  1. 'Another take for Yates'published at 17:02 British Summer Time

    Warwicks v Hants 229-8

    Kevan James
Former Middlesex & Hampshire cricketer on BBC Radio Solent

It's another take for Rob Yates, such a safe pair of hands.

A really good bit of bowling, Abbott was trying to be positive but he got a thickish edge and found the single fielder.

Another day that flies for four.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time

    Gohar c Budinger b Ahmed 36 (Middlesex 206-8 v Leicestershire)

It's a big heave-ho attempt from Zafar Gohar who looks like he's trying to smash this one out of London but it takes a massive top edge and loops up for Sol Budinger to take the catch behind square.

A first wicket for Rehan Ahmed and Middlesex are on the brink.

Can they get over the line for at least a batting point? They need another 40-odd runs.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time

    Abbott c Yates b Barnard 14 (Warwicks v Hants 223-7)

A fourth catch for Rob Yates!

Kyle Abbott looks to go downtown and smash Ed Barnard back over his head.

But the ball moves back in and a thick outside edge finds the lone slip once more who snaffles a sharp chance, two-handed above his head.

    Brad Wheal is in.

  5. ouch!

Postpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time

    Durham v Notts 316-8

Haseeb Hameed looks to pull a short ball from Ben Raine but it thuds into the helmet.

Due diligence is done as there's a pause to see if the Notts opener - and his headgear is okay.

Raine doesn't hold back and tries another one which Hameed hooks for four.

He shows lovely touch to the next ball as he uses Raine's pace and splits the gap between wicketkeeper and first slip for four more. Hameed has 144.

  6. 'A massive wicket for Surrey'published at 16:56 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 237-7

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

A fine innings from Bairstow, a big wicket.

He's been very dominant in the middle, the partnership were wrestling the initiative back.

A massive wicket for Surrey, a big blow for Yorkshire.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time

    Bairstow c Lawes b Lawrence 89 (Surrey v Yorkshire 237-7)

There isn't going to be a ton for Jonny Bairstow...

He looks to smash Dan Lawrence's off-spinner for six but it's straight down the throat of Tom Lawes at deep backward square leg.

Lawes takes a good catch and Bairstow trudges off 11 short of a century. A fine innings nonetheless.

  8. Postpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 237-6

What an over of batting this is from Jordan Thompson for Yorkshire.

Tom Lawes over-pitches one and Thompson crashes it through mid-on for a third four of the over.

The over comes to an end, 12 off it and Thompson is onto 24 off 32 balls.

Jonny Bairstow is 11 away from a century at the other end.

  9. 200 runs

200 up for Middlesexpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time

    Middlesex 203-7 v Leicestershire

It's been a bit of a scrap for Middlesex today but they've made it to the 200 mark.

Skipper Toby Roland-Jones gets off the mark by flicking one off his legs and past square leg for four.

  10. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time

    Warwicks v Hants 218-7

So close to an eighth Hants wicket!

James Fuller has a life on one. He goes to pull Ed Barnard and gloves it.

Wicketkeeper Alex Davies leaps high and deflects it into the air, close to the dive of Tom Latham.

Kyle Abbott at the other end is in attack mode, walloping Tazeem Ali for six in the previous over.

  11. NORTHANTS ALL OUT FOR 185published at 16:47 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan v Northants 185

Glamorgan's spectacular comeback/Northants' spectacular collapse - delete as appropriate - is complete at Sophia Gardens.

Justin Broad is the last man to depart and his side have been bowled out for 185 in just 65.2 overs.

Incredibly, Northants were looking very comfortable early on, they lost their second with with 105 on the board but went on to lose nine wickets for 80 runs.

An amazing turnaround in Cardiff and quite what Northants fans will have to say about that I don't know - get in touch with your thoughts!

  12. 100 runs

100 for Luke Wellspublished at 16:46 British Summer Time

    Lancs 191-3 v Derbys

    Luke WellsImage source, Gett

    Take a bow, Luke Wells!

He drives Morley through the covers for his 13th four and brings up his century off 212 balls.

In his first innings back at the top of the order, Wells reaches his 27th career first-class century.

It's put under-fire Lancashire in a strong position.

  13. 250 runs

250 up for Somersetpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time

    Somerset 250-5 v Sussex

There's a first batting point for Somerset. Archie Vaughan gets it away and it just makes it over the rope for four to bring the hosts onto 250.

  14. 'They've played some lovely shots'published at 16:45 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 219-6

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

We'll be in for quite a bit of entertainment if these two stick together for a while.

    They've played some lovely shots.

  15. SECOND BATTING POINT FOR NOTTSpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time

    Durham v Notts 301-8

Haseeb Hameed climbs into a pull shot off Ben Raine to collect his 18th boundary and bring up the 300 in the 68th over.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time

    Albert c Yates b Ali 29 (Warwicks v Hants 202-6)

A poor ball from Tazeem Ali as he drops short and Toby Albert cashes in, helping it around the corner for four to bring up the 200.

    Then he's out!

He tries to work the ball into the legside and chips the ball straight to Rob Yates at midwicket. A real soft dismissal.

    Kyle Abbott is in.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time

    Davies b Green 49 (Middlesex 198-7 v Leicestershire)

Jack Davies is bowled by Ben GreenImage source, Rex Features

Absolutely gutting for Jack Davies as he's bowled by Ben Green one run shy of his 50.

It nips back in beautifully and clips the top of off stump.

Middlesex's best partnership of the innings (74) between Davies and Zafar Gohar comes to an end.

  18. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 211-6

Jonny Bairstow plays a very nice shot off the back foot for what is only two in the end as it's cut off on the boundary.

He then flicks one into the leg-side off Tom Lawes to edge closer to a ton (83*).

  19. 50 runs

50 for Chris Benjaminpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time

    Glos v Kent 238-6

Chris Benjamin joins batting partner Grant Stewart in reaching a half-century.

The former's 50 coming in a more patient 129 balls.

Their partnership is now worth over 100 runs - great stuff from lower middle order men.

Kent's top order will be thanking them you'd suspect after failing to fire.

  20. Postpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time

    Somerset 242-5 v Sussex

I don't even want to say it after the commentator's curse striking twice today... But Archie Vaughan is batting very well.

He sweeps one away for four off James Coles and that moves Vaughan onto 30 from just 42 balls.
