Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris are very very close, there is nothing between the two on track at the moment.

  2. Ten-second time penalty for Sainzpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lap 44/57

The stewards have been busy tonight. Carlos Sainz made that move on the Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli at the restart, forcing the Italian wide at Turn 10. Race control think it was a bit too hot and have handed the Williams man a 10-second penalty for forcing another driver off the track.

Jack Doohan is keeping up with the points places in ninth spot as his Alpine team-mate Pierre Gasly continues to impress in sixth - one place higher than the Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

Oscar Piastri is 2.5 seconds clear of the Mercedes of George Russell; Lando Norris is creeping within DRS ranging of the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc.

A big shout-out to Pierre Gasly in the Alpine who is still lapping very quickly and holding up the current world champion Max Verstappen.

That safety car has really closed everybody up, it has brought this race alive certainly through the midfield with battles all over the place and wheel-to-wheel racing.

  8. Postpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lap 39/57

Oscar Piastri is holding his nerve out in front by three seconds from, I think, George Russell. The timing screen has Russell all the way down in 20th place!

  9. Postpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lap 38/57

Lando Norris does give the place back to Lewis Hamilton and a few corners later, passes the Ferrari in the right way on track to take third place. No idea what's happening with George Russell; the Mercedes is bouncing up and down the timing screen!

  10. Postpublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 13 April

    Marc Priestley
Former F1 mechanic on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Oscar Piastri did exactly what he needed to do, he's been calm, controlled and measured all the way from the lights going out at the beginning of the race through to now.

  11. Team radio - Hamiltonpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 13 April

"Lando passed me off the track"

  12. Postpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lap 37/57

Lando Norris passed the Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton but the seven-time world champion thinks the move was off the track. The McLaren driver will probably have to give that place back.

  13. Go! Go! Go!published at 17:06 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lap 36/57

Oscar Piastri goes early as the race restarts. Lando Norris is trying to gain places but he ends being squashed in the fight and is passed by Lewis Hamilton. Kimi Antonelli has also lost a spot to the Williams of Carlos Sainz, who is now 13th.

I don't think that stop has helped out Ferrari, the timing was terrible for them because they've lost their early advantage of being on the tyre offset, it's now a straight run to the flag for the top five.

  15. Postpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 13 April

Leader Oscar Piastri is on new mediums, George Russell is on used softs, while Charles Leclerc is on the hards and Lando Norris is another medium runner.

  16. Safety carpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lap 35/57

McLaren are telling Lando Norris about George Russell's concerns over his newly-fitted soft tyre, to which the Briton responds he shouldn't be nervous, he'll be alright.

    Safety car ending soon..

  17. Team radio - Russellpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 13 April

"24 laps on the soft. This is pretty audacious."

  18. Team radio - Hamiltonpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 13 April

"Great job with the stops guys. Great job."

  19. Safety carpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lap 34/57

Lewis Hamilton is up into fifth place and calls his Ferrari pit wall to say they've done a sterling job with the stops.

A replay shows there was also contact between the Racing Bulls of Liam Lawson and the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll. But it was the Red Bull-Williams tag that caused the debris on track.

Yuki Tsunoda and Carlos Sainz have been noted for that collision by race control.
