    Dawson c Yates b Barnard 46 (Warwicks v Hants 198-6)

Warwickshire have just one slip to Ed Barnard and Liam Dawson finds him!

The delivery bounces outside off stump and Dawson's attempt to guide it down to third man ends with a top edge to Rob Yates.

He falls four short of his half-century and Barnard has two wickets.

    James Fuller joins Toby Albert.

  3. Postpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time

    Somerset 233-5 v Sussex

A big appeal from the Sussex fielders as James Hayes flashes one past batter Tom Abell and they're convinced it's taken a nick on the way through to wicket-keeper John Simpson as Abell tries to pull it away.

The umpire says no and then Abell typically hammers the next ball for four through the covers.

  4. Postpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time

    Durham v Notts 279-8

Brydon Carse has 1-40 from his nine overs on his return today and gets us going after tea.

After an eventful afternoon session, the Durham openers could well be pulling on their pads sooner rather than later.

Yet still Haseeb Hameed remains. He takes a single to go to 114.

  5. Postpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 205-6

A steady start to the evening session at The Oval as Yorkshire trickle onto 205-6 in the opening couple of overs.

Jonny Bairstow is 20 runs away from a century.

  6. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time

    Somerset 227-5 v Sussex

Somerset's Archie Vaughan and Tom Abell have put on 34 runs since coming back out after tea.

They're batting with a lot more intent and Sussex are just being asked a few questions for the first time in a while.

Can the visitors step it back up?

  7. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time

    Warwicks v Hants 190-5

Ed Barnard gets the evening session with a maiden to Toby Albert.

Liam Dawson resumes on 41 as he faces Tazeem Ali.

A drag down from the young spinner helps Dawson up and running with a single.

Albert then sweeps for four to go to 25. Nice, controlled shot.

  8. Play resumes at Old Traffordpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time

    Lancs 172-3 v Derbys

Luke Wells is closing in on a 27th first-class ton as Lancashire resume after tea at Old Trafford.

He went to tea on 86 alongside Matty Hurst as the Red Rose reached the interval at 165-3, losing just the wicket of Marcus Harris in the afternoon session.

Wells has moved to 91 while wicketkeeper Hurst has 29.

It's been a glorious day for cricket around the country today. None more so than at Taunton.

Sun shining, hats and sunglasses on. Lovely.

  11. Tea at New Roadpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time

    Worcs 223-7 v Essex

Rob Jones' half-century had come as very welcome tonic for the Pears who struggled again today.

He was the middle-order linchpin for the hosts but gave his wicket up just before tea with a big swiping pull shot which he top-edged allowing Essex to take the catch at deep mid-wicket.

Matthew Waite and Tom Taylor both have big scores in their arsenal and they will need to stay together to help move Worcestershire's score on.

Essex will be pleased with their day's work so far and have plenty of time after the interval to pick up the remaining three wickets.

  12. Postpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time

    Somerset 212-5 v Sussex

Archie Vaughan hits a cut for four for Somerset against SussexImage source, Getty Images

Archie Vaughan loves a square cut. It's short and wide from James Hayes and Vaughan slaps his third four of the innings to the off-side boundary.

All three have been the same shot and Vaughan is quickly onto 15 from 23 deliveries.

  14. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time

    Somerset 207-5 v Sussex

Somerset's run rate just slowed up in that second session between lunch and tea and perhaps the memo is to get a bit more of a move on.

Tom Abell flicks one away off James Coles for another four to move onto 17 from 68 balls.

  15. 'Rew was the important wicket'published at 16:12 British Summer Time

    Somerset 201-5 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms

    Taunton during the tea break

It was good session for Sussex taking three wickets with two of them by the impressive Jack Carson who has bowled with good control.

The important wicket was that of James Rew who had batted effortlessly for 46 before edging to slip where he was well caught by Tom Haines.

However, Haines has since dropped Tom Abell when he was on 13, a sharp chance at first slip.

  16. 200 runs

200 up for Somersetpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time

    Somerset 201-5 v Sussex

We're back under way at Taunton and Archie Vaughan gets the scoreboard rolling once more in style.

Vaughan steps back and crashes a wonderful late cut to the boundary. He stands and admires it and rightly so. No need to run those.

  17. Tea at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time

    Durham v Notts 278-8

Haseeb Hameed picks up a single and Brett Hutton gets off the mark with a couple and that's tea.

No prizes for guessing who will be the happier side over the interval.

Nottinghamshire have piled on 145 runs in the session but have lost seven wickets since lunch.

Codi Yusuf has been the main architect with four wickets this afternoon, while Hameed remains unbeaten on a brilliant 113.

  18. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 203-6

Jonny Bairstow in action for Yorkshire at SurreyImage source, Rex Features

A big blow for Yorkshire as Matthew Revis is caught behind just before tea.

Jonny Bairstow is pretty much keeping Yorkshire in this at the moment with his excellent unbeaten 79 off 97 balls.

Surrey have bowled very well and only Adam Lyth has made any real dent in the scoreboard for Yorkshire other than Bairstow with his 55.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time

    Lord b Raine 4 (Durham v Notts 275-8)

A super delivery from Ben Raine is too good for Rob Lord.

It beats his defensive prod and removes the off-stump, just nine balls before tea.

Notts have been in control for much of the day, but have lost eight wickets as Durham keep on chipping away.

The visitors were 133-1 at lunch.

Brett Hutton joins Haseeb Hameed who could well carry his bat through the innings.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time

    Revis c Foakes b Fisher 19 (Surrey v Yorkshire 203-6)

A big wicket right on the stroke of tea!

It's the final ball before the interval and Matthew Revis has a dabble at it and nicks it behind.

Wicket-keeper Ben Foakes takes the catch and Matt Fisher lets out a cry of relief at taking his first wicket of the game.
