Sam LaPorta only just made the game with a bad knee, but despite a pretty serious brace on his leg, the big tight end is able to move quick enough to get to the back of the end zone and take Jared Goff's pass for a third Detroit touchdown of the first half.

That's three drives and three touchdowns for Detroit as they continue a hot start to their play-off campaign.

Out of nowhere the Rams strike back and it's that rookie again Puka Nacua who collects a looping pass from Matthew Stafford, beats one defender for pace then spins around the other to find the end zone.

It's a 50-yard score from the Rams, coming on a third-and-one from halfway - that's some play call from Sean McVay and shows how aggressive teams get in the play-offs.

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was just the 177th pick of last year's draft, but he's been electric in a record-breaking season.

He caught 105 passes, beating Jaylen Waddle's rookie record from 2021.

More impressively though, with 1,486 receiving yards he beat the long-standing rookie record set by Bill Groman (1,473) back in 1960!

    Watch out for him tonight.

Matthew Stafford's story is just incredible. All the emotions that come with the switch. You're with a team for so long, and grow up with them.

Then he was traded and it was incredible for him to lead his new team to a Super Bowl.

10 players, 75 yards and an opening drive touchdown for the Detroit Lions, who are 17-6 over the last 23 games under Dan Campbell and have been pretty good in primetime games this season.

And by the looks of that first drive they mean business tonight.

Detroit cap a fine opening drive with a one-yard David Montgomery touchdown run to take an early lead - and make an early statement.

Lions fans have had to wait three decades for a home play-off game, but they only had to wait just over five minutes for their first touchdown of the game.

Nice start for Detroit, running it in chunks with David Montgomery before Jared Goff throws a laser to Josh Reynolds for 24 yards.

That wasn't thrown into a tight window, it was a small porthole of a gap Goff had to find, and he nailed it.

    Random stat alert!!

With Matt Stafford and Jared Goff having traded places in 2021, this is the NFL's first play-off game in which both the starting quarterbacks previously played for the opposing team.

Stafford may have won a Super Bowl since leaving the Lions for the Rams, but Goff was second in the league for pass yards this season, with just three QBs throwing more touchdowns, although he did play in two more games than Stafford.
