Klopp determined about targetspublished at 10:05 British Summer Time 17 July 2017

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is determined to sign his top targets ahead of the new season.

The Reds have already recruited winger Mohamed Salah from AS Roma and striker Dominic Solanke, whose contract expired at Chelsea.

Klopp also wants to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita. "We pretty much have all you need. But at the end it is still business," Klopp said.

"You go out and see the car that you have been dreaming about your whole life... you say 'here is the money' but they say to you 'I don't want to sell the car'. You say 'but I have got the money' but they say 'I don't want to sell'. "They say 'go for another car in another colour' but you say 'that's okay but I want this'. Things like this happen in life, not only football."

'Leave Sanchez alone'published at 09:50 British Summer Time 17 July 2017

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez should be left alone to decide his future, captain Per Mertesacker says.

Speculation continues about the Chilean's future plans. Sanchez, who was Arsenal's top scorer last season with 24 league goals in 38 matches, is entering the final year of his contract and is yet to sign a new deal.

"He needs a break now," defender Mertesacker told reporters during the club's pre-season tour in Shanghai, where the Gunners are on pre-season tour.

"He needs to relax. He has done a lot for us. He played almost every game last season and then the Confederations Cup."

Arsenal play Bayern Munich in a friendly on Wednesday (12:20 BST) in Shanghai.

What a day for Lewis Hamilton at Silverstone.

Hamilton says he "did not expect to come away only one point behind" as Sebastian Vettel's late puncture dropped the Ferrari driver from fourth to seventh.

But the Mercedes driver said it would be premature to call his British Grand Prix win a key moment of the season.

"It's difficult to ever say it's a turning point," he added. "Ultimately, there's constantly turns and the pendulum goes back and forth.

"Obviously the pendulum swung a little bit this weekend and I think that's only good for F1. It's only good for the fans, probably super-exciting for them to see the close battle that we're continuing to have."

Vettel said: "There is no reason to panic or to worry, but for sure we need to be aware."

Arsenal are growing less optimistic of signing the Monaco winger Thomas Lemar. The France international is a key target and they are still trying to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

But further departures from Monaco - midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea and the likely exit of left-back Benjamin Mendy - mean a deal for Lemar is looking increasingly difficult.

Arsenal's intention remains to keep last season's top scorer Alexis Sanchez, despite the Chilean going into the final year of his contracted and reportedly keen to leave.
