  1. Lunch in Birminghampublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 26 April

    Notts 110-1 (29 overs) v Warwickshire

Notts go to lunch at Edgbaston well set, having just gone past the hundred, with England opener Ben Duckett on 68, having hit eight fours, the last of them an edged boundary off spinner Rob Yates, which would have been gobbled up had there been a second slip in place.

Warwickshire have used six bowlers this morning in a bid to make a second breakthrough to add to the early scalp of Haseeb Hameed for 2.

It might have been easier had Jacob Bethell held on to a chance for Ben Slater off Olly Hannon-Dalby on 0. Instead, he has survived to post an unbroken stand of 94 with Duckett.

Yates, incidentally, the last of the six bowlers to be tried, is the Bears' surprise leading wicket taker this season - with 11. It could have been 12.

  2. Lunch at The Ovalpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey v Hants 91-6

Surrey won the toss and what a session they have enjoyed on a green-tinged surface.

Ali Orr made a bright start getting to 26 but he was the second wicket to fall before Dan Worrall took two in two balls.

Gus Atkinson and two wickets from Jordan Clark have made it a dominant morning for the champions.

Hampshire have a little life with Nick Gubbins still there on 36 but the visitors badly need a partnership.

  3. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 26 April

    Durham 129-3 v Essex

Durham will perhaps be disappointed to be three down after winning the toss but their positive style has brought them back into the session.

David Bedingham made 52 from 51 balls before receiving a peach from Jamie Porter that clipped his off stump - Porter's second wicket of the morning.

Colin Ackermann takes lunch 33 not out.

Ollie Robinson alongside him on a run-a-ball 18.

  4. 'Duckett as you expect to see him'published at 12:54 British Summer Time 26 April

    Notts 88-1 v Warwickshire

    Melinda Farrell
    Sports broadcaster/journalist

A brisk half century for Ben Duckett from just 59 balls.

It is Duckett as you expect to see him - just business as usual, brisk and unfussy. Gets on with it, nice and aggressive.

Not all of England's men have found it easy coming back so far, as Joe Root and Harry Brook have found with Yorkshire.

People think you are automatically going to come back and score lots of runs but it's not always the case.

  5. 100 up for Durhampublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 26 April

    Durham 109-3 v Essex

Colin Ackermann drives very sweetly to extra-cover.

It's half-saved and won't run for four but three runs brings up the Durham hundred.

    An even session so far.

  6. wicket

    WICKET: Brown c & b Clark 5published at 12:47 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey v Hants 71-6

Oh my it gets worse for Hampshire!

Ben Brown gets into a right mess trying to pull a ball from Jordan Clark.

It gets a little big on him and the ball pops up off the splice of the bat back to the bowler.

    What a morning for Surrey.

  7. WICKET: Renshaw c Hose b Gibbon 30published at 12:45 British Summer Time 26 April

    Somerset 81-2 v Worcestershire

    Harry Everett
BBC Sport on his way to Kidderminster CC via pick-up truck/AA van!

Signed into a coffee shop wi-fi whilst waiting on the M5 northbound to help my colleagues remotely - and my first sole input triggers the wicket of Matt Renshaw.

    Left-arm bowler gets left-handed batter.

Andy Umeed comes in at number four.

He is known locally having played for Warwickshire, then Moseley in the Birmingham League.

He also got back into the game via the Birmingham-based South Asian cricket Academy not far from here.

This is his first innings of the season after big runs at Headingley for the Second XI last week.

  8. 50 runs

Half century for Ben Duckettpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 26 April

    Notts 87-1 v Warwickshire

Ben Duckett's second half-century of the season - and in successive innings, although 12 days apart after his second-innings 63 against Worcestershire.

    It is his 45th first-class half-century.

He did not play in Notts' previous game against Somerset last week.

  9. Shout-out to mechanic Leepublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 26 April

    Somerset 80-1 v Worcestershire

    Harry Everett
BBC Sport at a service station near Stroud

While Matt Renshaw (30) and Tom Lammonby (28) are bedding down nicely for Notts on 81-1 against Worcestershire at Chester Road, we have a latest progress report from the stricken M5 stragglers . . .

"We sweet-talked Lee by buying him a flat white in the hope he would pull some favours to get us to Chester Road faster!

"Phase one of pick-up done, but car is completely cooked.

"It's innings is over, out for 163,000 miles.

"Apparently a hire car is on its way, and free for four days, to pick us up from Stonehouse Services at some point in the next few hours.

"Worcestershire CCC, please save us some media lunch for whenever we may arrive."

Bit of a cheeky request that last one, Harry! Ordering an early tea would have been your best bet!

  10. 'Looking forward to seeing Stone bowl'published at 12:31 British Summer Time 26 April

    Notts 82-1 v Warwickshire

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

I'm looking forward to seeing Olly Stone bowl in this match.

Former Northants and Warwickshire fast bowler Stone will be playing against his former Bears team-mates for the first time since leaving Edgbaston at the end of the 2021 season. After five injury-ravaged years, in which he made just 15 first-class appearances, he missed the 2022 campaign altogether, before playing twice last summer.

  11. 'Worrall strikes again'published at 12:24 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey v Hants 51-4

    Roland Butcher
Ex-Middlesex and England on BBC Radio London

Dan Worrall has bowled superbly this morning.

Hampshire find themselves in real problems.

They were going along nicely but those wickets have changed the complexion.

  12. 'A lot riding on Gubbins'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey v Hants 54-4

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

There's a lot riding on Nick Gubbins

Hampshire will want to set an imposing total and they should do at The Oval.

    It's a decent batting track.

  13. Excellent start from Essexpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 26 April

    Durham 80-2 v Essex

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham chose to bat against leaders Essex on a cold morning in the North East. And both openers were back in the pavilion within the first six overs.

Young Yorkshire wicket-keeper Harry Duke has been drafted in on loan by Essex and was soon involved in the action, with his cracking one-handed catch, low to his left, to dismiss Scott Borthwick off Jamie Porter.

Five balls later Alex Lees was adjudged to have been caught behind off Sam Cook when he was on four. He looked stunned to be given out but umpire Rob White said he'd hit it.

The Essex bowlers are getting the ball to move around and bowling really tight lines. But David Bedingham and Colin Ackermann are now out in the middle rescuing the situation.

  14. Division Two round-uppublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 26 April

Yorkshire have got of to a decent start at Headingley where the hosts have got past 60 for the loss of just Fin Bean against Derbyshire.

Gloucestershire paceman Marchant de Lange has taken two of the three Middlesex wickets to fall at Bristol.

Northants opener Emilio Gay is not far short of a fifty for the visitors against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

  15. Postpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 26 April

Liam Dawson survives but Hampshire are in a huge hole now.

WICKET: Prest c Lawrence b Worrall 0published at 12:16 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey v Hants 49-4

    Dan Worrall on a hat-trick!

Tom Prest lured into driving at a wide one first ball.

A fast edge is well caught by Dan Lawrence above his right shoulder at third slip.

  17. wicket

WICKET: Vince c Pope b Worrall 5published at 12:15 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey v Hants 49-3

Huge wicket for Surrey as Dan Worrall gets one to bounce on James Vince and it takes the glove and loops up to Ollie Pope at second slip.

  18. Postpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 26 April

    Durham 63-2 v Essex

The home side beginning to settle into this second hour.

David Bedingham leading good progress with six fours in getting to an almost run-a-ball 36.

Sam Cook was angled through gully and Shane Snater twice flicked through midwicket when erring too straight.

  19. Postpublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 26 April

    Somerset 39-1 v Worcestershire

Chester Road, KidderminsterImage source, BBC Sport

Slow progress for Somerset's Matt Renshaw at Chester Road, although he is at least now into double figures.

Slow progress also for stranded BBC reporter Harry Everett, following his earlier breakdown on the M5.

He and his fellow Somerset cricket fans are now safely off the M5, but they have been towed only as far as Stonehouse Services, Stroud, where they are awaiting their next move.

Another member of our online team actually lives near Stroud and has just confidently predicted: "They'll probably be there by tea".

BBC Radio Somerset did actually talk live on air to the stranded quartet earlier - and also put out an emergency to appeal to any passing fellow cricket fans to take them to pick them up and escort them to Kidderminster. But sadly it fell on deaf ears!

  20. wicket

WICKET: Orr c Atkinson b Clark 26published at 11:48 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey v Hants 40-2

Ali Orr shrugged off the early loss of his opening partner Fletcha Middleton to give Hampshire a lively start at The Oval.

Several times Kemar Roach overpitched to him and Orr drove twice smartly through the covers before flicking him over the leg side.

And then Orr opened his shoulders to smash one over the top down the ground!

But he's fallen to the third ball of first change Jordan Clark.

It's a really poor one, pushing hard at a ball angled in from round the wicket, Orr taps up a catch to forward square leg.

What a tame end to a threatening knock.
