Luke Hollman battingImage source, Rex Features

Luke Hollman looked to be clawing Middlesex back into it at Lord's but he's been caught behind by Ben Cox off Tom Scriven.

Four wickets down already before lunch. What a start this has been for unbeaten Division Two leaders Leicestershire.

Ben Geddes has now joined Ryan Higgins in the middle and quickly moved onto six, with Higgins on 20.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 16 May

    Libby c Pepper b Thain 16 (Worcs 58-3 v Essex)

Noah Thain strikes and the Pears have lost their top three batsmen with less than 60 on the board.

Jake Libby made 16 from 51 balls and the hosts are in a bit of trouble already.

They do have good batters to come but it's been a tough season for Worcs so far - they could do with someone finding a bit of form.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 16 May

    Wharton c Foakes b Clark 4 (Surrey v Yorkshire 59-2)

Another wicket for Surrey and James Wharton is gone for just four.

Jordan Clark bangs it in just back of a length and it gets up on Wharton who can't do anything but nick it behind.

It sails through to wicket-keeper Ben Foakes and after a solid start, there are just a few questions being asked of Yorkshire now.

  5. Postpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 66-1 v Sussex

Ollie Robinson has been brought back on for Sussex and he's not exactly bowling at express pace but his accuracy usually more than makes up for it.

He throws in a short one but Tom Lammonby is onto it very quickly for Somerset and calmly pulls it away for four.

Still only 12 runs off Robinson's seven overs so far, though.

  6. 'They've got to dig in here'published at 12:32 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 104-1

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

First wicket going down and it did last week.

They've got to really dig in here and win this session.

It's Durham's first chink of success after they have probably felt they haven't done enough since putting them into the bat.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 16 May

    Slater c Robinson b Minto 52 (Durham v Notts 104-1)

Fifty and out for Ben Slater.

James Minto gets one to move away from the Notts opener who's pushed back onto the back foot and it clips something on the way through to wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson.

The umpire took a little time before giving that, but the finger does go up and Slater has to go.

The Notts opener shakes his head. He's thinking more pocket of his trousers than outside edge.

Durham have the breakthrough and Freddie McCann joins Haseeb Hameed.

  8. 50 partnershippublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 16 May

    Warwicks v Hants 56-1

Beau Webster sends down a no-ball and that brings up the 50 partnership for Hampshire between Mark Stoneman and Nick Gubbins.

It's come off 109 balls and they've looked pretty untroubled after the early loss of Fletcha Middleton.

  9. Postpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 60-1 v Sussex

    Josh Davey, stop it.

Not even a bad delivery from off-spinner Jack Carson but Somerset opener Davey gets down low to reverse sweep it for four.

Carson has a battle on his hands here.

  10. 'Somerset will be happy with how they have performed'published at 12:27 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 60-1 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Josh Davey is doing a good job as stand-in opener so far.

It looks like a good surface to bat on.

These two have batted solidly, I think Somerset will be happy with how they have performed since the wicket.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Ben Slaterpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 103-0

    Ben SlaterImage source, Rex

Ben Raine overpitches and Ben Slater plays it off his pads through square leg for his 10th four.

It brings up his 44th first-class half-century, off 58 balls, and his fourth of the season.

It also takes the opening partnership into three figures

  12. 50 runs

50 up for Middlesexpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 16 May

    Middlesex 56-3 v Leicestershire

Ship being steadied slightly for Middlesex, then.

Luke Hollman and Ryan Higgins have put together a 36-run partnership to stop the early flow of wickets for Leicestershire and bowler Ian Holland in particular.

The hosts move past the 50 mark at Lord's with Hollman on 33 from 63 balls and Higgins onto 16 from 38.

  13. 50 runs

50 up for Somersetpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 53-1 v Sussex

Spinner Jack Carson is introduced to the bowling attack for Sussex and Josh Davey comes down the track on his second ball and hammers it down the ground for four, bringing up the 50 for Somerset.

Davey then flicks one around the corner for another couple before nudging a single into the leg-side. Seven off the over.

  14. 50 runs

50 up for Hampshirepublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 16 May

    Warwicks v Hants 52-1

Alex Davies has brought Ed Barnard into the attack and he almost snares the wicket of Mark Stoneman.

He finds a super line which beats the Hampshire opener's outside edge.

Beau Webster is the latest bowling change in the 20th over as he becomes the fifth man to be thrown the ball this morning.

Bowling around the wicket, he gets one to angle back in towards the stumps as Nick Gubbins leaves it alone.

A dabbed single then a no-ball brings up the 50 after a watchful start.

  15. 'A smart catch from Patterson'published at 12:17 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 52-1

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It's a sharp catch at first slip.

A big edge, a smart catch from Patterson, he didn't have much time to react.

He'll be pleased, he's in the game.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 16 May

    Bean c Patterson b Lawes 19 (Surrey v Yorkshire 52-1)

    Commentator's curse?

Fin Bean slashes at a full delivery from Tom Lawes outside the off stump and takes a big edge.

It flies towards Surrey debutant Kurtis Patterson in the slip cordon and he makes no mistake to scoop it up.

A much-needed breakthrough for the hosts you feel.

  17. 50 runs

50 up for Yorkshirepublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 52-0

So far, so good for Yorkshire. Adam Lyth guides it into the offisde for three to take his partnership with Fin Bean past the 50 mark.

An excellent start by the opening pair who are starting to build a nice platform.

  18. Division Two updatepublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 16 May

Ajeet Singh Dale has taken two quick wickets for Gloucestershire to leave Kent wobbling on 36-3.

They're big wickets too as he has taken out Daniel Bell-Drummond and Ben Compton.

Glamorgan have taken their first wicket at home against Northants, with Andy Gorvin dismissing Ricardo Vasconcelos for 18 to leave the visitors on 64-1.

  19. Postpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 81-0

James Minto is into the attack for Durham as Brydon Carse takes a rest.

He gets plenty of swing from his first ball, but it started wide and forced Ollie Robinson into a diving stop. The umpire calls wide and warns him about his follow-through.

Not an ideal start for the youngster.

The next ball induces a thick outside edge from Ben Slater's defensive push, but it's down to the third man boundary.

Minto then draws another false shot and it loops high into the air but luckily for Slater it drops between the fielders.

The left-armer is getting some real movement through the air.

  20. Postpublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 48-0

You have to wonder at which point Ben Foakes' decision to bowl first for Surrey might prove to be the wrong one?

Not yet, of course, but Yorkshire's Adam Lyth and Fin Bean are ticking along very nicely indeed.

Bean picks up his second and third boundaries of the day off Tom Lawes, first punching through the leg-side and then slotting a nicely timed drive through the covers.
