Two of the great old teams in the NFL, this will be the 10th play-off meeting between the Packers and 49ers - making it the most played fixture in the post-season.

This will be the fifth meeting in the last 12 years, with the 49ers winning the last four in a row to ensure they hold a 5-4 advantage.

The last meeting came in 2022 when San Francisco went to the top-seeded Packers and upset Green Bay on their home patch, could the Packers return the favour tonight?

San Francisco are big favourites tonight, and rightly so given their performances over the season - but Green Bay showed in Dallas last week that they can pack a punch.

This one will not be easy...

Last week Dan Whelan became the first Irish-born player to feature in the NFL play-offs in more than 40 years.

The rookie punter, who was born in County Wicklow before moving to California as a teenager, helped the Green Bay Packers stun second seed Dallas with a 48-32 win in Texas.

As the youngest roster to make the play-offs since 1978, the Packers have exceeded expectations this season and became the first seventh seed to win in the post-season - since the play-off format was expanded in 2020.

"It's a bigger one this week," Whelan told BBC Sport NI. "We have more games to play and we're not done yet.

"We've no doubt - and we've got nothing to lose. We just have to play our game and stay strong, and I think we will be all right. Once we get to the Super Bowl, then you can reflect on it all, but for now it's the 'Niners on Saturday."

Right, the top seeds in the AFC have done the business against young pretenders, next up it's the big dogs in the NFC trying to do the same.

The 49ers host the youngest team in the NFL this season and the Packers showed last week that they're dangerous.

  7. Battered by Baltimorepublished at 01:00 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

Houston's heavy defeat tonight sees them become the eighth team with a winning record get beaten by 10 points or more by this Baltimore Ravens side.

They've been taking the better teams in the league to the cleaners, with their seven such wins in the regular season a joint-record with the 2014 New England Patriots and 1929 New York Giants.

They've got a dominant defence, a stout run game, even a few receivers these days - oh and they've got the odds-on MVP favourite and x-factor Lamar Jackson.

So will the Baltimore Ravens win the Super Bowl? Tell us using your thumbs up or down buttons....

  9. 'It just feels different'published at 00:50 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Houston Texans 10-34 Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson was asked on ESPN about why this year felt different to other years when he's not been so successful in the play-offs.

"We've got a great group of guys, we've got a lot of vets on the team, more than in other years and we're just focused," said Jackson.

With team-mate Odell Beckham shouting out "MVP" during his interview, Jackson could well win that award again this season, but it's the Super Bowl that he really wants.

  10. Baltimore to host AFC Championshippublished at 00:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Houston Texans 10-34 Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens will host the AFC Championship game next week for the first time in their history - but the city of Baltimore has hosted it before.

That was way back in 1971 when the then Baltimore Colts hosted the AFC title match-up against the Oakland Raiders.

It'll be bouncing in Baltimore next week when they'll host the Chiefs or Bills.

A resounding success for the Baltimore Ravens is confirmed, with an unanswered 24-point blitz in the second half seeing off a brave Houston Texans effort.

Nothing in it during the first half, but the power running game and stifling defensive unit Baltimore possess just wore down Houston as the game went on.

And the icing on the cake was provided by Lamar Jackson two passing TDs and two rush TDs proving why he's the MVP favourite and why he can win play-off games with this team.

  14. Two-minute warningpublished at 00:31 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Houston Texans 10-31 Baltimore Ravens

It's run the clock down time now as we hit the two-minute warning with Baltimore now assured of victory and already we're wondering if they'll play the Bills or the Chiefs.

And would either of those be able to stop this juggernaut in Baltimore?

  15. Ravens will be tough to beatpublished at 00:30 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Houston Texans 10-31 Baltimore Ravens

Three-time Super Bowl winner Troy Aikman: "Whoever comes in here next week is going to be a heck of a match-up. It’s going to be hard for any team to come here, to Baltimore, and win.”

  16. Turnoverpublished at 00:24 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Houston Texans 10-31 Baltimore Ravens

Houston go for it on fourth down - they have to now, but CJ Stroud's pass is too high for Dalton Schultz and that should just about be that even with five minutes still left to play.

  17. Class tellspublished at 00:20 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Houston Texans 10-31 Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore were the much better team during the season, and although it took a half, they're not showing that and also showing the benefit of the extra week off as they look much fresher and stronger than Houston.

This young Texans team had a play-in game in their regular season finale, then that massive win last week and it's all just getting a bit much now - a few injuries, and a tired looking outfit.

  18. 'Ravens dominate teams'published at 00:16 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Houston Texans 10-31 Baltimore Ravens

Three-time Super Bowl winner Troy Aikman: "The Ravens have beaten a lot of good football teams and dominated them. This is a confident team and they can beat you in a lot of different ways."

Lamar Jackson, who else!? The QB gets a big man out in front of him to block and from there he's not going to miss out on a second run into the end zone.

He doesn't even stop there as he disappears off down the tunnel in celebration at all-but clinching Baltimore's spot in the AFC Championship game.

Two rushing touchdowns and two TD throws for Jackson tonight, who will claim just his second play-off win, but do it in style.

  20. Flowers showpublished at 00:13 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Houston Texans 10-24 Baltimore Ravens

Hard-hitting defence and smash-mouth running football is what Baltimore are known for, but rookie Zay Flowers has added a certain something to the receiver group.

It's been a problem for a few years for John Harbaugh but he's finally solving it with Flowers and Odell Beckham on the squad.

Flowers shows a nifty move to beat a man then h its the deck to keep the clock running as Baltimore close in on the end zone again.
