  1. Who is late replacement Takam?published at 22:09 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

So what do we know about the challenger tonight?

This is an unexpected chance in the big time for Cameroon-born Carlos Takam, who is 36 years old and has won 35, drew one and lost three times in his 39-fight career.

Twenty-seven of his victories have come inside the distance, suggesting a hugely powerful and dangerous opponent.

But Takam has taken this fight at less than two-weeks' notice after original opponent Kubrat Pulev had to pull out because of a shoulder injury sustained in sparring.

Takam, who had been on standby, therefore became the IBF mandatory challenger. He has fought some big names and has wins over Michael Sprott and Tony Thompson on his record, but has also lost to Alexander Povetkin and current WBO champion Joseph Parker.

Carl Froch, Luke Campbell, Darren Barker, Paulie Malignaggi - just some of the names ringside as Joe Cordina goes about his business in front of his home crowd.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Graeme Souness are in the house from the world of football.

Then there's Colin Farrell from the big screen.

All of them being treated to some 'Don't take me home' from the crowd. It's bubbling in here and the soundtrack to Wales' Euro 2016 heroics sounds sweet.

We have our first communal chant of the night and it is the one Wales fans sang throughout Euro 2016, now mostly heard anywhere where alcohol is served and sport is shown live.

We are heading towards main event time and the atmosphere is finally raucous.

  7. My era won't last forever - Joshuapublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

Anthony Joshua says his "era won't last forever" as he prepares to defend his IBF and WBA titles against Cameroon challenger Carlos Takam in Cardiff.

He also tells BBC Sport's Mike Costello about how "45 minutes can make someone's year" and how a fan emerged from a coma after receiving a signed glove and video message.

  8. Remember this?published at 21:59 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

It was one of the fights of the year. It was one of the fights of any year.

Was it really six months ago when Anthony Joshua floored Wladimir Klitschko in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium in April, got knocked down himself a round later, but then later recovered to claim a sensational 11th-round stoppage win?

It was a sensational, dramatic night of boxing. Will tonight be as dramatic?

  11. Whyte wins by unanimous decisionpublished at 21:52 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

Here are the cards... 119-109 119-109 118-110, all in the favour of Dillian Whyte.

He takes the WBC silver heavyweight title and perhaps another step towards a world title shot of his own next year?

  13. Round 12published at 21:49 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Whyte v Helenius

Right then, you'd have to say Robert Helenius needs a knockout to stop the vacant WBC silver heavyweight crown heading to Dillian Whyte's mantelpiece...

That looks a long way off as Whyte continues to chase the Scandinavian around the ring and fires in a fierce right-hander.

Chants of "ohhh, Anthony Joshua" are coursing round the Principality Stadium now, but it's Dillian Whyte who is trying to light up this bout as he goes for broke in the final round.

Helenius is managing to avoid most of Whyte's efforts, but offering very little in return.

  14. Round 11published at 21:46 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Whyte v Helenius

That's the first time we've seen some action in a long while from Robert Helenius, an upper cut that Dillian Whyte bounces off his gloves and almost nods in appreciation at.

Whyte is still trying to pin down the taller, more experienced Helenius, and throws a three-shot combo that doesn't really ruffle the giant Scandinavian.

He goes again, but Helenius remains happy to take shot after shot from the Brit.

It's the body shot route for Whyte, but Helenius holds on.

  16. Round 10published at 21:41 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Whyte v Helenius

Robert Helenius looks dejected, like a kid that doesn't want to go out for PE.

Mind you, I wouldn't fancy walking into a ring with Dillian Whyte either...

The Londoner is still looking lively, just pacing around the ring and he shakes the Scandinavian with a rippling left.

Whyte attempts to gauge his range, before throwing a heavy right. Helenius has absorbed them all so far, but how much longer can he soak up this punishment?

  18. Round ninepublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Whyte v Helenius

Dillian Whyte dives in with a right, Robert Helenius pads it away like a goalkeeper.

Whyte is on the prowl again, he just can't pin down the tall, rangy Scandinavian as Helenius almost burrows his left hand through the guard of Whyte with no real power.

There's still blood on the nose of the visitor, but Whyte is targeting the body and backs Helenius up into his corner with a barrage of low blows.

  19. Round eightpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Whyte v Helenius

Robert Helenius is shaking his arm, he looks in a little bit of discomfort - and Dillian Whyte is jumping all over that.

A wolf print on his shorts, the Londoner is hunting down the black-clad Helenius but can't sink that winning blow.

The Scandinavian is just courting the ropes, Whyte following and looking to unleash a flurry of shots every few steps.

He's caught the nose of Helenius, there's a little bit of blood to show for his efforts.
