Fayonagh's dramatic winpublished at 17:41 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    Horse racing

It's a second win of the day for Irish amateur jockey Jamie Codd after the fast-finishing Fayonagh overhauls Debuchet late on to win the Champion Bumper.

Codd's mount made a very slow start and was at the back of the field for much of the race but came through well for a fifth win of the meeting for trainer Gordon Elliott.

    17:30 Weatherbys Champion Bumper (2m 1/2f)published at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    Horse racing

A victory for Quick Grabim in the Champion Bumper would be incredibly emotional.

The five-year-old, who is around a 20-1 shot, is trained by former jockey Robbie McNamara, who was left paralysed below the waist after a fall during a race in April 2015.

McNamara, who rode two winners at the 2014 Festival, has made a successful switch to training and this will be his first Festival runner as a trainer.

Quick Grabim, who will be ridden by Noel Fehily, won a Bumper at the Christmas meeting at Leopardstown but ran disappointingly last time at Exeter.

You can read more about McNamara's story  on the BBC Sport website.

The final race of the day is coming up shortly and this is a flat race run under National Hunt rules, so no starting stalls and a trip of just over two miles. Willie Mullins has won this race eight times and his hopes are led by Carter McKay, who has won his last two outings, and who will be ridden by Mullins’s son Patrick, a two-time Bumper winner himself in 2008 (Cousin Vinny) and 2012 (Champagne Fever)

But another family combination could be the spoilers – Dan Skelton trains Cause Toujours while younger brother Harry rides the five-year-old. The pair are sons of Rio 2016 equestrian gold medallist Nick.

Disappointment for Lingerpublished at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2017

    Horse racing

And what happened to Linger, who was the subject of such a big gamble before racing?

The horse, who was 25-1 in the morning and went off at 7-1, was in the lead in the early stages but dropped down the field and was eventually pulled up by jockey Rachael Blackmore a long way from home.

"This is fantastic - I'm slightly speechless," Flying Tiger's jockey Richard Johnson told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"Lizzie Kelly has done a lot of work to get him settled but this race really suited him.

"This is the main week of the year and all of the races are so hard to win."

Richard Johnson will be over the moon. He got a good run with that.

You do have to feel a little bit for Lizzie Kelly, she had ridden this before and she could have had the choice, but great for Richard Johnson.

The winner is trained by Nick Williams, who was claiming his first Cheltenham Festival win and who is the stepfather of 5 live pundit Lizzie Kelly, who regularly rides this horse.

It certainly isn't too often that champion jockey Richard Johnson rides a 33-1 chance.

And there's another big field (22 runners) for the penultimate race of the day which is for four-year-olds, and again, plenty have chances. Top weight Divin Bere for the in-form Noel Fehily and Nicky Henderson has looked good this season.

Henderson also has Domperignon Du Lys and Percy Street.

However, Paul Nicholls has a good record in this race with wins in 2016, 2015 and 2010 and saddles both Dolos and Dreamcatching.
