    Selby v Hunter

So what's next, another world title fight? You bet.

Welshman Lee Selby is a wonderful mover, like Justin Timberlake, Bruce Forsyth and Jayne Torvill all rolled into one.

Then we have George Groves and Conor Benn in action, before AJ takes the stage.

  2. McDonnell gets the job donepublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    McDonnell defends WBA title

Jamie McDonnell reacts to defending his WBA bantamweight title on Sky Sports Box Office: "We knew it would be tough for the first part of the fight. The game plan was to break him down and break him down. When I pinned him, he just couldn't take the shots and he folded.

"I've gone on the road and proved I'm the best in the bantamweight division, I've defended this four times. I'm the best in the division. Line the fights up and I'll go and take the belts.

"I'll have a holiday, get in the gym and see what's in the pipeline. As long as there's fights I'm at bantam, but if there's not and I move up, I'd fight the Quiggs and Framptons and I think I'd beat them."

  3. Round nine - Jamie McDonnell winspublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    McDonnell beats Vargas

The writing was on the wall in round eight as Fernando Vargas began to struggle and the ninth brings a good Jamie McDonnell finish.

He has his man pinned to the ropes after a flurry of blows. As the guard comes up, McDonnell works the body and lands, Vargas is on the run and then WHACK, a left to the side of the face really packs some power, leaving Vargas stricken in the corner.

His corner are in quickly, they've seen enough and the WBA world bantamweight title will stay with the Doncaster fighter.

  5. Round eightpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    McDonnell v Vargas

Jamie McDonnell is a world champion of some three years or so, so you'd expect him to take care of Fernando Vargas, a man with five defeats on his record - three in a row too.

A good body shot on the ropes from McDonnell halts his man and he's just got his guard up now, the ambition he showed in parts earlier is disappearing quickly.

But the pattern is simple, McDonnell is chasing his man around the ring, exerting pressure.

  6. A wager for Tyson...published at 20:25 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Martin v Joshua

Tyson Fury is adopting a somewhat risky investment strategy but then I guess when you've walked into the lion's den and won in Dusseldorf as he did against Wladimir Klitschko, you're more than entitled to spend the money how you wish.

  7. McDonnell v Vargas ain't no classic though...published at 20:23 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

"It says something about this fight that the three blokes behind me are discussing their favourite nut. Geezer's got a bag of brazils."

  8. Round sixpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    McDonnell v Vargas

Some corking right hands from Jamie McDonnell in round six and his footwork still has plenty of bounce. The high shoulder is on show to protect his chin and while he is not inflicting major pain on Fernando Vargas, it's good honest work sapping his rival as the minutes tick away.

One-way traffic, classy, exactly what you'd expect from a champion.

    So how are you guys?

As Anthony Joshua enters the O2 Arena I thought I'd ask. Look at the size of him, how did they get a hoody to fit him. He looks confident, a smile as always.

Anyway, I digress, we want your interaction so given AJ's brute force we are asking: "who is the most dominant sportsman or woman you have ever seen?"

Give us any man/woman from any sport and we're waiting on #bbcboxing.

Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn expects a nerve-filled night: "Josh is not the finished article by any means and if he'd fought for a world title in six fights' time, I wouldn't have been as nervous.

"But Charles Martin isn't that experienced either. So I expect them to go toe to toe.

"That's great news for fight fans, but bad news for anyone close to Josh. I expect they will be watching the fight through their fingers.

"But there will be 25-year-olds down the pub watching this, as well as 85-year-old grandmothers knitting jumpers. Josh transcends the sport of boxing."

  12. Round four...published at 20:14 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    McDonnell v Vargas

Jamie McDonnell is in the ring and outworking Fernando Vargas - a man who only stepped into this fight this week.

What does that say about someone? The fact they are ready to go at such a level and at such short notice?

Vargas is game, no shrinking violet so far but McDonnell is all over him whenever he injects some pace into the encounter.

  13. Tonight's boxingpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

Right. Cards on the table - there's some quality boxing on show tonight.

Matthew Macklin has just beaten Brian Rose in a ding-dong contest for the IBF inter-continental middleweight belt.

Jamie McDonnell is currently defending his WBA bantamweight world title against Mexico's Fernando Vargas, while Nigel Benn's son Conor will make his fight debut later.

Lee Selby is in a mouth-watering world title defence against Eric Hunter... before the big one. Anthony Joshua is fighting to become heavyweight champion of the world against Charles Martin.

My goodness, every image I see of Anthony Joshua just resembles a human/ elephant/ giraffe hybrid. The kids these days would call him a "unit", I'll keep it simple and go for very, very big man.

But it's not all about the heavyweight tonight, there's two men - both British and both already world title holders - in action at London's O2 Arena.

  15. Prince in waiting...published at 20:07 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

With heavyweight world titles comes even more swagger, even more glitz and glamour, but you have to go through some serious grit and hassle to get it.

That grit and hassle tonight is American Charles Martin.

Who? I hear you say. He's a title holder, so on paper should provide the stern test we have perhaps only seen Anthony Joshua face once. But I'll dig into Martin's background for you in a bit so you can judge for yourself.

His Alias: 'Prince Charles'. He doesn't look like no prince to me.

Go back to 12 August, 2012.

The journey started many years before but this was the day Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua took a leap into our living rooms as he was declared Olympic champion.

Then came the hype, then came the knockouts, then the celebrity, the expectation and now the opportunity to deliver on all that has gone before.
