WOW! What have we seen here, first play of the quarter, Hurts unleashes a 45-yard bomb to AJ Brown, who makes a smart diving catch in the end zone.

The fact that the Chiefs have so many rookie cornerbacks may cause problems, and two of them then just looked the wrong way as Brown went to go for the long ball and ended up getting nowhere near the Eagles receiver.

It's another beautiful rainbow from Hurts too, exactly where it needed to be, but he's been doing that all season really, throwing a really good deep ball, one of the best in the league.

And breathe - what a first quarter that was, with a little bit of everything. AJ Brown catches a first down pass to end a pulsating first 15 minutes of the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs will be kicking themselves, they had Philly in trouble, but missed the field goal, then gave them a first down with a flag, and now the Eagles will be confident of taking the lead.

It's a third and four for the Eagles but the Chiefs give them the first down as Frank Clark gets his timing wrong and runs offside. That could be huge as if the Eagles didn't convert that time it would have made things tough.

KC can't go giving penalties like that away.

  6. Field goal missed!published at 00:17 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2023

Kansas City Chiefs 7-7 Philadelphia Eagles

Oh dear, Harrison Butker's effort hits the outside of the left upright from 42 yards and that could be a huge miss for KC.

The noise was pretty loud in here but even still that's no real excuse for missing a 42-yarder, you really can't miss them if you want to win the Super Bowl.

Almost an incredible completion from Mahomes, almost an interception, could've gone either way that third down play, either way it's a field goal try coming up.

Bet you can't guess who Patrick Mahomes completed a 22-yard pass to for a first down just now? Go on, have a guess?

    Travis Kelce of course...

The Chiefs advanced to their 47-yard line after a penalty on the Eagles. Philly just have to watch these now as playing clean has been part of their success this season and when you let the penalty count climb in a Super Bowl, bad things usually happen.

Chiefs receiver Juju Smith-Schuster has one million extra reasons to try and help Kansas City lift the Lombardi Trophy tonight - as part of his incentive-laden contract.

If he plays more over half of KC's offensive snaps tonight and the Chiefs win then he'll pocket a cool $1m bonus.

Let's see if Mahomes gets him the ball.

Kansas City Chiefs 7-7 Philadelphia Eagles

Osi Umenyiora, former New York Giants defensive end on ITV: "If you are the Eagles you do not want to be in third and long. They are a front-running team, they play better when they are ahead. Third and long - Jalen Hurts, we don’t know if he has the ability to produce those plays again and again."

That is not the response the Eagles wanted. Steve Spagnuolo is doing a great job of keeping the football in front of his defence.

Who have you got now then? We've seen both teams score and now the Chiefs get a stop, so who are you backing to win the Super Bowl from here?

    Thumbs up for Eagles.

    Thumbs down for Chiefs.

Wayne Ellis: Need to double cover Kelce, make the Chiefs’ average WRs have to beat you.

Andrew Priestley: Extremely passive defensive play from both sides early in this game. Offenses moving the ball at will.

Kansas City Chiefs 7-7 Philadelphia Eagles

Hello, a little bit of defence being played now all of a sudden, as the Chiefs swarm all over Hurts, almost get the sack and he's forced to just toss it away.

Frank Clark did superbly well there as Hurts could have run away with it a bit there but he cut the angle off and the Chiefs will get it back after a nice stop.

You don't get a lot of offensive pass interference penalties called, but we have one here on the Eagles to back them up 10 yards and make it first and 20.

Right, back to you Philly after the quick-fire TD from the Chiefs - and that textbook run into the corner for the end zone from Kelce. Much like the Eagles TD, you know it's coming, but how do you stop it?

Travis Kelce enjoyed that. He's used to belting out 'Fight For Your Right' on the victory podium and it was playing over the PA system as he shimmied in the end zone in celebration.

Looks like we've got a show on our hands here folks.
