Action Jackson is off! Lamar hasn't done too much so far, but when he spots a gap he doesn't half shift!

It's a 23-yard scamper right down the middle of the field as Jackson shows just how he can flip the field in a blink of an eye - just when you think you've got him bottled up.

  2. field goal

Ka'imi Fairbairn shows he's got a decent leg on him as well as he boots a nice 50-yarder to level the game up.

It may not seem much, but that's an impressive drive from Houston given how well this Baltimore defence is playing and how long the crowd are.

A few penalties here and there caused by the noise from the home fans is a bit of a worry, but considering that, being level right now is a result for Houston.

  3. Almost picked!published at 22:08 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    Houston Texans 0-3 Baltimore Ravens

Kyle Hamilton bobbles and juggles a tipped pass meant for Brevin Jordan - who would have been off to the races had the ball got into his hands - but the ravens safety just can't haul it in.

Dalton Schultz did manage a nice catch before that to extend the drive as CJ Stroud just find a couple of nice passes downfield, but it's very hard work.

  4. Postpublished at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

Excellent work by Nico Collins to muscle his way to a first down, after tight end Dalton Schultz had dropped a bit of a dolly after CJ Stroud rolled out right and fired a beauty down the sideline.

  5. Ravens puntpublished at 22:02 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    Houston Texans 0-3 Baltimore Ravens

A good stop by this Texans defence as they force a Baltimore punt.

The Ravens' stars have had a few weeks off now, but the team entered the play-offs as the hottest in the league, winning six of their last seven games, and since week 11 having a +90 points difference!

"It seems like the crowd noise is becoming an issue for Houston and if you’re creating problems for yourself, this Baltimore defence is really going to be a problem" - Ndamukong Suh, 2021 Super Bowl winner, on Sky Sports

  7. Puntpublished at 21:54 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    Houston Texans 0-3 Baltimore Ravens

A combination of the Ravens defence and the home crowd manage to stop Houston getting points there, as a second false start of the game knocked the Texans out of field goal range.

With hardly any away support of note that travels in NFL games, home field advantage is huge if your stadium can get as loud as it just was in Baltimore.

With a young team like Houston that could be a problem.

  8. Flagpublished at 21:52 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

Eventually, after the zebras have a long conversation in the middle of the field, CJ Stroud is flagged for intentional grounding - as he just threw that ball away to nobody in particular when a blitz was heading right for him.

Devin Singletary is a one-man offence so far as the running back scampers down the right sideline and takes a nice catch falling backwards for a 26-yard gain and first down.

    Houston Texans 0-3 Baltimore Ravens

Nice little complete for Stroud to Singletary across the middle for a first down - which there won't be too many of today for Houston given how good this Ravens defence has been this season.

They had 60 sacks and were the first defence since at least 1970 to lead the league in sacks, points allowed and takeaways.

  11. 'Huge stop'published at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

Here's one for you - the Baltimore Ravens have won two Super Bowls but they've never hosted the AFC Championship game.

The last time the city of Baltimore hosted the AFC title game was 1971 - when the Colts were based there before their controversial move to Indianapolis in 1984.

Justin Tucker from 53 yards...and you know the rest! He just doesn't miss even on a windy day in Baltimore.

Tucker's just automatic - he's got the best all-time percentage on field goals and when we get to the play-offs then he can be a real asset for the Ravens.

  14. Injury news - Andrews remains outpublished at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    Houston Texans 0-0 Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore have registered this season's best record despite suffering a spate of injuries, including a potentially season-ending ankle injury for their top tight end Mark Andrews in week 11.

There was a glimmer of hope he could return today but the 28-year-old will have to wait another week. His replacement Isaiah Likely has shown that next-man-up mentality, though, scoring five touchdowns in their last five games.

David Ojabo - Baltimore's Nigeria-born, Scotland-raised linebacker - has been out since September and is still recovering from ACL surgery in November.

Running backs JK Dobbins and Keaton Mitchell have been out for most of the season but Dalvin Cook, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Vikings, is set to make his Ravens debut having been picked up following his release by the Jets after week 17.

  15. Moving the stickspublished at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

A nice run from Lamar Jackson followed by a nice throw into a tight window for Odell Beckham Jr.

Remember OBJ was last seen in the post-season in the Super Bowl where he was heading towards an MVP award playing for the Rams before suffering a torn ACL.

He could be a big addition for the Ravens.

We're underway in Baltimore as the Ravens boot it to the Houston Texans meaning CJ Stroud will get first go with the ball.

Stroud was amazing in his first play-off start last week - with a 157.2 passer rating that was by far the best of any player making their first post-season start, apart from Jordan Love who posted exactly the same!

  19. Jackson's only previous play-off winpublished at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

At the end of the 2020 season, Lamar Jackson produced this 48-yard touchdown run as the Baltimore Ravens won 20-13 at the Tennessee Titans to reach the divisional round.

Remarkably, that remains Jackson's only play-off win to date as he's lost his three other games in the post-season.

Indeed, since beating the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 47, the Ravens have lost five of their seven play-off games.

Big things were expected from the Baltimore Ravens after they handed quarterback Lamar Jackson a lucrative long-term extension in the off-season and they made a mixed start. They won 25-9 at home to Houston in their opener but travelled to London in October with a 3-2 record.

The Ravens enjoyed a comfortable 24–16 win over Tennessee Titans at Tottenham and that acted as a springboard for John Harbaugh's men. After that, they lost just once - 33-31 to Cleveland - before resting several starters for their season finale against Pittsburgh, when the AFC's top seed had already been secured.

Defeat by the Steelers meant the Ravens finished with a 13-4 record, the best in the NFL, and commanding wins over San Francisco and Miami in December looked to have secured a second MVP award for Jackson.

He registered a career-high 3,678 passing yards while the Ravens had the most rushing yards this season (2,661) and their defence has allowed the fewest points per game (16.5).
