The runs continue to flow towards the end of day one as Brett Hutton and Haseeb Hameed take Nottinghamshire to the 350 mark.

Hameed continues on his merry way by taking a 24th boundary of his innings - this time off James Minto - to go to 166.

    Roland-Jones c Patel b van Beek 29 (Middlesex 231-9 v Leicestershire)

Are Middlesex going to fall agonisingly short of a batting point?

Captain Toby Roland-Jones is gone for 29, caught by Rishi Patel off Logan van Beek.

  3. 'He's having a great impact at Warwickshire'published at 17:29 British Summer Time

He's having a great impact at Warwickshire

  4. Postpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 255-9

And now a more conventional shot from Jack White as he punches Nathan Smith down the ground for another four. Lovely shot.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time

    Wheal lbw b Barnard 24 (Warwicks v Hants 266-9)

Brad Wheal gets a little bit squared up by an Ed Barnard ball which hits him on the top of his pad in front of off stump.

The umpire doesn't need much of a look before giving it out.

An entertaining knock from Wheal and Barnard has his best figures of the season (4-47).

    John Turner is last man.

  6. 250 runs

250 up for Yorkshirepublished at 17:24 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 251-9

Yorkshire can breathe a sigh of relief that they've at least got the batting point.

It's unconventional from number 11 Jack White as he manages to awkwardly get it away for four through the offside off Nathan Smith.

    They all count.

  7. Postpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time

    Somerset 289-6 v Sussex

Craig Overton has got the post-tea memo for Somerset too by the looks of it.

He hits Ollie Robinson for two fours in a row - the first an edge down to third man and the second pulled through mid-wicket before Overton takes another single and goes onto 11 from nine balls.

  8. Postpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time

    Durham v Notts 342-8

Brett Hutton (19) is beginning to enjoy himself here as he crashes James Minto through the offside for his second boundary.

His ninth-wicket partnership wth Haseeb Hameed (159) has really begun to frustrate the hosts and is now worth 77 runs.

They're just 10 shy of a third batting point.

  9. 'It's a great catch just inside the boundary'published at 17:19 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 247-9

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It was a good job he was wearing his sunglass otherwise he would never have seen it - it's a great catch just inside the boundary.

They were very close to a battling point, now they're in danger of not getting it at all.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Vaughanpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time

    Somerset 276-6 v Sussex

Archie Vaughan has done a brilliant job batting at number seven and he gets a well-deserved half-century, flicking it off his legs for four.

The 19-year-old has really helped Somerset press on since tea and the hosts are looking good for a decent first innings total as things stand.

Vaughan is onto 52 off 79 balls and that's his second first class 50.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time

    Thompson c Roy b Lawes 30 (Surrey v Yorkshire 247-9)

Jordan Thompson makes a quick 30 off 40 balls before holing out to Jason Roy at fine leg.

Thompson hooks one off Tom Lawes but Roy does well to get around to it and make the catch.

Can Yorkshire get over the line for a batting point? Three runs needed.

  12. 150 runs

100 for Grant Stewartpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time

    Glos v Kent 300-6

    Grant StewartImage source, Getty Images

Brilliant stuff from Grant Stewart who reaches his century in 120 balls.

Chris Benjamin is still in at the other end on 62 and the duo's partnership is now worth 163 - basically they've scored more than half their team's runs!

Glos started so well this morning reducing Kent to 36-3 and then 64-4 but they haven't been able to break this partnership and Kent are up to 300 to claim a second batting point.

  13. 'He's given a good account of himself'published at 17:14 British Summer Time

    Somerset 270-6 v Sussex

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It was a good ball, Abell tried to play a defensive shot, I don't think he could have done much more.

It pitched and bounced and the outside edge meant a straightforward catch.

He's given a good account of himself out there, it's not an easy pitch to bat on.

  14. First batting point for Hampshirepublished at 17:14 British Summer Time

    Warwicks v Hants 257-8

James Fuller is playing a decent hand here and has helped drag Hampshire towards 250.

They've only achieved five such bonus points all season, so it's not to be sniffed at.

The Hants all-rounder then nudges a single to move to 24 off 29 balls.

Brad Wheal drives beautifully through the covers for four and then guides the ball down to third man for a single.

Wheal then smacks a stylish pull through midwicket off Che Simmons to bring up the magic mark. Back-to-back boundaries as Wheal goes to 17 off 14 balls.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time

    Abell c Clark b Robinson 42 (Somerset 270-6 v Sussex)

It's on a length outside off stump from Ollie Robinson and Tom Abell gets lured into trying to get bat on ball.

He didn't need to really and he'll be disappointed with that as he edges it into the slips and straight to Tom Clark to gobble up.

The new ball pays dividends and Abell, who was looking good, is gone.

Perhaps more importantly for Sussex, it brings to an end a fine 83-run partnership between Abell and Archie Vaughan.

  16. 200 runs

200 up for Worcspublished at 17:10 British Summer Time

    Worcs 259-7 v Essex

Tom Taylor helps himself to three consecutive fours off Noah Thain to push the Pears over 250 and secure the first batting point.

That didn't always look likely earlier today.

  17. 'Surrey will be happy with this'published at 17:06 British Summer Time

    Surrey v Yorkshire 239-8

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

You can see how disappointed he is, he's just chipped it back down the pitch, a good catch from Dan Lawrence.

Surrey will be happy with this at the moment. With the way we are going, they will be in to bat tonight.

  18. 50 runs

    Worcs 247-7 v Essex

Matthew Waite (31*) and Tom Taylor (20*) have added 50 together and pushed Worcs towards the 250 mark against Essex.

These are valuable runs and the Pears need the duo to keep going.

150 for Haseeb Hameedpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time

    Durham v Notts 327-8

    Haseeb HameedImage source, Rex Features

A captain's innings if ever there was one.

Having already surpassed his previous high score of the season - an unbeaten 138 away to Warwickshire - Hameed reaches 150 off 186 balls as he hooks Codi Yusuf for his 22nd four.

The Notts skipper has also smacked a couple of sixes and has helped his side to a strong position.

He's getting some sensible, solid support at the other end from Brett Hutton (13). The ninth-wicket pair have put on 52.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time

    Hoad c & b Lawrence 1 (Surrey v Yorkshire 239-8)

    One brings two...

Things were looking quite good for Yorkshire about 10 minutes ago but all of a sudden their tail is exposed.

Ben Coad just chips one back at Dan Lawrence, who still has a lot of work to do to dive to his right but he takes a brilliant catch.

Two vital wickets in quick succession for Lawrence and you'd have to say it's advantage Surrey at this stage.
