Oh my. Huge drop from 49ers safety Jaquiski Tartt.

Stafford lobs up a reckless throw, interception all the way and Tartt fumbles it.

What a let off for the Rams.

Next play, Jimmy Ward hits OBJ with his helmet and gives away a 15-yard penalty.

It was an attempt to draw the Rams offside, it didn't work and now the 49ers punt. Big drive for the Rams coming up.

Los Angeles Rams 14-17 San Francisco 49ers

The rulling on the field stands and the Rams are out of timeouts.

And the 49ers have decided to go for it on fourth down.

Rams coach Sean McVay has the challenge flag out. He thinks 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk fumbled on that last play.

The Niners have a second and 1, but are stuffed twice on the LA 45-yard line.

Eric Weddle, who came out of a two-year retirement two weeks ago, with a huge tackle.

The Rams a struggling to stop the 49ers right now. They need to keep them to a field goal at best really.

  7. Jimmy G cool under pressurepublished at 02:01 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

Los Angeles Rams 14-17 San Francisco 49ers

Deebo Samuel can only return the Rams punt to the 11-yard line, but Garoppolo produces a big play from the off, finding Eli Mitchell for 21 yards and then conecting with Samuel for a 12-yard gain.

  8. Kupp doing the business againpublished at 01:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

Los Angeles Rams 14-17 San Francisco 49ers

After a record-breaking season, Cooper Kupp has showed no let-up in the play-offs.

Nine receptions, 183 yards and a touchdown last week.

Eight receptions, 92 yards and two touchdowns tonight.

Key drive coming up for the 49ers.

Stafford goes back to Blanton again for a nine-yard completion taking the Rams to the 11-yard line and then hits, you guessed it, Cooper Kupp for the touchdown.

    Game on!

    Kupp was wide open there.

Here we go then. The last 15 minutes of play-off football this season.

We’ve had drama galore so far – anyone expecting anything different here?

The Rams have an uphill battle to get back into this one, but they certainly have the weapons.

    Well, that's silly.

San Fran's Azeez Al-Shaair is penalised for taunting Cooper Kupp after a catch - that's a 15-yard penalty.

A big boost for LA on a drive where you feel they must score to get back into this.

Kendell Blanton picks up a nice gain after a bit of a switcheroo with quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Rams are inside the 49ers' 20-yard line.

    End of the third quarter.

    Touchdown - 49erspublished at 01:43 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

Los Angeles Rams 7-17 San Francisco 49ers

Tight end George Kittle grasps a 20-yard pass from Jimmy Garoppolo to extend the Niners' lead to 10 points.

As we've seen in the play-offs this season, though - 10 points is nothing.

Nonetheless, with two minutes to go in the third quarter, San Francisco will be by far the happier team.

What an effort by Jauan Jennings!

The Niners wide receiver looks set to be tackled shy of a first down but a last lunge, despite a Rams defender holding on to him, gets him over the line to gain.

Brandon Aiyuk hauls in a bullet from Jimmy Garoppolo on third down and then Deebo Samuel does what Deebo Samuel does - evades tackles, beats defenders - to gain another first down and the 49ers are inside the Rams' 30.

Rams head coach Sean McVay challenges the decision but the officials' call is upheld on review and the 49ers have the ball in fantastic position just inside their own half.

Interesting. The Rams opt to try to pass on third-and-one just over halfway.

Fourth down and they are going for it. Quarterback sneak from Matthew Stafford - does he have enough for a first down? It's close.

He's short! Wow. What a key moment that could be.

A couple of big catches from one of the Rams' big names, Odell Beckham Jr, and LA have turned a tricky starting position into a promising drive.

Both of these franchises know, of course, what it's like to reach the Super Bowl in recent history - and both came out on the losing end.

The Rams lost to the Patriots in 2018 and the 49ers to the Kansas City Chiefs a year later.

LA's latest drive begins with a toss to Cooper Kupp but San Francisco are right on him before he can gain any yards, although cornerback K'Waun Williams suffers an injury as a result.

Oh, a couple of ricochets on a Jimmy Garoppolo throw and the 49ers are fortunate that wasn't picked off.

Instead it's fourth down and a punt, which Cooper Kupp catches on the Rams' 11-yard line.
