Kansas City Chiefs 0-14 Houston Texans

What a start by the Texans. That's two touchdowns in two minutes, and they're 14-0 up with less than five minutes gone.

There's a long way to go but the Titans charged into a 14-0 lead at Baltimore last night and the Ravens never recovered. What was I saying about rest v rust?

    Breaking

Kansas City Chiefs 0-14 Houston Texans

Wow! Dustin Colquitt's punt is blocked by Barkevious Mingo - another classic NFL name - and Lonnie Johnson can't believe his luck as he scoops up the loose ball to run it in for a special teams touchdown from 10 yards.

The Arrowhead is stunned into silence. Who saw that coming?!

Deshaun Watson made four of four passes on that drive, to four different receivers. Over to you Patrick Mahomes.

Jimboq29: Hard to see how Houston can win at Arrowhead, but the beauty of these playoffs is that on any given day all the teams are beatable.

    Breaking

Kansas City Chiefs 0-7 Houston Texans

    The Texans aren't hanging around.

First play after the stoppage Deshaun Watson finds Kenny Stills on the left and the wide receiver has acres of space to run it in for a 54-yard touchdown.

    Where was the coverage?

    Ouch!published at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Houston Texans

Houston get us started by chipping away, running back Carlos Hyde with a two-yard carry before taking a two-yard catch for a first down.

There's then a stoppage as the Texans' offensive lineman Chris Clark hobbles off.

Dougles Dicksen: The Ravens played some first quarters and some first halves surprised they got this far. Used the QB a few times in fantasy team and even though I won the league gave me a scary quarters or 2. Chiefs pretty good during season, Watson can get away with a bad one occasionally.

  10. Rest or rust?published at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Kansas City Chiefs v Houston Texans (20:05 GMT)

Towards the end of the regular season, the NFL's top teams were battling it out to secure one of the top two seeds in their Conference and therefore a bye to the second week of the play-offs. But how much of an advantage is it?

The Titans played during wildcard weekend and the Ravens had a rest but when they met last night the sixth seed dumped the top seed out.

Meanwhile, the 49ers returned from their break looking fresh, brushing aside a Vikings team which looked tired after they won in overtime the week before.

So, the Texans also won in overtime last week while the Chiefs had a breather. Which way will this one go? We're about to find out.

JJ Watt was miked up for last week's game and it was quite something. He leads by example and gets his team-mates going too.

He'd get me to run at a brick wall. Obviously I'd bounce right off it but I'd still try.

The footage was featured on NFL This Week and you can watch it here on iPlayer, 45 minutes in.

  12. Watt's locked inpublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Kansas City Chiefs v Houston Texans (20:05 GMT)

We were told in October that the Texans' star defensive end JJ Watt had suffered a season-ending injury as he needed surgery on a torn pectoral muscle.

But he managed to recover in time for the wildcard weekend and was a huge boost for the Texans, helping them come back for an overtime win at the Buffalo Bills.

  13. Hardman arriving in stylepublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Kansas City Chiefs v Houston Texans (20:05 GMT)

Well, that's certainly one way for Kansas City's Mecole Hardman Jr to arrive at a massive play-off game.

    Nothing discreet about it, mind.

Come on Chiefs. Our offence has got to have too much for a suspect Texans defence tonight. Then, the Titans await. What a chance for Mahomes to take us all the way.

Green Bay Packers v Seattle Seahawks (23:40 GMT)

    Osi Umenyiora
    Two-time Super Bowl winner

I've said it before - I think Green Bay Packers are one of the worst number two seed teams I've ever seen. This is the end of the road for them and I think Seattle will beat them purely because they're the better football team.

Green Bay Packers v Seattle Seahawks (23:40 GMT)

    Jason Bell
Former NFL cornerback for Houston Texans

I'm going with Green Bay because they're playing at home. I'm ready for that Aaron Rodgers magic and, although both defences are poor, Green Bay's is definitely stronger.

Then later on two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks are going to head-to-head as Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers takes on Seattle's Russell Wilson.

We'll be wrapping things up before that game but here's how Jason and Osi see that one panning out...

Andrew Priestley: Even after the dust has settled on last night’s result it’s still scarcely believable that the Titans dumped the seemingly imperious Ravens out of the playoffs. Surely we’re not going to see another upset of that magnitude with the Texans at the intimating Arrowhead?

    Never say never, Andrew.

  19. New quarterback era?published at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

Kansas City Chiefs v Houston Texans (20:05 GMT)

And in the blue corner we have Texans QB Deshaun Watson. Not only was he born just three days before Mahomes in September 1995 but he has a similar style, with both comfortable on the ground and through the air, as you can see by these plays.

Watson, in particular, has pulled off some amazing feats of escapology this season. Osi Umenyiora even called him 'Woo-dini' on THE NFL Show last night, which you can watch on iPlayer right here.

  20. Changing of the guard?published at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

This year's divisional round is the first since 2008 NOT to feature either Patriots quarterback Tom Brady or Saints' QB Drew Brees.

Last night's clash between San Francisco and Minnesota was a bit of a damp squib with Vikings veteran Kirk Cousins no match for rival quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

But tonight we see two young guns go toe-to-toe. In the red corner we have last season's MVP, the Chiefs' 24-year-old quarterback Patrick Mahomes...
