  1. Williams and Greenbank set to miss outpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 7 August 2018

    Swimming: Men's 200m backstroke

Bad news for Great Britain's Brodie Williams and Luke Greenbank in the men's 200m backstroke semi-finals.

Greenbank was fifth in his semi-final and is definitely out, while Williams is unlikely to race in the final as he is only a reserve after not qualifying automatically.

    Swimming: Women's 100m backstroke

    Rebecca Adlington
Double Olympic gold-medal winning swimmer on BBC TV

Georgia Davies has said herself that the 100m is the one she focuses on because it's an Olympic event, and because it helps her prepare for the relays.

But I don't think she should be too disappointed with silver. She's swam a great race and she's come on so much in the past few years. She's become much more confident since she started training in Turkey and she's finally getting the rewards for all her hard work.

  7. 'Proud's swim was perfect'published at 17:09 British Summer Time 7 August 2018

    Swimming: Men's 50m butterfly

    Mark Foster
Former freestyle world swimming champion on BBC TV

Ben Proud's swim was perfect, for him. It was so close to his personal best and his start was phenomenal.

He was always putting Govorov under pressure but he just pulled it back. It's a great silver medal for Ben.

Proud is been competing consistently at every meet, and he's got a good set up in Turkey and a good coach, so there's more of him to come.

British silver medallist Georgia Davies speaking to BBC: "I am pleased with that swim and to be on the podium again.

It is a reverse of the 50m result as Russian Anastasiia Fesikova, who was second to Davies at the shorter distance, takes the gold.

"I am happy. I definitely trained more for the freestyle. The butterfly is one that comes more naturally to me. I do love the event so if I can get even faster, I'll be really happy."

It has already been a golden championships for Georgia Davies, who won the 50m backstroke and also helped Britain to gold in the 4x100m mixed medley relay, and now she goes in the 100m backstroke final.

But she has work to do as she qualified sixth fastest, with Russia's Anastasiia Fesikova, a silver medallist in the 50m event, qualifying quickest.
