That's definitely woken up the Kansas City fans. They're in full voice as the Texans go three-and-out. They'll have to punt.

The place is jumping. It sounds like a Bundesliga game!

Jimboq29: Wow! The Texans are balling..... Jay bell!

Jon Boot-Handford: Jason Bell, have you given the Texans a pep talk today? They’re playing stupidly good football.

We've had plenty more messages from you but please remember to pop your name and location on texts people.

Kansas City Chiefs 7-24 Houston Texans

    Wakey wakey Arrowhead!!

On the next play Patrick Mahomes finds Damien Williams with a short pass to the left and the running back runs it in for a 17-yard touchdown.

And that's how quickly Kansas City can score. I think we have a game on our hands folks.

And tight end Travis Kelce has regained the ability to catch, taking a pass from Patrick Mahomes and running for about another 10 yards. The Chiefs are up to Houston's 17-yard line.

Mecole Hardman's shoulder has recovered from carrying that boombox into Arrowhead before today's game.

The Texans kick the ball to the Chiefs after the field goal and Hardman runs it back 58 yards before stepping out of bounds. Boy did Kansas City need that!

Rakesh Pradhan: Massive game now for Patrick Mahomes. He is going to have to do what Deshaun Watson did against the Bills. Its a tough ask but he is still the reigning MVP . He also needs his receivers to stop dropping the ball.

    Breaking

Kansas City Chiefs 0-24 Houston Texans

The Chiefs force Houston to a fourth down. The Texans take a timeout and decide to settle for a field goal.

Ka'imi Fairbairn makes the kick from 31 yards to stretch Houston's lead to 24.

    No, that's not a typo...HOUSTON LEAD KANSAS CITY 24-0!! And there's over 10 minutes till half-time.

Kansas City Chiefs 0-21 Houston Texans

Deshaun Watson hits Kenny Stills for 15 yards and another first down. Houston are up to the Chiefs' 22-yard line.

They're not going to score another touchdown, are they? This could put it to bed.

  9. Postpublished at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

The Texans still have it, with Deshaun Watson finding Houston's star receiver DeAndre Hopkins with a 13-yard pass for first down.

Rusty? The Chiefs look like they've just come back from the off-season, never mind a two-week break.

Three Patrick Mahomes passes go incomplete, and Tyreek Hill is shaken up after getting hit on the last play.

They have to punt for the third time in the first quarter...at least they got this one away, with DeAndre Carter running it back 11 yards to halfway.

    Breaking

Kansas City Chiefs 0-21 Houston Texans

Deshaun Watson runs it but is stuffed, short of the line.

No matter. He fires it into Darren Fells on the next play for a four-yard touchdown.

Ka'imi Fairbairn makes the kick and it's a 21-point game...and we've not even finished the first quarter!!

    It's a Houston ball!

It was Keion Crossen who recovered it...at the Chiefs' six-yard line.

  15. Chiefs fumblepublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Kansas City Chiefs 0-14 Houston Texans

This is definitely rust from the Chiefs. Tyreek Hill spills the punt and a posse of bodies pounce on the loose ball.

    Who'll come up with it?

  16. Postpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Deshaun Watson is then sacked by Frank Clark and the Texans have to punt from their own 44-yard line.

  17. Postpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Kansas City Chiefs 0-14 Houston Texans

The Texans are relying on their running game on this drive. That sets up the chance for Deshaun Watson to go over the top but his lofted pass towards the right sideline is just too long for Kenny Stills.

  18. Postpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Kansas City Chiefs 0-14 Houston Texans

That's more like it from Patrick Mahomes, He finds star receiver Tyreek Hill for 17 yards, then this time Travis Kelce holds on for 15.

But that's as far as the Chiefs get and they have to punt from Houston's 45-yard line.

The ball's back with Patrick Mahomes already then. What can last season's MVP muster?

Speaking of MVP, does last night's defeat for the Ravens affect quarterback Lamar Jackson's chances?

The winner will be announced on 1 February, the day before Super Bowl 54.
