  1. Postpublished at 18:21 British Summer Time

    Surrey 33-0 v Yorkshire 255

Into the final three overs at The Oval and it will have been a very good day's work for Surrey if they can get to the close of play with all 10 wickets still in hand.

They're ticking along nicely with Rory Burns on 19 and Dom Sibley on nine.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:20 British Summer Time

    Hutton c Drissell b Carse 32 (Durham v Notts 397-9)

Brett Hutton's super rearguard innings comes to a soft end after 94 balls.

Hutton has a go at a wide ball from Brydon Carse and gets a thick outside edge which finds George Drissell at cover point. It ends a nagging 122-run stand.

Mo Abbas comes to the wicket with Haseeb Hameed still four short of a double hundred.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:17 British Summer Time

    Tribe c Vasconcelos b Conway 18 (Glamorgan 48-3 v Northants 185)

What's going on here then? Are Glamorgan trying to manufacture a collapse to rival Northants'?!

I've barely finished typing about Labuschagne being out then Asa Tribe is gone as well - Harry Conway the man in the wickets again.

Glamorgan have lost three wickets for two runs in three overs.

  4. Close of play at Lord'spublished at 18:16 British Summer Time

    Middlesex 232 v Leicestershire 22-1

Division Two leaders Leicestershire - and Ian Holland in particular - will feel they've had the better of the day despite Rishi Patel falling with the final ball of the evening session.

Middlesex were bowled out for 232 as Holland took an excellent 5-35 from 20.2 overs at just 1.72 an over.

The visitors will come back tomorrow morning at 22-1.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time

    Yates lbw b Abbott 6 (Warwicks 12-1 v Hants 300)

A good day gets a little better for Hampshire as they strike before the close.

Kyle Abbott, in around the wicket, gets one to straighten a little. It turns Rob Yates round and hits him in front of leg stump.

That's a 24th wicket of the season already.

A bold move as the hosts bring out Oliver Hannon-Dalby as nightwatchman with five overs still to go.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time

    Labuschagne c Broad b Conway 0 (Glamorgan 48-2 v Northants 185)

The Aussie goes without troubling the scorer!

Marnus Labuschagne edges to third slip after seven dot balls as Northants claim a second Glamorgan scalp - and a big one at that.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time

    Patel lbw b Higgins 6 (Middlesex 232 v Leicestershire 22-1)

A wicket with the final ball of the day at Lord's!

Rishi Patel is struck on the pads by Ryan Higgins and the umpire deems it to be hitting him in line.

Higgins goes over to hug youngster Naavya Sharma who dropped Sol Budinger earlier in the over after that wicket, likely to tell him not to worry about the drop.

Nice touch from Higgings and that'll be that for the day.

  8. dropped catch

Budinger dropped on 14published at 18:12 British Summer Time

    Middlesex 232 v Leicestershire 21-0

Middlesex youngster Naavya Sharma has just had a bit of a mare on his debut.

Sol Budinger tees up an absolute dolly towards Sharma at mid-on and he makes a complete mess of it, somehow conspiring to let it slip through his grasp.

That could've been a vital wicket in the final over of the day but the Leicestershire opener gets lucky.

  9. Hameed closes on double tonpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time

    Durham v Notts 392-8

Brydon Carse is back and will be giving the England selectors a few worries as he shakes his foot a littke after his second ball and limps a little.

Haseeb Hameed hammers it dismissively straight down the ground to move into the 190s.

The Notts opener whips another ball through the legs of his partner Brett Hutton and through mid on for four more. He needs six for his double-century.

  10. Warwickshire begin first inningspublished at 18:07 British Summer Time

    Warwicks 6-0 Hants 300

The Bears have eight overs to face before stumps as Rob Yates and Alex Davies come to the crease.

Yates aims a big old waft to the first ball from Kyle Abbott. Lucky for him it missed everything.

A more crisply-timed shot to the second sees Yates pull the South African to the fence to get the scoreboard ticking.

A single brings on Alex Davies who gets a horrible ball first up which lifts and takes the edge but drops just short.

The Bears skipper asks for new gloves and diverts the final ball of the over down to long leg for a single.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Matthew Waitepublished at 18:07 British Summer Time

    Worcs 309-8 v Essex

Matthew Waite joins team-mate Rob Jones in reaching a half-century at New Road today.

His coming in 72 balls and just over two hours.

  12. Close of play at Tauntonpublished at 18:07 British Summer Time

    Somerset 317-6 v Sussex

A good day of cricket in the glorious sunshine comes to an end at Taunton.

The advantage was probably just about with Sussex at 187-5 but a fine performance in the latter half of the day - led by Archie Vaughan's unbeaten 70 for Somerset - has certainly swung the pendulum back the other way.

Somerset end with 317 runs on the board, four wickets in hand and Craig Overton with his eye in at the other end on 22*.

A lot still to play for on day two, but you feel Sussex will need an early breakthrough to make in-roads.

  13. Postpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time

    Surrey 28-0 v Yorkshire 255

Surrey skipper Rory Burns clips one off his pads from Jack White. He doesn't time it as well as he could but it still flies out to the mid-wicket boundary for four.

Yorkshire have only won once against Surrey at The Oval in the County Championship since 1978 and that came back in 2007.

They've got some work to do in this match to put themselves in a position to make that two wins on this ground in 47 years.

  14. 'A very entertaining day of cricket'published at 18:05 British Summer Time

    Warwicks 4-0 v Hants 300

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

It's been a very entertaining day of cricket so far.

The ball has been a little bit in the air today, Ed Barnard made the most of it with his figures.

Warwickshire will have to bat in this tricky period.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time

    ul Hassan b Procter 25 (Glamorgan 47-1 v Northants 185)

First wicket down in Glamorgan's response as Northants skipper Luke Procter bowls Zain ul Hassan for 25.

Procter top-scored with the bat for his team with 61 and seems to be saying 'leave it to me' with the ball as well.

A reminder that Northants lost nine wickets for just 80 runs earlier on. Sorry to remind you that Northants followers...

  16. 100 runs

100 partnershippublished at 18:02 British Summer Time

    Durham v Notts 380-8

These are priceless runs for Notts and so frustrating if you're of a Durham persuasion.

Haseeb Hameed guides Ben Raine down to the third man boundary rope to bring up the century stand for the ninth wicket.

It's come off just 145 balls and Hutton has 31 of them.

  17. 'Somerset have had the better of it'published at 18:00 British Summer Time

    Somerset 316-6 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

At this stage, you would say Somerset have had the better of it today.

They'll be very happy with that after the position they were in.

  18. 300 runs

300 up for Worcestershirepublished at 17:59 British Summer Time

    Worcs 302-8 v Essex

Fair play to Worcs they have dug in at New Road and got themselves a second batting point.

When Rob Jones got out just before tea they were 192-7 but Tom Taylor's 43 and Matthew Waite's unbeaten 48 have added valuable runs afterwards.

How many more will they get?

  19. Postpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time

    Somerset 316-6 v Sussex

When Tom Banton was controversially given out for Somerset to leave them 187-5, Sussex would've been feeling fairly content.

But Somerset have really put their foot to the floor, especially since tea.

It's now 316-6 as Archie Vaughan hits another four, this time off Fynn Hudson-Prentice, to take himself onto 69.

It's becoming a bit of a long day in the field now for the visitors.

  20. HAMPSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 300published at 17:57 British Summer Time

    Turner c Davies b Hannon-Dalby 7 (Warwicks v Hants 300)

James Fuller takes a single off Olly Hannon-Dalby to bring up Hampshire's second batting point.

But two balls later John Turner edges OHD behind to give Alex Davies his fourth catch of the day.

Useful lower order runs have given Hampshire a decent total.

They'll have eight overs at the Bears before close.
