  1. Umpires hope for Canterbury resumptionpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 19 April

    Kent 2-0 v Surrey

It looks like we might see some more cricket at the Spitfire Ground after only 11 balls earlier in the day.

The umpires hope to re-start at 16:15 with 37 overs to be bowled to the close.

  2. Cook on the moneypublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 49-4

Sam Cook may not have the express pace that England want, but what a fine bowler he is.

Accurate, probing, fit. He is a dream for Essex captain Tom Westley.

    His current figures read 9-5-12-1.

  3. 'Davies has made a real impact as Bears skipper'published at 16:02 British Summer Time 19 April

    Tea: Hampshire v Warwickshire 202-1

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

An excellent innings from Alex Davies, fairly even-paced as well.

The Bears skipper with his second century in April having taken over the captaincy he's made a real impact.

  4. Postpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 192-9

Luke Fletcher seems to have decided to go down swinging and is giving himself plenty of room.

He connects with one Migael Pretorius delivery but has yet to connect with another.

The Bulwell Bomber survives another run-out attempt after an edgy single. I don't think he has much faith in the batting of Dane Paterson.

  5. 50 runs

for Miles Hammondpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 19 April

    Sussex v Glos 160-2

Miles Hammond follows partner Ben Charlesworth to 50 by pushing a ball from spinner Jack Carson away square for a single.

It has taken him 98 balls and included a six and six fours.

This partnership is now worth 99.

  6. wicket

WICKET Balderson c Pepper b Cook 10published at 15:58 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 49-4

You don't usually keep Sam Cook out of the wickets and he duly obliges.

He has been really troubling George Balderson and the batter is almost put of his misery as he edges behind.

It's another ball in the right spot from Cook, getting one to go away from the left-hander from around the wicket.

Lancashire in a lot of trouble here.

  7. Tea at Utilita Bowlpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 202-1

And with that four, Davies and Will Rhodes walk off tea.

They have added 86 runs in that session for the loss of Rob Yates and this partnership is worth 84.

Hampshire need a few wickets after tea to try to fight their way back into this contest.

  8. 100 runs

The first century of round three goes to Warwickshire's Alex Davies.

With the final ball before tea, he drives Kyle Abbott down to the boundary for the four runs he needs to reach his hundred.

It has taken him 166 balls - 82 for his first 50, and 84 for his second, so very nicely paced.

Following on from his 256 last week, the Bears skipper is a man in great nick.

  9. Close!published at 15:51 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 41-3

As Roland Butcher is saying, this is hard work for the Lancashire batters.

No wickets yet for Sam Cook, but he has George Balderson in trouble with the Lancashire number four squared up.

But the ball goes offside and is just short of Feroze Khushi in the covers.

  10. wicket

WICKET Hutton run out 20published at 15:50 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 185-9

    Oh dear, oh dear.

Brett Hutton clips one to midwicket and sets off for a single, but Luke Fletcher continues yo lean on his bat.

Hutton would still have got home, but a direct hit from the golden left arm of Lewis Goldsworthy does for the Notts paceman.

A bonus for Somerset, more gloom for Nottinghamshire. Will they still be batting at tea? Dane Paterson is the new man.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Ben Charlesworthpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 19 April

    Sussex v Glos 153-2

That's the way to do it.

Ben Charlesworth picks up Fynn Hudson-Prentice for a maximum and has his second half-century of the season, this one taking him 117 deliveries.

He follows that by driving straight down the ground for four as the Gloucestershire total passes 150.

  12. 'It's hard work for Lancashire'published at 15:48 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 37-3

    Roland Butcher
Former Middlesex and England batter on BBC Essex

It's very hard work here for Lancashire today. They lost the toss and they're in a contest because Essex have picked up those three early wickets.

Runs are at a premium today, the bowlers are very much in control

    Image caption,

Apparently that is Jordan Cox underneath the snood!

Shane Snater is bowling to Tom Bruce, who plays the ball out to short cover, where it is fielded by Jordan Cox.

The fielder is wrapped up with a snood around his face to keep out the Arctic conditions in Chelmsford!

  14. wicket

WICKET Hill b Higgins 16published at 15:46 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 131-8

With the wicketkeeper standing up to the stumps, George Hill tries to pull a ball from Ryan Higgins but it isn't short enough for the shot and he is cleaned up.

That is 3-25 for Higgins as former Surrey spinner Dan Moriarty comes out at number 10. Still almost 20 minutes to go until tea.

  15. wicket

WICKET Robinson c Roderick b Waite 55published at 15:45 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs v Durham 202-8

Just a few balls after bringing up his third half-century of the season - and 21st first-class 50 of his career - Ollie Robinson falls.

Matthew Waite thought his luck was out when the Durha keeper edged him between wicketkeeper and first slip.

But Robinson plays at the next one and edges tamely into the grateful gloves of Gareth Roderick.

A fine 43-ball knock comes to an end.

  16. wicket

WICKET James lbw b Pretorius 18published at 15:44 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 183-8

Notts lose a fifth wicket of the session as Lyndon James falls to Migael Pretorius just before tea.

He plays all around a straight ball and is trapped plum in front to give the South African his first wicket of the day.

The unmistakeable figure of Luke Fletcher joins Brett Hutton at the crease.

  17. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 191-1

The Warwickshire batters have been quite restrained this afternoon, but that is a shot of real authority as Will Rhodes drives Kyle Abbott past mid-on for four.

Rhodes moves to 29 as he and Alex Davies set up a fantastic platform for this Bears innings.

The start of a new Ethan Bamber over and Ben Coad clubs the first ball back over his head baseball-style (that's baseball, not Bazball - although it could, we suppose, be either) for four.

George Hill attempts an airy drive, but the only thing he makes contact with is air.

Four leg byes brings up the fifty partnership for the eighth wicket between Ollie Robinson and Ben Raine.

There have been moments of real counter-attack in this 45-ball stand, Raine taking 25 of those 50, while Robinson is approaching his fifty.
