Within the space of two balls the game has completely changed.

Worcestershire were going along nicely heading towards lunch with all 10 wickets intact but Gareth Roderick dragged on and with the very next ball Brett D'Oliveira got out as well.

They need to bat all day to stand any chance and have rather given up two wickets under little pressure there.

It's great to see and that is a statement to the England selectors.

He hasn't even really gone through the gears.

    Essex 377 v Lancashire 146 & 1 78-6

Spin for the first time today at Chelmsford as Simon Harmer is tossed the ball.

Lancashire have quietly steadied the ship after a flurry of wickets earlier thanks to Matthew Hurst (12 not out) and George Bell (17 not out).

The Red Rose should at least make it to lunch without being bowled out.

    Kent 244 v Surrey 313-1

Dan Lawrence gives himself room and forces Jack Leaning away square for four to reach his first hundred for Surrey.

Sorry to keep harping on, Kent followers, but this really does look very comfortable for Surrey at the moment.

A Dom Sibley single takes the total to 300 and Dan Lawrence whips the next through mid-wicket for four to move into the 90s.

  18. Postpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 244 v Surrey 298-1

No let up by Surrey as a Dan Lawrence under-edge brings him two runs and a 150 partnership with Dom Sibley.

The latter attempts a slightly ungainly cover drive to end the over, but can penetrate the field and remains 131 not out.

  19. 100 runs

100 for Gubbinspublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 21 April

    Hampshire 198-1 v Warwickshire 455

Nick Gubbins made a couple of half-centuries against Lancashire last time out but makes it to three figures against Warwickshire this time around.

The man himself acknowledged last night this was an "attritional" match at Southampton and he's certainly showed plenty of stoicism with his first County Championship hundred of the season.

Gubbins brings up his ton, off 215 balls, with a flick of his pads for four through fine leg off Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

    It's Gubbins' 17th first-class hundred.

A couple for Joe Clarke off Lewis Gregory means Notts are up and over the 100 mark.

Shoaib Bashir hasn't got a wicket yet but he's being very economical, with only nine runs from his first six overs.
