  1. wicket

WICKET Montgomery c Lammonby b Overton 48published at 15:04 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 153-6

    Another start, another wicket.

Matt Montgomery looked a cert for his fourth first-class 50 but Craig Overton had other ideas.

He angles one into off stump and this time takes the edge after a host of plays and misses.

Tom Lammonby does the rest at second slip with a low catch.

  2. 'Davey deserved that wicket'published at 15:04 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 139-5

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Lovely shape from that delivery from Josh Davey, he just angled the ball into the right hander, on the line of off stump, he had to play at it and then it just did enough to take the outside edge.

Davey deserved that wicket, he's bowled very nicely here today.

He bowled very well in his first spell this morning without much luck

  3. 'Probably not Root's best ever shot'published at 15:04 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 87-5

    Guy Swindells
    BBC Radio London

If you are going to pick up your first wicket of the season, Joe Root is not a bad one to pick up.

Probably not Root's best ever shot but it was a good piece of bowling non the less from Tom Helm.

  4. wicket

WICKET de Leede lbw b Finch 3published at 15:01 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs v Durham 140-6

Durham are in deep trouble in Kidderminster.

Bas de Leede looks to whip Adam Finch through the on side but played right across the line and is trapped in front.

Durham have now slumped from 90-2 to 140-6.

  5. 150 runs

150 up for Nottspublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 150-5.

Lyndon James takes three off Josh Davey and the 150 comes up in the 49th over.

Aside from a 66-run stand between Joe Clarke and Matt Montgomery, the visitors have struggled to forge meaningful partnerships.

You feel they need plenty more to make par after opting to bat.

  6. Postpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs v Durham 137-5

    Ollie Robinson has seen enough.

With wickets tumbling at the other end, the Durham wicketkeeper decides it's time for a counter-attack.

He clobbers Joe Leach for the first six of the match and then follows it up with a boundary to move to 22 off just 17 balls.

    Dare we mention Bazball?

  7. wicket

WICKET Masood lbw Bamber 33published at 14:55 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 87-5

Shan Masood responds to the dismissal of Joe Root and Harry Brook by uppercutting Tom Helm over backward point for six.

The Yorkshire skipper, though, is pinned on the crease by Ethan Bamber, bowling round the wicket, in the next over and he is gone.

The tykes in disarray now and in need of a solid partnership to stabilise the innings.

  8. wicket

WICKET Haynes c Rew b Davey 5published at 14:51 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 139-5

    Josh Davey has deserved that.

He angles one in towards off stump, forcing Joe Haynes to play and he feathers a chance behind to give James Rew his second routine catch of the day.

His 16-ball stay is done and Somerset are rampant. Lyndon James takes his place.

  9. wicket

WICKET Clark lbw b Holder 5published at 14:51 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs v Durham 121-5

Jason Holder is causing plenty of problems on his first bowl at Kidderminster, and now has Graham Clark.

Clark looked a little surprised to see the finger go up when he was pinned in front by the West Indies captain. Maybe he thought it felt a little high.

But he's on his way after a 16-ball stay and Bas de Leede is in.

The Pears are well on top here and that's a third wicket of the session.

  10. 150 runs

150 up for Bearspublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 151-1

Ian Holland is too full and Alex Davies does not pass up the opportunity to cream a straight drive for four.

After the reprieve of the no-ball in the previous over, Davies will look to take full advantage as he moves to 69.

  11. wicket

WICKET Brook c du Plooy b Bamber 3published at 14:48 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 80-4

    Harry BrookImage source, Rex Features

Yorkshire's two England batting stars depart in the space of three overs at Lord's - for a combined total of eight runs.

It's a similar dismissal to Joe Root as Harry Brook tries to drive Ethan Bamber without any significant movement of the front foot and Leus du Plooy plunges to his right at second slip to take the catch.

Middlesex on top now and a lot depending on Yorkshire skipper Shan Masood, who is 26 not out.

  12. Delay goes on at Canterburypublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 19 April

    Kent 2-0 v Surrey

Following just 11 balls of play at the start of the afternoon session, there will be an early tea at Canterbury at 15:15. It will be followed 30 minutes later by an inspection by the umpires.

  13. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 138-4

It's a case of what might have been so far today for Notts.

Will Young, Ben Slater and Joe Clarke have all made starts only then to fall when well set.

Matt Montgomery has done the hard yards and made it to 40 off 74 balls against some testing bowling.

Can he be the one to kick on? The visitors need him to.

His partner Joe Haynes gets off the mark with his 13th ball and then promptly punishes a loose ball from Shoaib Bashir with his first boundary.

  14. Play resumespublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 146-1

A very brief interlude indeed at the Utilita Bowl.

James Fuller to resume his over.

  15. Division Two updatepublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 19 April

Marcus Harris has a stroke of luck as he drives at a very wide one from Blair Tickner and edges just wide of a diving third slip. The Leicestershire opener is 44 not out in their 85-1 at Derby.

Ollie Robinson is back into the attack for Sussex at Hove, but Gloucestershire are 94-2 in the 33rd over, with Ben Charlesworth now on 30.

Having been reduced to 27-4, Glamorgan have steadied the ship a little at Northampton where they are now 71-4 after 22 overs. Colin Ingram is 24 not out and Chris Cooke has 14.

  16. 'Batting doesn’t look easy'published at 14:43 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 31-2

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Sam Cook and Jamie Porter are as skilful an opening bowling pair as any in county cricket, combine that with ideal overhead conditions, a tricky 45-minute batting session and the return of the Dukes ball, there probably wasn’t a great deal to gain for Lancashire this morning.

Both openers are gone, a fine catch from Matt Critchley seeing the end of Keaton Jennings, and an LBW which could have been sliding down the legside, the undoing of Luke Wells.

Batting doesn’t look easy, this could be a good toss to win.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 146-1

James Fuller will have a bit longer to reflect on that no-ball as the players are heading off as a shower passes over the ground.

This feels like the theme of this opening day.

  18. Not outpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 146-1

James Fuller gets Alex Davies to chop one on to leg stump.

    What happens next?

The umpire's arm is outstretched to signal a no-ball from Fuller. No wicket and two runs added to the total.

  19. Pitch inspection at 3pmpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 31-2

The rain has stopped and the groundstaff are now undertaking to remain the covers.

If any more rain does not fall, there will be an inspection by the umpires at 15:00 BST.

  20. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 75-3

Tom Helm does find the edge of Harry Brook's bat with the final ball of his over, but it doesn't carry to slip. Unlucky.
