  1. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 16 May

    Warwicks v Hants 189-5

Tazeem Ali to bowl the final over before tea.

The spinner has been highly economical and his seventh over costs just a single to Toby Albert.

Hampshire have had the better of things in the afternoon, adding 104 runs for the loss of Mark Stoneman (48) and Ben Brown (29).

A mature knock from Liam Dawson (41) in a 59-run partnership with Albert (21) has steadied the ship after Hants seemed to be staring down the barrel.

  2. 'Hampshire will be the happier'published at 16:01 British Summer Time 16 May

    Warwicks v Hants 189-5

    Kevan James
Former Middlesex & Hampshire cricketer on BBC Radio Solent

You do feel this wicket is pretty flat, I think batting second here will not be a bad time to bat.

Hampshire need to make sure they build up enough runs. I think they'll be the happier in the second session.

It should be a really interesting evening.

  3. 200 runs

200 up for Yorkshirepublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 200-5

Jonny Bairstow nudges one to square leg from Dan Lawrence's off-spin for Yorkshire to take them onto 200 in the penultimate over before tea.

    Bairstow moves onto 76.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 16 May

    Jones c Das b Thain 54 (Worcs 192-7 v Essex)

A silly way to get out so close to tea as Rob Jones goes for one shot too many and pulls one to Robin Das at deep mid-wicket.

He didn't get hold of it properly and rather gives up his innings which he worked so hard in - 54 from 117 balls - it was a fine knock until the end!

Every time the Pears have built up a decent looking partnership they have lost a wicket and Essex will feel confident about polishing them off after tea.

  5. Durham's sessionpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 16 May

    Notts 266-7 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham only took one wicket before lunch, with Notts 133-1 at the break. But closing in to tea they are now seven down.

Codi Yusuf has taken four of the wickets to fall this afternoon, as he saw off Freddie McCann for 26 and Joe Clarke for one. McCann was caught behind while Clarke was bowled.

He also claimed the wickets of Kyle Vereynne for 41 and Lyndon James for 21. They were caught behind too.

Brydon Carse saw off Jack Haynes for one. He was caught and bowled. Meanwhile Liam Patterson-White was bowled for a third-ball duck by George Drissell.

At the other end Haseeb Hameed has led a bit of a charmed life. The inside edge of his bat has been in regular use as he's struggled to time the ball. He's on 108 but has nearly chopped on a number of times.

  6. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 16 May

    Warwicks v Hants 180-5

Toby Albert advances down the wicket and plonks Rob Yates way back into the stands.

The Hampshire batter has been watchful up this point and goes to 16 off 46 balls.

Albert then takes a single to bring up the 50 stand with Liam Dawson. It's come off 91 balls.

  7. Tea at Lord'spublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 16 May

    Middlesex 187-6 v Leicestershire

It's been a good day so far for Leicestershire, no doubt. But Jack Davies and Zafar Gohar have rallied well for Middlesex to carry them to 187-6 at tea at Lord's.

Davies is 45 not out, Zafar is on 28.

  8. 'He has been the rock for Notts'published at 15:53 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 265-7

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Hereford & Worcestershire

Hameed has been out there from the very first ball, he's batted so well.

He has been the rock for Notts, it's his 17th first-class hundred. He's held this innings together.

There's been moments of good fortune but he's made the most of it.

  9. 100 runs

100 for Haseeb Hameedpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 265-7

Haseeb Hameed has enjoyed a few slices of fortune today, but has combined them with some super attacking shots.

His second century of the season - and the 17th of his career - scampers through for two to bring up the landmark off 147 balls.

The former England opener has hit 14 fours and two sixes. Massive innings for his county.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Rob Jonespublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 16 May

    Worcs 187-6 v Essex

    A flurry of 50s!

Worcestershire's Rob Jones gets in on the act with one of his own as he cuts a shot away to the boundary.

His came from 107 balls in 146 minutes out in the sun.

The Pears needed an innings from him and he has delivered.

Ethan Brookes departed for 31 a short time ago and it's now Matthew Waite alongside Jones with tea imminent.

  11. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 193-5 v Sussex

Plenty of action and plenty of talking points in that second session.

Tom Lammonby made a 50 and Tom Banton was controversially given out caught behind when he didn't appear to hit it.

Finely poised as the two sets of players head for tea.

  12. Postpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 186-5

Dan Lawrence, recently brought on for a bit of spin, throws up a juicy full toss outside off stump and Matthew Revis duly obliges to swat it away for four.

Two boundaries in a row takes Revis to 17. Jonny Bairstow still going strong at the other end on 64.

  13. 'It's good from Surrey'published at 15:44 British Summer Time 16 May

    Surrey v Yorkshire 186-5

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It's good from Surrey this, they've cut out the boundaries for Bairstow.

He was flying but he's been kept off strike. It's almost as if Surrey are happy to give Bairstow singles just to get Revis on strike.

  14. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 16 May

    Middlesex 178-6 v Leicestershire

Middlesex's first 50 partnership of the match has come at a very important time.

Jack Davies moves onto 42 off 62 balls for the hosts, while Zafar Gohar is on 27 from 58 deliveries.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Grant Stewartpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 16 May

    Glos v Kent 210-6

    Well batted Grant Stewart.

He arrived with his side wobbling on 137-6 but has enjoyed himself since joining the action, reaching 50 from 60 balls.

His partnership with Chris Benjamin (38*) is now worth 75.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 16 May

    Patterson-White b Drissell 0 (Durham v Notts 254-7)

    Another one bites the dust!

Some collapse this as Notts lose a sixth wicket of the session.

Liam Patterson-White scored a century last weekend and today goes for a third-ball duck. Cricket, hey?

George Drissell sneaks one straight through the defences of the left-hander.

Rob Lord comes to the crease.

  17. 'Banton used up all his luck'published at 15:39 British Summer Time 16 May

    Somerset 191-5 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Banton must have used up all of his luck in that 361.

He will be in trouble for his clear dissent, I don't think he was anywhere near it, I think it hit John Simpson's glove.

Banton was very slow getting off the pitch, he said something to both the umpires.

  18. Division Two updatepublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 16 May

A 60-run partnership between Chris Benjamin (37*) and Grant Stewart (45*) has moved Kent past 200 as we approach the tea interval.

They are 202-6 after being 36-3 and 64-4 earlier so it's been a decent comeback.

Glamorgan have had a brilliant afternoon session, they reduced Northants from 105-2 to 140-7 earlier, with the visitors now on 153-7.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 16 May

    James c Robinson b Yusuf 21 (Durham v Notts 251-6)

A really disappointing end to an enterprising innings as Lyndon James becomes the fifth wicket to fall of the session.

James has thrown the bat and goes again, swinging loosely at a good length Codi Yusuf delivery which takes the outside edge and gives Ollie Robinson his fourth catch of the day.

A soft dismissal and Durham will be delighted. Yusuf has 4-81.

Liam Patterson-White joins opener Haseeb Hameed.

  20. 250 runs

First batting point for Nottinghamshirepublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 16 May

    Durham v Notts 250-5

Haseeb Hameed (92) picks up a single from George Drissell and takes the visitors to the 250 mark after 56 overs.

A healthy run rate at a tick under four-and-a-half an over.

Entertaining day at Chester-le-Street so far.
