Right, straight back into the fray and a proper intriguing final.

Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake and Adam Gemili were both part of the British 4x100m team that claimed gold in London.

Individually though they have both tasted major championships missing out on podium places last summer and at Rio 2016 respectively.

Neither looked super strong in the semi-finals.

The world champion Ramil Guliyev, Switzerland's Alex Wilson and Spain's defending champion Bruno Hortelano are real threats.

Look out for Leon Reid, finally confirmed for Ireland, in lane eight.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson speaking to BBC Sport: "I wasn't sure what to expect at this competition or what would happen. To get pretty much a season best in each event, I'm happy with that.

'I've been in two minds about it, I've not been nervous but I was aware that the competition has got a lot stronger and I needed to up my game - but also not to be afraid of anybody because it's my own performances and I have my own strengths.

"I just hope to continue and do one event at a time."

KJT is almost 6ft and she is looking lean and mean.

She is looking like a different athlete. She is looking the part and we are going to see a battle all the way to the 800m.

You've got two athletes who are both going for their own little hat-trick, KJT wants to add to her World Indoor and Commonwealth Games titles and Thiam her Olympic and World gold.

This is practically the World Championships for heptathlon.

A superb run, spurred on by the competition from Germany's Louisa Grauvogel alongside her.

Katarina will look up at the screen and want to know what Thiam ran.

She can easily run a second faster than Thiam and close the gap on her.

Our girl is in great shape and it's about asserting herself. Hopefully she can run in the low 23s.

    Heptathlon - 200m

Heptathlon leader Nafi Thiam has just gone in the third and penultimate 200m race in the heptathlon competition.

The Belgian world and Olympic champion runs in fifth in 24.81. That is short of her best.

She is two tenths down on her season's best of 24.61 and more than four tenth off her personal best.

A chink of light for Katarina Johnson-Thompson to prise open the competition?

    Women's pole vault

    Allison Curbishley
BBC athletics expert on Radio 5 live sports extra

We don't get long in this sport. If you get two Olympic cycles you're lucky, especially with the stresses and strains of the pole vault.

Holly has promised for so long. Of course we have the Americans but in Europe this is a strong event, and Holly at her best can be medal-winning.

Holly has always had a problem with the countback so clearing those first two attempts first time will give her confidence.

She is currently sitting in a five-way tie for the lead.

Clearing heights in as few attempts as possible can prove vital in the event of a count-back when athletes are tied later in the competition.
