  1. Round 11published at 21:42 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

A minute to go in the penultimate round.

Lee Selby is a massive Floyd Mayweather fan and you can see it in his style, though he has a million miles to go to live in the echelons Mayweather reached.

This is professional now though from the champion, dodging trouble and throwing the odd punch when opportunity presents itself.

We go into the final round...

Gerald Whalen: Selby has this in the bag if he fights smart. Hunter is totally unfocused at this point.

  3. Round 11published at 21:40 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

It's looking more and more like Lee Selby will register a second defence of this title and he'll have gained a lot from the experience for sure.

There's no need to chase it now and he soaks up a couple of shots in the middle of the ring.

  5. Round 10published at 21:38 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

A feint from Eric Hunter but nothing coming off the back of it. He tries an uppercut when Lee Selby comes in close.

He has something about him but he doesn't have the work rate of Selby, who forces his man to the corner but lands little. Hunter's muscles are filling with lactic acid with every passing second.

A combination of stupidity and lack of work-rate have beaten him here.

  6. Round 10published at 21:36 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

After putting his man down and showing flashes of quality, Eric Hunter - for my money at least - was close to the IBF featherweight champion of the world.

Now we have reached a point where Lee Selby has a cushion, he'd have bitten your hand off for such luxury when he was flat on his back in round two.

Hunter is back to an orthodox stance, he may need to start loading up in the next two rounds to find a KO.

  7. Round ninepublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

A choppy hook to the side of the head by Lee Selby and they engage in the middle of the ring...oh hello... we have ANOTHER LOW BLOW.

What is Eric Hunter thinking? He's not taking any notice of the official and is basically throwing this away. He's told one more low blow and it's a disqualification. What are you doing, son?

His corner is warned and they look a little resigned. It's not the first time Hunter has been in hot water in a fight, he's been DQ'd for low blows in the past.

  8. You're kidding?!published at 21:33 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

The look of disbelief is clear on Eric Hunter's face following that low blow and subsequent point deduction.

  9. Round ninepublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

    WE HAVE A HEATED CORNER.

"Don't worry about that," says Eric Hunter's corner. They can see their man is distraught after having that point deducted.

The corner argue with the referee..."he's doing a lot of holding," they say of Selby.

Eric Hunter has been game here, make no mistake, this is pretty close and there's a big 12 minutes to come.

  10. Round eightpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

I can't split this. If anything I'm edging towards the challenger but HANG ON, as I've just written, he's fallen foul of the low blow.

It's a point off for Eric Hunter, he looks really frustrated, like a child who has just had a telling off and doesn't know what to say. That could be so, so key if we go to points and it's the key moment of round eight.

Hunter is against the ropes but out of choice not pressure, Selby taking a few wild swings but to no avail.

  11. On the canvaspublished at 21:28 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

Here's Lee Selby after he was floored by a left in the second round. To the champion's credit, he's recovered well since...

  12. Round eightpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

Right, left, right from Lee Selby, all straight shots and none of them getting anywhere.

Eric Hunter has been warned about low blows, one more and it's a point off. That could be key, if he slips one in he could seal his own fate.

Selby lands a good left as a counter but again, his opponent is now doing the chasing and walking him down. There's intent, Hunter senses a title chance.

  13. Round sevenpublished at 21:25 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

For the first time in a while Eric Hunter is walking Lee Selby down and carrying the fight rather than counter punching. He's walking forward looking for a scrap now and the pair are spending a little more time fighting on the inside.

Both men swing violently as they see a gap at the same time and their shots land with some meat behind them. This is the American's round. Was this a game plan? Step up the pace late on? Or does he think he's behind on the card?

If you're just joining us, world champion Lee Selby was put down in round two so this one is tight.

  14. Round Sevenpublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

I've just been told Jose Mourinho is at the O2 Arena. Hopefully he likes Lee Selby enough to become mates and maybe one day visit Barry.

Selby moves in on Eric Hunter, it's jabs only though but then a combination, some of it only just getting gloves but still, the judges like to see such ambition.

  15. Round sixpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

Again Lee Selby takes the middle of the ring, it's always Eric Hunter closest to the ropes. He is using that overhand right, just as his corner told him.

Footwork aplenty from Selby as he looks for an opening, can he get close enough to engage. Both men are rapid in their movement and late on in the round Eric Hunter switches to a southpaw stance. The bell comes, not a lot landed, probably a Selby round, just.

  16. Round Sixpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

"When he goes to the body get the right hand over the top of it."

That's the instruction from Selby's team.

Selby has gold tassels on his white boots, not sure what I think about that, not that I'd have the bottle to tell him.

Both men are down in the opening minute of this round but it's because they tripped one another. Suddenly it's as if we are watching judo.

  17. Round fivepublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

This would be a classy night's work if Lee Selby can come back from the canvas to get it done.

BANG, a cracking right hand to the chops from the Welshman, hats off to Eric Hunter who soaked it up... but did it hurt him?

Suddenly he looks content to stick to the ropes, a sure sign he's mulling over some pain. Selby knows that's an invitation and lands another couple of excellent shots. A super round for the champion. The clearest one he's won yet.

  18. Round five...published at 21:14 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

Lee Selby's left hand is low, looking for an opening and a couple of jabs flow like pistons - no contact though.

These middle rounds are key, can he keep working to break Eric Hunter up? In close, left to the body, right to the head, good, good stuff from Selby.

Eric Hunter, if you didn't know before, is a born fighter who gained the nickname 'The Outlaw' in his early days as a boxer in Philadelphia.

“I was by myself all the time but I was reckless," said Hunter, speaking last year. "I never cared about who I fought, when I fought, how I fought, as long as I get it done and it was just me and my two hands."

  20. Round fourpublished at 21:12 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Selby v Hunter

Selby's white gloves are blur-like on times and he's throwing a lot more than the visitor here. A good right to the temple, a choppy shot from close range. He moves from left to right in the middle of the ring, changing the angle and Eric Hunter ties him up to evade danger.

In jumps Hunter, he goes for the body but gets told "it's low again" by the referee.

A brief pause, back to the middle of the ring, jab, jab from Selby. He'd have probably taken two rounds like the last couple after being knocked down so swiftly.
