Jake Wightman has impressed me so much. He's managed lifetime bests at 800m and 1500m this year. He's got a real opportunity here. I hope he shows some 'Jess Judd mentality' and runs from the front if it's slow.

  2. So, what have you added to your training this year, Chris?published at 20:50 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

    Men's 1500m heats

    Chris O'Hare: "A baby"

"Truthfully having my son and wife is more of a motivation I have ever had before.

"It's so much easier to get up in the morning and go to bed at night, even though I am exhausted and I can't thank them enough.

"I got a bit excited today. With 400m to go I thought it was slow but I felt comfortable but with 100m to go I knew I was in".

  3. Lake & KJT throughpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

    Women's high jump qualification

It's nice to see a smile on the face of Katarina Johnson-Thompson! She's through to the final, as is Morgan Lake. Their efforts of 1.92m is enough.

  4. Taylor turning it onpublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

    Men's triple jump final

Consistent but solid jumping for Will Claye - that's 17.52m in his second jump. No improvement but he still leads.

Christian Taylor came here looking for a world record. Fifth after his first effort, here he comes - that's better!

Is that the lead? 17.57! He leads by three centimetres.

  5. Dad's watching...published at 20:45 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

    Men's 1500m heats

Jake Wightman goes for GB in the third heat. He has a Diamond League victory from Oslo to his name this season - a breakthrough The Times described as the “most promising performance by a British middle-distance runner for more than three decades”.

Dad Geoff is Jake’s coach and also the announcer at the London Stadium.

The big shock was Ronald Kwemoi. Third ranked in the world this year - he looked terrible in the last 200 metres.

It looked like Richard Douma ran into the back of Ronald Musagala in front of him. He was in with a shout of a top-six finish too.

  8. O'Hare through!published at 20:41 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

    Men's 1500m heats

Another tight race, but Chris O'Hare runs it beautifully. He's able to look around and judge it perfectly, a comfortable third and qualification for the Scot.

Richard Douma of the Netherlands was unlucky and tripped inside the last 50.

O'Hare is a very aggressive runner on the finishing straight too and that stands him in good stead.

It's starting to disturb me though - they are running too close to each other.

  12. 'This is a strong Scottish team'published at 20:38 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

    Men's 1500m heats

    Allison Curbishley

Scot Chris O'Hare went to university in America, married and stayed out there. We've got 16 Scots in the team. It's the strongest Scottish team I've seen.

  13. Scottish record holderpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

Chris O'Hare of GB goes in the next heat. He warmed up for London by breaking John Robson’s 38-year-old Scottish record at the Monaco Diamond League on 21 July.

I have a suspicion KJT's first time clearance at 1.92m will be enough to take her through to the final.

Morgan Lake has also cleared 1.92m now.

  15. Shaky start from Taylorpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

    Men's triple jump final

A shoddy start from favourite Christian Taylor, he lost all momentum and is 'only' 16.97m.

That's 90% down a lane at your local bowling alley.

  16. Claye goes big earlypublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 10 August 2017

    Men's triple jump final

Good start from Will Claye - he nails 17.54m with his first leap. A strong opener!

What a messy race that was. I have no idea what happened. The Olympic champion Matt Centrowitz was just limping home.

I can't see any of the fastest losers coming from that heat.

The biggest shock there was the Olympic champion was absolutely last.

I go to the horse races every now and again - you don't see a finish like that do you.

Matthew Centrowitz, the Olympic champion, was last in that race!

There is a photo finish of about eight athletes. Madness.
