Another round for Lee Selby, his flow, his movement and what he does naturally is too much for a limited challenger who is fading.

  2. Round 10published at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Lee Selby v Eduardo Ramirez

Lee Selby onto the front foot, backing up Eduardo Ramirez. But there is not a lot of consequence getting through there.

Ramirez's feet are not keeping up with his punches now though. After two very industrious rounds, he is reaching for his shots.

Selby lands a nice left hook to the body as the two men come together. Ramirez with the old trick of trying to finish the round strongly to catch the judges eyes.

He didn't do enough though for me. Selby's round.

I think Selby's winning the fight but he's struggling. There's no weight behind his shots and I'd like to see him accelerate a bit more.

The fight is repetitive now, they both missed a lot in that round and Lee looks a bit tired.

  5. Round ninepublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Lee Selby v Eduardo Ramirez

Lee Selby has been through a bit of mid-fight slump. Can he pull back on the joystick and dominate Eduardo Ramirez once again?

Ramirez is slower marching his way back into this. He has Selby semi-buzzed with a nice right hand.

A lot of wild and windy work from both men in the second half of the round. The lactic is building and the accuracy is dropping.

It might be that Ramirez took that round as well.

I'm giving that round to Ramirez, in the last minute he landed a hell of a lot of shots. Josh Warrington must be licking his lips at the thought of fighting Lee Selby.

  7. Round eightpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Lee Selby v Eduardo Ramirez

Lee Selby measuring his range with his left lead, trying to get off some powerful shots.

And some success. Ramirez's guard is lax and Selby lands clean. Ramirez soaks that one up like a sponge. But how close is he to saturation point?

Not that close it seems. Ramirez puts together a decent purposeful combination.

Ramirez ends the round with a long look at Selby after the bell.

"Keep moving, don't stand and trade," is the advice from the champion's corner as he settles on his stool.

There's really only one thing a world-class fighter respects, can you hurt him? I had that as Ramirez's best round. I gave it even.

I think that was a more concerted effort from Ramirez. Maybe Selby's looking a little tired and maybe he needs a second wind? I have it six rounds to one.

  10. Round sevenpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Lee Selby v Eduardo Ramirez

Lee Selby slips a left under the ribs of Eduardo Ramirez. The Mexican has not yet won a round by my reckoning. He needs something spectacular and we are heading towards uncharted waters. The challenger has never been past 12 rounds.

Selby is called for a low blow midway though the round. A short pause while the Welshman's gumshield is recovered.

Ramirez rallies towards the end. Selby gets a bit static and the Mexican ups the work rate in close.

    Even round.

But at what cost, Adam? You wouldn't want to lose the fluency of his work that is doing him well in this fight.

Fighting is an extension of what you do in the gym, an extension of the repetition of what you do. Lee had that guy there. Maybe he doesn't train to get rid of a fighter when he has them in trouble.

  13. Round sixpublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Lee Selby v Eduardo Ramirez

A clean left hand pierces the defences of Eduardo Ramirez. But Lee Selby, well ahead on the cards, is not going to chase those in though until he is sure they have had the desired effect.

There is not so much coming back from Ramirez now. And Selby is starting to land with a higher percentage of the leather thrown.

Ramirez sneaks in a body shot in a clinch, but the hooks around the Welshman's head are looking half-hearted now.

In his success I think Lee is showing his biggest problem in that he is throwing a lot, landing a lot but he hasn't really hurt this guy. Lee now needs to find something else to bring his market value up a bit.

Lee Selby is winning quite comfortably now. Ramirez needs to break Lee's pattern of boxing but he is getting out-boxed.

Flurries from Eduardo Ramirez, but they are not settling on Lee Selby. This is a high-energy tactic from the Mexican.

Lee Selby saps some more energy with a solid body shot. Ramirez's shoulders are starting the heave between exchanges. Selby still looks sharp and nimble around the ring though.

Selby stops the dancing momentarily to take up the cudgels at the end of the round and he lands the more meaningful work in those as well.

    He is taking control here.

I think what's happened here is that Lee Selby has found a bit more rhythm to his game. But I do think he needs to stay much closer to the target to be effective.

Lee's tidied up his exits. After his work he's shifting and dipping low. That was the first round where Ramirez didn't land a shot, that's because Lee is taking it a bit more seriously now.

  20. Round fourpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Lee Selby v Eduardo Ramirez

Lee Selby comes out of the corner with a flea in his ear, taking the fight to Eduardo Ramirez.

The Welshman is working all the angles on the protractor, staying out of the sights of Ramirez's who keeps marching forward like a sergeant major is in his corner.

Ramirez doesn't look comfortable without a solid platform to throw his punches. Selby is not going to dig in his heels and trade though.

A clever, canny, winning round from Selby
