  4. Chiefs aim to bounce back in Phillypublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

Kansas City Chiefs v Philadeplhia Eagles (18:00 BST)

Too early to panic? Probably – but the Kansas City Chiefs already know they are in for one heck of a fight to reach a third successive Super Bowl.

For once, they’ve been the ones on the end of high-scoring defeats, losing their past two games to the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens to slip to 1-2, having previously produced one of their trademark comebacks to beat Cleveland 33-29 from 22-10 down.

But with AFC West divisional rivals Denver and Las Vegas both 3-0, and the Chargers 2-1, Patrick Mahomes and co know the margin for further error appears to be small, even this early.

Tonight they travel east to take on Jalen Hurts’ unpredictable Philadelphia Eagles in what could be another thriller.

  5. Can purr-fect Panthers pass Prescott test?published at 17:51 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

Carolina Panthers v Dallas Cowboys (18:00 BST)

There are only five unbeaten records remaining in the NFL after three weeks of the season – and just one of those is on the line in our early kick-offs.

That flawless start belongs to the Carolina Panthers and new quarterback Sam Darnold, who have beaten his old side the New York Jets, division rivals New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans.

They might well have their toughest test to date tonight, though, as they travel to Texas to face Dak Prescott’s rejuvenated Dallas Cowboys, who lead the NFC East.

Dallas has shook off a narrow opening-night loss to Tom Brady’s Super Bowl winners Tampa Bay to edge out the LA Chargers before dismantling division rivals Philadelphia last week.

  7. Saints alive - New Orleans return homepublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

New York Giants v New Orleans Saints (18:00 BST)

It’s a pretty big game in Louisiana for both teams tonight – for very different reasons.

For the 2-1 New Orleans Saints, it’s a first home game in front of a capacity crowd for almost two years – while every other NFL team has enjoyed a home match in front of fans this season with Covid restrictions relaxed, Hurricane Ida thwarted them.

And while their temporary base of Jacksonville was a fruitful one as they thrashed the Green Bay Packers 38-3, there ain’t no place like home with Jameis Winston's Saints sure to be given a rapturous returning welcome.

Hardly an ideal scenario then for the visiting New York Giants, somewhat hard done by on 0-3 after two losses to last-second field goals against Washington and Atlanta, and in danger of seeing their season finish before it starts.

  8. Can winless quartet break their ducks?published at 17:44 British Summer Time 3 October 2021

Just five teams remain without a win in the NFL as we enter October – and four are in action tonight.

Jacksonville Jaguars fans will have to wait at least another week for their first win after they threw away a lead to go 0-4 by losing to Cincinnati on Thursday night.

Of the other four winless sides, three are on the road – the New York Giants at New Orleans (more on that shortly), the Indianapolis Colts at Miami and the Detroit Lions at Chicago, while the New York Jets welcome Tennessee.

Do you fancy any of that quartet to end their winless starts? Let us know via #bbcnfl.
