Only Wayde van Niekerk can switch off and jog over the line to win the 400m. Each round we've seen him we've not seen him hit the pedal. He's trying to conserve energy for the 200m.

Some great camaraderie between the pole vault competitors tonight, I must say. They've been chatting all night and were standing together to watch that 400m final.

Now Renaud Lavillenie has to clear 6.01m.

It's his last chance. He'll go from bronze to gold if he does...
