvan is going to do. There is no point in thinking about second or third place, but within reason.

"You cannot make your horse go faster than it can, so you have to get into a rhythm."

For this feature race on day two, the odds-on favourite, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Ruby Walsh comes here with nine wins out of nine over fences.

Mullins and Walsh have yet to win a race at this year's festival - can they get off the mark in this one?

One interesting note is that despite his many successes, Mullins has never won this race.

The likes of God’s Own and Fox Norton look likely to battle it out for the minor places.

Monaco v Manchester City (19:45 GMT, City lead 5-3 after first leg)

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who takes charge of his 100th game in Europe, has no new injury concerns for tonight's game in Monaco as City look to hold on to their 5-3 lead.

Striker Gabriel Jesus (foot) and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan (knee) are the only senior absentees.

Captain Vincent Kompany will hope to feature for only the second time since November.

Monaco's Radamel Falcao, who scored twice in the first leg, remains a doubt after suffering a hip injury in the latter stages of Saturday's 2-1 Ligue 1 victory over Bordeaux.

    Supasundae, absolutely fabulous.

He's been able to break away from them before the last which is always fantastic.

It wasn't a particularly quickly run race, which probably suited the horses in front.
