  1. Postpublished at 16:17 22 April

    Sussex 92-4 - Target 144

If the shot in the previous over was all power, this is about the timing. A gorgeous straight drive off Ajeet Singh Dale.

The target is down to 52 with six wickets left.

  2. 'Umpires rule that no play is possible today'published at 16:14 22 April

    Northants 605-6 dec v Glamorgan 271 & 104-3

    Andrew Radd
    BBC Radio Northampton

Yes, we are still here at Wantage Road - but not for much longer.

Following an inspection at 1600 BST umpires Graham Lloyd and Sue Redfern have ruled that no play is possible today and the match has been abandoned as a draw.

Northamptonshire take 15 points and Glamorgan 10.

  3. Postpublished at 16:13 22 April

    Sussex 87-4 - Target 144

    That is a big shot!

John Simpson with a powerful sweep to midwicket for four. That helps to alleviate some of the pressure.

With three other singles, that is a good over for Sussex.

  4. 'Pujara is the key wicket'published at 16:11 22 April

    Sussex 80-4 - Target 144

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Pujara is the key wicket here.

Just to reiterate for those who perhaps don't know, floodlights cannot be used this season at Hove.

It's a decision that's been made by the club.

  5. Postpublished at 16:11 22 April

    Sussex 80-4 - Target 144

Cheteshwar Pujara adds two more to the total with a pleasing cover drive off Ajeet Singh Dale.

In what's becoming a recurring theme today, play has been abandoned without a ball bowled on day four in Northampton.

Northants had high hopes of chasing down a final day victory, needing to take seven wickets, while the visitors needed another 230 runs just to make the hosts bat again.

Glamorgan will return to Sophia Gardens for the next match against Middlesex, starting on Friday, while Northants are away to Leicestershire.

  7. 'Sussex are making hard work of this'published at 16:09 22 April

    Sussex 78-4 - Target 144

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

It's really exciting in the gathering gloom at Hove.

Sussex are making hard work of scoring these 144 runs.

The big question is, can they beat the rain?

  8. Not outpublished at 16:06 22 April

    Sussex 78-4 - Target 144

    Is that out?

No. John Simpson sees the ball land in first slip's hands from a Zafar Gohar ball, but the umpire is not interested.

May have been the thigh pad.

Now the ball ends up at first slip. Again, not out! Thigh pad again.

  9. HAMPSHIRE DRAW WITH WARWICKSHIREpublished at 16:03 22 April

    Hampshire 365 v Warwickshire 455 & 205-4

Hopes of an exciting finish at the Utilita Bowl are ended by the weather as the umpires call the game off because of rain.

Warwickshire added 159 to their 46-0 at the start for the loss of four wickets, with in-form Rob Yates making an unbeaten 84.

Spinner Liam Dawson claimed two wickets for match figures of 7-218.

Hampshire will face Surrey at The Oval on Friday, while Warwickshire take on Notts at Edgbaston.

  10. Red ball jeopardypublished at 16:02 22 April

    Sussex 78-4 - Target 144

A target of 144 in T20 would be a doddle. In 50-over cricket? No problem.

But in the red-ball game, there is always that little bit of jeopardy.

Shots like that, however, from Cheteshwar Pujura reduce that as he drives handsomely for four.

  11. Speed merchant thrown the ballpublished at 15:59 22 April

    Sussex 72-4 - Target 144

Sussex are halfway through this chase and Gloucestershire have thrown the ball to the raw slingy pace of Ajeet Singh Dale.

  12. Play resumes at Hovepublished at 15:57 22 April

    Sussex 71-4 - Target 144

Sussex captain John Simpson and Cheteshwar Pujara are out in the middle for the final session of this game.

Simpson adds a single off his first ball from Zafar Gohar and is off the mark.

  13. 'I haven’t thought about England call-up at all'published at 15:55 22 April

    Somerset 454 v Nottinghamshire 193 & 440-2 - Match drawn

    Joe ClarkeImage source, Rex Features

Rain curtailed Joe Clarke's pursuit of further batting records and left him 17 runs shy of a best first-class score as he finished with an unbeaten 213 in Notts draw with Somerset at Taunton.

The 26-year-old followed up centuries against Essex and Worcestershire to take his average to 96 from six innings this season.

Clarke's fine start may well be enough to spark talk of an England call-up.

“For the last three years I haven’t thought about it at all," Clarke told BBC Nottingham.

"Whether that’s because I haven’t scored enough runs or just subconsciously tried to ignore conversations about it, I’m not sure, but right now I feel my game is in a good place.

"I want to carry on scoring runs for Nottinghamshire and better the 1,000 I got last season."

He added: "I’ve had Ben Duckett in my ear all week telling me to stop getting out after getting to a hundred. He told me to go on and get a proper one here and he’s right."

  15. 'A few Sussex jitters'published at 15:46 22 April

    Sussex 70-4 - Target 144

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

There will be a few jitters for Sussex as they make their way back in for tea.

  16. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:41 22 April

    Sussex 479 & 70-4 v Gloucestershire 417 & 205

And that wicket is the cue for the players to leave the field for a 20-minute break.

A great session of cricket as Sussex picked up the four Gloucestershire wickets needed to conclude that innings.

But their chase of 144 is not going so smoothly with four wickets to Zafar Gohar keeping things interesting.

  17. WICKET Coles c Charlesworth b Gofar 10published at 15:40 22 April

    Sussex 70-4 - Target 144

And Zafar Gohar has a fourth wicket!

That is a terrific ball from the Pakistan left-arm spinner as he gets enough turn to take the edge of James Coles' bat and it's well taken by a close-in second slip.

Gohar has 4-25 - great bowling!

  18. Postpublished at 15:39 22 April

    Sussex 70-3 - Target 144

Too straight from Zafar Gohar to James Coles and it's a second four in as many overs as a poor leg-stump ball is turned away to the boundary.

Gohar is straining hard for wickets...

  19. Postpublished at 15:37 22 April

    Sussex 66-3 - Target 144

A good Tom Price over is ruined, but in fairness, James Coles' on-drive is worthy of four runs as he brings the target down to 79.

And Coles adds one more to the total.

  20. 'You don't think of Pujara as a quick scorer'published at 15:34 22 April

    Sussex 61-3 - Target 144

    Ed Seabourne
    BBC Radio Bristol

You don't think of Pujara necessarily as a quick scorer and when you seen him play in one day cricket this is what he'll do.

He'll put the bad balls to the boundary and then he'll hit the good ball for singles.
