Simon's going to stick around for training, too. So he may get a chance to see Pogba in action.

Who knows, he might even get a call up if Mourinho's striker shortage is as bad as he says it is.

    Then again...

There has been a social media frenzy around Paul Pogba since his world record £89m arrival at Manchester United from Juventus in the summer.

Yet the elaborate unveiling with Stormzy, the personal emojis and the dabbing have not been matched by Pogba's performances on the pitch.

Asked about his star signing this morning, United manager Jose Mourinho was ready, taking aim at Pogba's critics by claiming they are envious of his vast salary and that he is worried what such a rush to judgement of a player who has moved countries at a young age in order to get the most from his talent says about the current generation.

Mourinho's pay-off was classic. It was delivered in slightly more elaborate language but effectively said Pogba does not care.

One person whose 2017 Cheltenham Festival has ended is jockey Willy Twiston-Davies who will undergo further scans after fracturing two vertebrae and cracking two ribs in a fall on the first day of the Cheltenham Festival.

He fell from Foxtail Hill, who is trained by his father Nigel, in the concluding Close Brothers Novices' Handicap Chase and although he walked into the ambulance at the track, subsequent scans showed the injury was far worse than first thought.

Twiston-Davies senior said: "He is going for another scan at the Gloucester Royal Hospital. He has broken two ribs and his T8 and T9 vertebrae. "He does sound a bit miserable because of the uncertainty. The horse is fine, he is just a bit bruised."
