  1. wicket

WICKET Ackermann lbw b Leach 47published at 14:35 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs v Durham 112-4

A big wicket for the Pears and a second of the day for Joe Leach.

He angles one across Colin Ackermann and it thuds into his pad in front of leg stump.

It looks like it may have gone past leg, but the umpire raises his finger and Ackermann falls short of his 64th first-class half-century.

Graham Clark joins Ollie Robinson and Durham are in a bit of a hole.

  2. wicket

WICKET Root c Higgins b Helm 5published at 14:32 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 75-3

You have to say that by Joe Root's standards, that isn't a great shot.

Tom Helm finds a little bit of swing but the England batter plays well away from his body and Ryan Higgins takes the catch at gully.

Helm bangs the next one in to Harry Brook and the keeper and slips are convinced there was a nick. The umpire says there wasn't. Close.

  3. Postpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 141-1

Last year. the average first innings score at the Utilita Bowl was 229.

Last week, the scores were 367 and 484 and Warwickshire look well placed to go a long way past that 229-mark.

Hampshire bowlers are toiling away but they are not finding this pitch especially conducive.

  4. wicket

WICKET Clarke c&b Bashir 39published at 14:30 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 118-4

Shoaib Bashir takes a wicketImage source, Rex Features

    Big, big breakthrough for Somerset.

Joe Clarke has hit centuries in both of his previous first innings this season, but not this time.

He was beginning to look ominous with some lovely strokes, but goes in bizarre fashion.

It's not a great ball from Shoaib Bashir, and Clarke looks to clip it for a single into the legside, but spoons it up in the air where Bashir takes a comfy catch at short midwicket.

  5. Postpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 75-2

TRJ gives Joe Root enough room outside off to open the face and run it towards third man - but he has to settle for three because of a slow outfield.

The next one is too straight and Shan Masood clips is away unerringly for four. The bowler responds with an excellent yorker but Masood manages to dig it out just in time.

  6. 100 up for Durhampublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs v Durham 102-2

Jason Holder tempts Ollie Robinson to play at one outside his off stump.

It misses his edge by a whisker on its way through to wicketkeeper Gareth Roderick.

He responds with a lovely stroke through midwicket for four to bring up three figures off 31 overs.

That will give the Durham keeper a bit of encouragement.

  7. wicket

WICKET Patel b Tickner 36published at 14:26 British Summer Time 19 April

    Derbys v Leics 65-1

    Blair TicknerImage source, Getty Images

A breakthrough by Derbyshire as Blair Tickner flattens Rishi Patel's off stump.

The New Zealander bowls with a fairly low arm but there was plenty of nip about that one and Leicestershire's opening partnership is broken.

Louis Kimber is in at three.

  8. Rhodes in formpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 135-1

Warwickshire openers Rob Yates and Alex Davies are men in form, but Will Rhodes has not been too shabby either.

He hit 64 against Worcestershire and followed up with an unbeaten 178 against Durham.

The ex-captain has seven to his name at this stage.

  9. wicket

    WICKET Bean b Roland-Jones 29published at 14:18 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 64-2

Two streaky boundaries for Finlay Bean off Tom Helm, up and over the slip cordon.

There won't be any more, though, as he is bowled through the gate at the start of Toby Roland-Jones' next over. A little inside edge, perhaps.

Joe Root comes to the crease.

  10. Division Two updatepublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 19 April

Play has resumed at Derby and Leicestershire are now 64-0 in the 20th over, with Rishi Patel still 35 not out and Marcus Harris on 26.

Colin Ingram and Chris Cooke are now together - both four not out - for Glamorgan, who are 35-4 in the 15th against Northants.

Play will re-start at Hove at 14:25, with Gloucestershire 82-2 against Sussex - with Ben Charlesworth on 24 and Miles Hammond 11.

  11. wicket

WICKET Bedingham b Holder 38published at 14:15 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs v Durham 90-3

What a start to the afternoon session!

Jason Holder opens up after lunch and bowls David Bedingham with the final ball of his comeback over.

It breaks a 71-run stand and the Pears have their tails up.

Ollie Robinson comes to the crease.

  12. 'Warwickshire are building a solid base'published at 14:14 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 132-1

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Warwickshire are building a solid base of which to get a decent first innings total.

They did it last week against Durham (343). Are they going to get anywhere near that today because the wicket is playing very nicely?

Even though we've got a Dukes ball and not a Kookaburra, you wouldn't know it because not too much has beaten the bat.

  13. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 109-3

Joe Clarke leans into Craig Overton's first ball of the new over and pushes it elegantly through the covers for four.

It's a lovely shot and brings up the 50 partnership with Matt Montgomery.

Clarke then helps himself to another boundary off Overton to move to 33 off 57 balls.

Overton is ticking and sends down a bouncer, served up with a few words of advice for the Notts man.

  14. 100 up for Nottspublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 101-3

There's still plenty of green tinges on the pitch, but it's time for our first over of spin at Taunton.

After a superb winter with England in India, Shoaib Bashir shuffles in for his first over.

Matt Montgomery nudges a single before Joe Clarke shows immediate intent, coming down the pitch and smacking the bowler for a huge six.

It brings up three figures for Notts.

  15. 50 runs

50 up for Yorkshirepublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx v Yorks 51-1

An early boundary for Yorkshire as play resumes at Lord's, with Shan Masood elegantly stroking TRJ into the wide open spaces.

Tom Helm bowls his first over of the game from the other end and Finlay Bean flips him through square leg for four as Yorkshire's total passes 50.

  16. rain stops play

Rain stops play in Chelmsfordpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 31-2

The rain has returned in Chelmsford and there will be no imminent resumption.

Today is definitely living up to the term 'April showers'.

    All very frustrating.

  17. Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset v Notts 89-3

There's a decent crowd in at Taunton, unsurprisingly considering it's the first home match of the season.

The sun may be shining over the distant Quantocks, but it's definitely a day for layers if you're a spectator. A chilly wind is sweeping across the ground.

Lewis Gregory and Craig Overton are keeping things tight, but Matt Montgomery and Joe Clarke look reasonably comfortable.

Montgomery pulls Overton through midwicket for his first boundary of the afternoon session to move to 21.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Alex Daviespublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 121-1

It feels like Alex Davies has been close to 50 for a while in this innings but a boundary off Kyle Abbott takes him to his half century.

It has taken him 82 balls, but he is still 205 shy of his effort from last week at the moment.

  19. wicket

WICKET Carlson b Weatherall 7published at 14:00 British Summer Time 19 April

    Northants v Glamorgan 27-4

Raphael Weatherall bowls Kiran CarlsonImage source, Getty Images

    That is a beauty.

Raphael Weatherall bounds in for his fourth delivery after being called up to replace Ben Sanderson and it just does enough off the pitch to beat Kiran Carlson's defensive push and hit off stump.

Experienced Chris Cooke is the next man in and he glances the young paceman away fine for four.

  20. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Canterburypublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 19 April

    Kent 2-0 v Surrey

They went off for bad light after only 11 balls had been bowled following a wash-out this morning.

Now the rain has returned and extra covers are being put in place by the groundstaff. This is very disappointing.
