In a major championship you've got to go with the mentality that you're there to win. Katarina Johnson-Thompson knew she was up against it going into this but this is where she needs to be really focused. She's in contention.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson has put herself in a fantastic position.

Thiam has been down on her usual position, she looked a bit sluggish.

To end the first two events 51 points ahead of Thiam is a really great way to go into the shot put, which is not Katarina's strongest event.

This will be an interesting event for Katarina as the pressure will start to build.

British pole vaulter Holly Bradshaw is hoping to break her 2018 outdoor medal duck in Germany.

The 26-year-old is feeling positive and determined to "enjoy" competing in Berlin.

"I am excited to try and win an outdoor medal because I haven’t achieved one yet this year" said the British record-holder.

Bradshaw has adjusted her run-up from 16 steps to 14, using smaller poles.

"It’s easier for me to get a good jump off 14 and on smaller poles because it’s my comfort zone," she added.

Holly is waiting to make her first entry into the competition.
