Alice Stainer: What a brilliant person Dina Asher-Smith is! Consistently impressed by her in all respects. Hope her foot can rise to occasion.
Rhosyn Morgan-Davies: I LOVE Dina Asher-Smith she's seems the happiest smiliest person ever!
Women's 200m heats
Britain's Bianca Williams has been reiterating just how gutted she was about her performance in the opening 200m heat, where she finished outside the automatic qualifying positions.
"I know I’m better than that, I’ve run so much better this season, even to qualify here, I’ve shown such good form.
"I just feel like I’ve let myself down, let my Mum down, my partner down, my coach down – everyone that supports me. They expected better than this and I expected better myself.
"I just feel embarrassed more than anything. I don’t want to come out with excuses, I’m better than that – it just wasn’t my day."

I spoke to her in the hotel earlier. You wouldn't have thought she was competing because she was relaxed and talking at a million miles per hour.
Women's javelin final
Barbora Spotakova leads the javelin at the halfway point at 66.76m. The former Olympic champion is well placed, with Lingwei Li in second and Sara Kolak third.
Dina Asher-Smith finished fifth in Rio and at the last Worlds. Briton's got talent.

Dina Asher-Smith is a championship performer. She's young, but she's shown enough at junior, Olympic or world level. She's done it. She's had so much heartache trying to get back, following injury. But at no point has she ever given up trying to compete in London.

Michelle-Lee Ahye of Trinidad and Tobago is a non-starter in this heat - illness?
Dina Asher-Smith gets a huge ovation from lane two. She gets out of the blocks superbly, taking a big lead and then shutting down, but that's still a season's best!
22.73 seconds. Nicely done.
Women's 200m heats
British record holder Dina Asher-Smith is in the next heat - she's been struggling with a foot injury but is a big talent.
Please don't finish fourth...

Miller-Uibo is somebody who could run the top sprinters down in the 200m. She was chilling in the last 40m-50m of that race.
Men's pole vault final
All of the main contenders jumped 5.70 metres to qualify for the final. America’s Sam Kendricks is the only man to have cleared six metres this season and he clears 5.50m by miles.
Well, not literally.
Still amazes me every time. How do you ever do your first vault?

Shannon Hylton's stride on the home straight is much shorter than the other athletes.
That could be a lack of speed endurance and if that is the case, then she will have to work on it in the fall. If that is the case then she must change her tactic and look to see if the 200m is the race for her.
Women's 200m first round
That is what you call a kick! 400m expert Shaunae Miller-Uibo has a steady first 100m and then just turns it on and blows the field away in impressive style!
She wins in 22.69.
And then out of the house...

Isaac Makwala turned up to the stadium tonight but has been turned away. Guidelines are 48hr quarantine and he's only 24 hours post sickness.
Women's 200m first round
Olympic 400m champ Shaunae Miller-Uibo looks the class athlete in heat four. She has gone under 22 seconds this season and is hoping to do the 200/400 double.

A night for long sleeves and extra layers in the London Stadium, grey clouds overhead and a stiff breeze chasing round the concourses out the back. This being the sport-supporting nation it is, there isn't a seat to be had - if the British medal tally has been underwhelming thus far, the backing has been outstanding.

Deajah Stevens was much better in this 200m that she was in the 100m where she came last in the final.
Shannon Hylton may have committed a little too much over the first 100 and then had nothing left in the second 100m. But she is young and has a lot more to give in the future.
Shannon Hylton is upset and frustrated with that run, and she doesn't think it will be enough to go through.
Women's 200m first round
It's another fourth for Britain as Shannon Hylton goes out really hard, in second coming into the home straight, but Deajah Stevens kicks big to go on and win in 22.90.
Ivet Lalova-Collio and Sashalee Forbes take the other automatic spots so Hylton will have to wait and see. Her time of 23.39 may not be good enough though.
