    Lancs 28-2 v Derbys

It's slow going for the Lancashire batters after the hosts lost those two early wickets.

New captain Marcus Harris has moved to six off 18 balls, while opener Luke Wells remains unbeaten on 17 off 45.

Anuj Dal and Zak Chappell have entered the attack for the visitors.

    Nicholls c Pepper b Rajitha 0 (Worcs 38-2 v Essex)

Oh no, a blunder by Worcestershire's experienced number three!

New Zealand left-hander Henry Nicholls attempts to leave a ball from Kasun Rajitha but it bounces up onto his bat and behind for wicketkeeper Michael Pepper to take the catch.

Nicholls only lasted nine balls and didn't get off the mark.

    Surrey v Yorkshire 40-0

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Yorkshire have done the first thing right here today, they haven't scored quickly but they've not lost any wickets.

They've played nicely, you need a bit of luck every now and then and they have made the most of it.

Surrey have been good with the ball.

    Durham v Notts 75-0

It's hard going for the Durham bowlers after the hosts won the toss and inserted Notts.

Haseeb Hameed pays soft hands to Codi Yusuf and the ball drops just in front of Colin Ackermann at second slip.

The Notts captain then pulls Yusuf's final ball through the onside and gets a top edge which goes for a maximum off the shorter boundary at deep backward square leg. He's up to 41 off just 47 balls

Ben Slater joins the party, taking Brydon Carse for two fours in the paceman's fourth over, the second a glorious push through the covers to go 31.

    Somerset 42-1 v Sussex

Tom Lammonby gets his first boundary of the morning for Somerset, flicking off his legs down to fine leg off Tom Clark's second ball since coming into the attack for Sussex.

Clark then serves up a half-volley which Lammonby duly dispatches straight back past him for another four.

    Lammonby moves onto 12.

    Warwicks v Hants 35-1

There's an early bowling change at Edgbaston as Rob Yates comes in with a bit of slow-arm action, replacing OHD.

His first couple are tidy enough and go for just the four runs.

Mark Stoneman is immovable on 15 off a stately 43 balls.

Nick Gubbins then drives a full half-volley for a boundary off Ethan Bamber to go to 16.

  7. 'Things are going along very nicely'published at 11:57 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 59-0

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Notts were put into bat at a ground where they traditionally suffer some hidings.

At the moment, things are going along very nicely indeed.

I do think that if Durham can get those wickets before lunch, they will be very pleased.

    There's lots of movement around.

    Somerset 34-1 v Sussex

Nathan McAndrew is holding a nice line and length for Sussex and making life slightly tricky for Josh Davey and Tom Lammonby.

McAndrew finishes a maiden before Davey flicks it round the corner for a couple off bowler Fynn Hudson-Prentice who has replaced Ollie Robinson.

50 up for Nottspublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 53-0

Doubt creeps into the mind of Haseeb Hameed as he aims a tentative push at Brydon Carse and it beats the edge.

The Durham man is generating some pace here.

He angles the next ball across the Notts opener, but it strays down leg and Hameed helps it round the corner to the fine leg boundary. That one raced away.

Carse's line again strays, offering Ben Slater a bit of width and he punches it off the back foot for four more.

Fine start for the visitors here as the openers bring up the 50 stand off 79 balls.

    Middlesex 28-3 v Leicestershire

It's far too early to say Middlesex are steadying the ship just yet.

But Luke Hollman is trying to hold up an end for the hosts after a dismal start to the innings.

He's onto 18 from 40 balls alongside Ryan Higgins at the crease with him, who has four off 14 deliveries.

Middlesex have gone six overs without losing a wicket - their longest spell of the match without doing so until now... progress?

  11. dropped catch

Bean dropped on 8published at 11:49 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 35-0

Adam Lawes is brought into the attack for Surrey and Fin Bean flicks one off his legs hard towards a diving Dan Lawrence at backward square leg but Lawrence can't hold on to what was a very tough chance.

To add insult, Yorkshire manage to squeeze through for a single.

  12. Postpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 16 May

    Warwicks v Hants 27-1

Ethan Bamber has started well for the Bears and is down on one knee with a big appeal after zipping one past Nick Gubbins inside edge and on to his pad.

But Gubbins planted his front foot far enough down the wicket for the impact to hit him outside the line.

Bamber's first six overs have gone for just six overs.

A big party of schoolchildren in the crowd are making some right noise. That's what I call a nice school day.

  13. wicket

Roderick lbw Snater 17 (Worcs 32-1 v Essex)

Bottom side Worcestershire are a wicket down after 10 overs at a sunny New Road.

Opener Gareth Roderick has been trapped lbw by Shane Snater, with Henry Nicholls the new man in alongside Jake Libby.

The Pears are yet to win a match this season, with one draw and four defeats in their opening five games.

  14. Postpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 34-0

Nathan Smith has just put the pressure on Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth with an absolutely brilliant maiden over for Surrey.

Lyth was playing all around it and the final ball of the over thuds into his thigh pad and almost drops onto his stumps.

Safe to say Lyth is probably pleased to see the end of that over.

    Surrey v Yorkshire 34-0

We've seen a fair bit of carry-on, on this surface this morning.

The Yorkshire openers have managed to weather the first storm.

  16. Postpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 16 May

    Warwicks v Hants 23-1

Lovely from Mark Stoneman as the Hampshire opener gets on the front foot and guides Olly Hannon-Dalby through midwicket for his second boundary.

He goes to 12 off 32 balls.

A single moves Nick Gubbins up to seven as Hants look to settle in after last weekend's batting woes.

  17. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 31-1 v Sussex

Ollie Robinson with another tight over for Sussex with just one off it as his final ball of the over narrowly flashes past Tom Lammonby's outside edge.

  18. Difficult start for Lancashirepublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 16 May

    Lancs 11-2 v Derbys

Keaton Jennings' mood won't have lifted much as an unhappy week ends with an early dismissal.

Blair Tickner has the Lancs opener caught well by Wayne Madsen at second slip for two in his first innings after stepping down as captain.

New man Josh Bohannon then lasted just six balls as he's caught behind by Brooke Guest off Ben Aitchison for three.

Lancs in early trouble. New skipper Marcus Harris comes to the crease with the new ball just nine overs old.

  19. Postpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 34-0

Adam Lyth gets the scoreboard moving again for Yorkshire with a wonderful straight drive down the ground through mid-off for four off Matthew Fisher's bowling.

Next ball, same again... though he doesn't time it quite as well but it's still enough to pick up three.

Lyth moves onto 21 from 35 balls.

  20. Postpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 27-0

Surrey won the toss and elected to bowl today but it's yet to pay dividends in the first nine overs.

Yorkshire, who have batted first in every game so far this season, are settling in nicely with openers Adam Lyth and Fin Bean.

Nothing stellar about the run-rate but the ball is nipping about a fair bit and Lyth and Bean have done well to combat the swing - particularly in that last maiden over from Nathan Smith.
