  1. wicket

WICKET Clark c Bancroft b Gohar 11published at 14:52 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 17-1 - Target 144

    That's the first one!

Gloucestershire need wickets - and quickly - but they now have the first.

Zafar Gohar gets a bit of turn into left-hander Tom Clark and it's an easy bat-pad catch for Cameron Bancroft at short leg.

  2. Postpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 13-0 - Target 144

The slow left-arm of Zafar Gohar to share new-ball duties.

Tom Clark with a powerful sweep shot gets a second four in as many overs as they eat into this target.

But that is close as Clark inside-edges one past the stumps.

  3. SURREY BEAT KENT BY INNS & 37 RUNSpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 262 v Surrey 543-7 dec

It's taken them 46 and a bit overs of graft on the final day, but champions Surrey have their first Championship win of the new season.

Matt Parkinson's long vigil is ended as he clips Kemar Roach to Jamie Smith at square leg and is out for a career-best 39, made from 147 balls.

His 74-run partnership with Joey Evison, who made 53, was the chief reason Surrey were detained for so long after Kent resumed on 120-5.

Dan Worrall finishes with 4-41 and three wickets for spinner Cameron Steel takes his tally to 20 from three games.

  4. Postpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 262-9 v Surrey 543-7 dec

Surrey now have Dan Worrall in the attack - and he's on for a five-for if he can bag the final wicket.

Kent aren't done just yet, though, and Matt Parkinson nurdles one round the corner for a single.

Is that it? Arafat Bhuiyan miscues a pull but it lobs just short of the diving second slip.

  5. SUSSEX BEGIN CHASEpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 479 & 7-0 v Gloucestershire 417 & 205

The two Toms, Haines and Clarks come out to begin the victory chase of 144.

    Zaman Akhter to bowl.

Clark tucks the first ball down to deep square for a single.

Haines clips the second into the legside and that is another run.

Clark adds a single off the fourth ball before Haines ends the over with a cut shot to the boundary.

  6. Pitch inspection at Wantage Roadpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 22 April

    Northants 605-6 dec v Glamorgan 271 & 104-3

Rain has prevented any play at Northampton so far, but we do at least have the promise of an inspection at 15:00.

Northants are running out of time to take those seven Glamorgan wickets.

  7. 'Can't imagine you get panicked often as Surrey skipper'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 253-9 v Surrey 543-7 dec

    Ben Watts
    BBC Radio Kent

There's harder gigs than being the skipper of Surrey.

Just stand at mid off, let your bowlers do the work, let Ben Foakes catch everything behind the stumps.

I can't imagine you get panicked all too often.

  8. wicket

GLOUCESTERSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 205published at 14:32 British Summer Time 22 April

    Dale c Coles b Seales 0

Two wickets in two balls to finish the innings!

Jayden Seales is on the money to last man Ajeet Singh Dale and he edges it straight into the hands of third slip.

West Indies man Seales finishes with impressive figures of 16.2-7-18-4 - he has grabbed 12 wickets in three games so far for Sussex.

Gloucestershire have added 124 runs and battled hard, but Sussex will only require 144 to win.

  9. 6 runs

Sixpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 251-9 v Surrey 543-7 dec

Surrey recall Kemar Roach to finish the job.

But he overpitches on leg stump and number 11 Arafat Bhuiyan effortlessly swings it over square leg for six.

The next ball is a similar line and this time he chips it to mid-wicket for four as Kent exceed their first innings total.

What will Roach do now? Bang it in short and Bhuiyan pulls it away for another boundary.

  10. wicket

WICKET Gohar c Carson b Seales 52published at 14:30 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417 & 205-9

Jayden Seales is brought back into the attack and strikes first ball!

Zafar Gohar has batted so well, but his innings is ended as he drives straight to extra cover.

He offered terrific support to Miles Hammond when he was in, but his 140-ball stay is over.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Zafar Goharpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417 & 204-8

A beautiful shot from Zafar Gohar as he clips an Ollie Robinson half-volley to midwicket for four.

That is his 50 and it is well appreciated by the Gloucestershire dressing room.

Zafar has batted for 137 balls in this innings and it's his second half century in the match after 60 first up.

With three wickets with the ball, it's a fine game for the Pakistan slow left-armer.

  12. 'A real top level catch from Smith'published at 14:24 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 230-9 v Surrey 543-7 dec

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

    An absolutely fantastic catch.

That was a real top level catch from Jamie Smith, pure reactions.

Kent are one wicket nearer defeat.

    Image caption,

Would you choose to live here?

It's a bit windy at Hove, but there are some hardy souls in the ground and a few out on the balconies in the flat overlooking the ground.

With a view of the cricket ground and the sea less than a mile away, there are far worse places to live!

Not sure I'd manage to convince the family to move to Hove, though!

  14. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417 & 195-8

Zaman Akhter throws the hands at an Ollie Robinson delivery and that flies past backward point for four.

This is a useful cameo from the no.10 as he is 21 off 15 balls.

But Robinson has him wafting outside off-stump at the next two balls.

And a third time in the over. Akhter looks here for a good time rather than a long time.

  15. 'Difficult to work out how long until we'll have play'published at 14:18 British Summer Time 22 April

    Hampshire 365 v Warwickshire 455 & 205-4

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

So, we will have a break in play. How long? It's very difficult to work out because when you come off when it's rained, it's very difficult to get back on.

Even though there was some rain in the air at the lunch break which was the odd drop they still came out and played.

It's been a little bit like this for an hour, hour and a half.

  16. wicket

WICKET Singh c Smith b Steel 0published at 14:17 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 230-9 v Surrey 543-7 dec

Fabulous by Jamie Smith who grabs the chance one handed at short leg.

Jas Singh lasts just seven deliveries and Surrey are almost there.

That is Cameron Steel's 20th wicket in three games this season.

  17. Postpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 230-8 v Surrey 543-7 dec

Matt Parkinson deserves a lot of praise for an innings which has been as defiant as.....well, as defiant as singer/songwriter Ian Hunter's two most recent albums which are both called Defiance.

He forces Tom Lawes away square for another boundary and is now 37 not out.

  18. Postpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417 & 190-8

No Jayden Seales to share the new ball, but the off-spin of Jack Carson to continue after those two wickets in that over.

His first ball is swept for four by Zaman Akhter, but he then has the no.10 playing and missing at the next two balls.

He gets a run off the fourth before partner Zafar Gohar tries the biggest shot we've seen all day.

    Zero contact though!

He guides a single out to deep cover to complete an eventful over.

  19. wicket

WICKET Garrett lbw Steel 5published at 14:09 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 226-8 v Surrey 543-7 dec

George Garrett tickles Cameron Steel fine for four.

Surrey bring in a leg slip and Steel tosses one up on off stump which beats the defensive push and Garrett is gone.

He wasn't convinced by the decision but there will be no reprieve.

  20. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Utilita Bowlpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 22 April

    Hampshire 365 v Warwickshire 455 & 205-4

Precipitation is coming down, the covers are coming down and the players are leaving the field.

They go off with Warwickshire 295 runs ahead.
