  1. Postpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset 39-0 v Notts 193

An athletic stop in his follow through from Dane Paterson denies Sean Dickson a straight driven four.

The Somerset openers have looked largely untroubled after 15 overs on what looks a decent pitch for run-making.

Dickson moves on to 21 off 39 and Matt Renshaw has 18 from 48.

Notts were battered by 399 runs on their last visit to Taunton and will be desperate to make inroads before the close.

Eighteen overs left in the day.

  2. wicket

WICKET Davies c Vince b Dawson 149published at 17:24 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 290-2

Hampshire will be relieved to see the back of Alex Davies.

The Warwickshire skipper was close to his 150 off the previous ball and in trying to turn one to leg, Liam Dawson gets one to straighten a touch and the edge goes into the hands of slip.

A fine knock from Davies off 229 balls and a super partnership of 174 with Will Rhodes.

  3. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 73-6

Jamie Porter is brought back into the Essex attack and he nearly has his first wicket.

He draws the edge of Tom Bailey's bat and it rushes towards Matt Critchley in a fourth slip/gully position but he can't cling on to it left-handed.

It would have been a blinding catch, but it has to go down as a drop.

  4. Postpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs 6-1 v Durham 244

Jake Libby takes guard for his first ball as Matthew Potts runs in to bowl.

The Worcestershire opener strokes the second ball for four, but that's the only scoring action of the second over.

Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira now awaits his first ball from Ben Raine.

  5. Postpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx 30-1 v Yorks 159

Two fours in three balls for Max Holden off Jordan Thompson.

The first is steered past backward point and soft hands allow him to guide the second down past the slips to third man.

Definitely not an edge - a deliberate stroke.

  6. 'It's tough batting in these conditions'published at 17:18 British Summer Time 19 April

    Northants v Glamorgan 119-5

    Andrew Radd
    BBC Radio Northampton

The floodlights are having quite a big effect, they are beginning to cast shadows which is never a great sign in terms of getting a lot more cricket, but at least we are playing at the moment.

There is heavy overcast, battleship grey sky.

It's not particularly pleasant conditions for anybody but particularly for batting - it's very tough.

A good toss for Northamptonshire to win without doubt.

  7. Latest from Derbypublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 19 April

    Derbys v Leics 85-1

If there is no further rain, play will resume at 17:30, with 18 overs to be bowled. Those with good memories will know that Marcus Harris is 44 not out for Leicestershire and Louis Kimber has two.

  8. wicket

WICKET Roderick c Robinson b Raine 2published at 17:14 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs 2-1 v Durham 244

Jake Libby and Gareth Roderick stride to the middle to begin the Worcestershire reply after bowling out Durham for 244.

Ben Raine is first to take the new ball, just 10 or so short minutes after unstrapping his pads.

Roderick opens up with a two, but then pokes at a ball outside off stump which nipped away a little and Ollie Robinson takes the catch.

    Terrific start for Durham.

  9. Postpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 72-6

Tom Bailey is the new Lancashire batter in at number eight - at least one place too high for his ability.

Essex will fancy their chances of batting before this evening.

  10. 50 runs

50 up for Kentpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 19 April

    Kent 51-2 v Surrey

    Daniel Bell-DrummondImage source, Rex Features

Surrey skipper Rory Burns calls up Tom Lawes for his first over of the Kent first innings.

He is too short with his third delivery and Daniel Bell-Drummond has loads of time to cut it away in front of square for four and move to 34 not out.

The next one is fuller and DBD punches it down the ground and runs three to push Kent's total past 50.

  11. wicket

WICKET Hurst c Pepper b Cook 3published at 17:11 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 71-6

This is relentless stuff from the Essex attack.

It's that teasing length again from Sam Cook and it tempts Matty Hurst forward and it's well taken behind the stumps by Michael Pepper.

    Excellent bowling again from Cook.

  12. Postpublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset 31-0 v Notts 193

Dane Paterson thinks he has run out Matt Renshaw but he is the only one.

Sean Dickson hits a beautiful straight drive which hits the stumps on its way to the crease.

The Notts bowler appeals vociferously to the umpires, convinced his fingers had deflected the ball onto the stumps with Renshaw out of his ground.

He did look to have got a touch, but Renshaw was in his ground.

  13. 150 standpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 266-1

Liam Dawson in to Will Rhodes and that is played out on to the legside for a single that clocks up the 150 partnership.

They have batted together for nearly two hours and 248 balls and have not really looked in too much trouble.

  14. wicket

WICKET Fernandes b Thompson 6published at 17:07 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx 18-1 v Yorks 159

Fine ball by Jordan Thompson. Nathan Fernandes tries to flick it away towards mid-wicket but there's enough movement to beat the bat and clean him up.

Tough for a youngster in these conditions and Fernandes has now been replaced by Max Holden.

  15. 'It's been a game where the ball has dominated'published at 17:05 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 68-5

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

We've got some sunshine so fingers crossed.

It's been a game where the ball has dominated.

  16. Division Two updatepublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 19 April

Northamptonshire's Ben Sanderson is looking to add to his three wickets so far against Glamorgan, who are 106-5 for two after 32 overs, with Colin Ingram 39 not out.

No further joy for Sussex after removing Miles Hammond and Ben Charlesworth in quick succession - Gloucestershire are 198-4 in the 59th over at Hove.

They are still off the field in Derby where Leicestershire are 85-1 - just 27.3 overs have been bowled so far.

  17. DURHAM ALL OUT FOR 244published at 17:04 British Summer Time 19 April

    Parkinson lbw b Finch 0

Adam Finch takes his third wicket as Worcestershire wrap up the Durham innings in quick fashion.

Callum Parkinson lasts just two balls before he loses his balance as Finch pitches it up in the blockhole and hits the spinner bang in front.

Durham fought back well through Ollie Robinson (55), Ben Raine (43) and Matt Potts (20*), but the visitors are bowled out in 61.3 overs.

Worcestershire will be delighted with that after losing the toss.

  18. Postpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 19 April

    Kent 38-2 v Surrey

Kent fans won't thank us for saying this, but DBD is looking good.

Dan Worrall's latest over ends with the right-hander cutting square for four as he progresses to 26 not out.

The tall figure of Jordan Clark relieves Kemar Roach, whose opening six overs cost 21.

  19. wicket

WICKET Raine c Roderick b Finch 43published at 16:59 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs v Durham 244-9

Adam Finch takes a wicketImage source, Rex Features

Ben Raine has played the pull shot well this afternoon, but this time it proves his undoing.

He gets a little cramped for room by Adam Finch and he gloves it behind to Gareth Roderick who takes his second catch.

Callum Parkinson joins Matthew Potts in the middle.

  20. Postpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx 7-0 v Yorks 159

The first of order of business for Middlesex is surely to avoid an early clatter of wickets with 33 overs of play left in the day.

Mark Stoneman cuts Ben Coad away for four in the first over of their reply and partner Nathan Fernandes is off the mark with two later in the over.
