A huge wicket for Derbyshire as Blair Tickner has Marcus Harris caught at slip by Wayne Madsen for 45.

Lancashire may have struggled this season, but Harris has been filling his boots.

He fell five short of his eighth half-century of the season in his first match as captain.

The Australia batter came to the crease with his side 11-2 and shared 103 with Luke Wells for the third wicket.

Harris already has two centuries to his name this campaign and was averaging 88 before this match.

Matty Hurst is not hanging around - he's hit two fours and has moved to 10 off just five balls.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 16 May

    Rew c Haines b Carson 46 (Somerset 149-3 v Sussex)

Jack Carson has his first wicket of the innings and it's a big one.

Recently called-up England batter James Rew has been flying along but he pushes too far at one outside of off stump and edges it straight to Haines at first slip.

Rew was batting at 100.0 strike rate with 46 from 46 balls but his day in the middle is over for now.

  5. Postpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 122-3

It's been a bit of a tough grind for Surrey bowler Matt Fisher so far today. Jonny Bairstow takes another two boundaries off Fisher's 11th over and that takes him swiftly onto 22.

  6. 'Bairstow looks up for this'published at 14:25 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 118-3

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Bairstow looks up for this at the moment.

With the big crowd and the lovely day, he will be enjoying this.

He's done it at international level, so this will be fun for him.

  7. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 143-2 v Sussex

James Rew seems determined to get to 50 for Somerset before Tom Lammonby at the other end.

He flicks one off his legs and it trickles towards the rope but doesn't quite make it, though they're able to run three.

Rew has flown onto 42 and gone ahead of Lammonby on 41.

  8. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 16 May

  9. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 136-2 v Sussex

Somerset's James Rew hasn't been hanging around since lunch as he slams another beauty of a cover drive to the boundary and moves onto 34 from just 39 balls.

Tom Lammonby is still ticking along nicely at the other end on 41 from 100 deliveries.

150 up for Nottspublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 152-4

Kyle Verreynne rocks back and pulls Codi Yusuf through midwicket.

He doesn't time it so well and it pulls up well short of the rope, but the South Africa wicketkeeper gets three and takes Notts past 150.

  11. 'A glorious day for batting'published at 14:18 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 135-2 Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

It looks a glorious day for battling.

I wonder if Sussex are now thinking they made the wrong decision to put them into the crease.

  12. 100 runs

100 up for Yorkshirepublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 108-3

  13. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 16 May

    Lancs 106-2 v Derbys

Luke Wells has moved past fifty to take Lancashire to three figures as the Red Rose look to accelerate a little after lunch.

Wells brought up his 46th first-class fifty off 92 balls on his return to the opener's spot and has since moved on to 62.

He and Marcus Harris (38) have put on 95 for the third wicket.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 16 May

    Higgins b Holland 44 (Middlesex 101-5 v Leicstershire)

Another blow for Middlesex as Ryan Higgins is bowled by Ian Holland six short of his half-century.

Higgins was going along nicely as the hosts look to stitch back together some sort of respectable first innings score but Holland is tearing through the Middlesex top order.

Four wickets already for Holland today and 25 for the season. A man in form.

  15. Postpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 145-4

    Shot!

    Collape, what collapse?

Haseeb Hameed has seen some carnage at the non-striker's end, but seems unmoved as he gets down on knee and drives Brydon Carse stylishly through the covers.

The Notts opener goes to 56.

  16. 'Notts in a spell of bother'published at 14:09 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 140-4

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

He went for a forward defensive there, but it must have come off the toe of the bat.

As he's played it, I thought it had bounced but he's snatched it with his right hand.

Notts are in a spell of bother now.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Adam Lythpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 95-3

Adam Lyth is the leading run scorer in Division One so far this season and he's just added another 50 to his tally.

The 37-year-old crunches one through the covers for four off Matt Fisher.

A fourth half-century of the season and Yorkshire really need him to stay out there at the moment.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 16 May

    Haynes c and b Carse 1 (Durham v Notts 140-4)

The Notts slide continues with a third wicket after lunch!

Brydon Carse has his first wicket in just his seventh over of the season as he removes Jack Haynes for one.

Th delivery looks to stick in the pitch a little as Haynes chips it back to the bowler who takes a casual one-handed catch in his follow through.

Kyle Verreynne is next on the conveyor belt

  19. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 91-3

Jonny Bairstow is at the crease for Yorkshire and it's his turn to deal with the impressive bowling of Surrey's Tom Lawes.

Lawes bowls a maiden to Bairstow and is on 2-24 from eight overs.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 16 May

    Stoneman c Davies b Hannon-Dalby 48 (Warwicks v Hants 105-4)

    Big breakthrough for the Bears!

OHD takes the outside edge of Mark Stoneman's bat and it gives wicketkeeper Alex Davies his third catch of the innings.

Stoneman is not happy with the decision, but it looked a decent edge to me. Liam Dawson joins Ben Brown.
