  1. 'Warwickshire may bat for half hour or so after lunch'published at 13:20 British Summer Time 22 April

    Lunch: Hampshire 365 v Warwickshire 455 & 184-4

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

That lead is 274 for Warwickshire and we probably think that they will bat for maybe half an hour or so after lunch. That's open for debate.

Rob Yates has played very well once more for his 74 not out.

  2. 'New ball could be decisive'published at 13:18 British Summer Time 22 April

    Lunch: Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417 & 156-6

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A tremendous morning for Gloucestershire who haven’t lost a wicket in the morning session and have extended their lead from 19 at the start of play to 94 at lunch.

Both Miles Hammond, who has faced 195 balls, and Zafar Gohar, who has faced 109, have been solid in defence but punished the bad ball.

The new ball will be available in six overs time and that could be decisive to the outcome of this game.

  3. 'Well played Kent'published at 13:13 British Summer Time 22 April

    Lunch: Kent 244 & 203-6 v Surrey 543-7 dec

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

Well played Kent, well played Matt Parkinson and well played Joey Evison after the loss of Ben Compton with the score this morning on 139.

These two have actually shown some heart, some steel and they've seen scores though to 203-6 but more importantly, they have taken a number of overs out of the day.

Surrey need four wickets to win. Kent need to bat for two sessions, can they do it?

Three singles off the final over before lunch from Liam Dawson as Warwickshire head to the dressing rooms leading by 274.

They have added 138 runs this morning, with Rob Yates not out on 74, but the question is now whether they will carry on batting, and if so for how long.

  6. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 22 April

    Somerset 454 v Notts 193 & 440-2

Play started on time, but only nine overs were possible before the rains came - and stayed.

Will Young (174*) and Joe Clarke (213*) have added 22 runs this morning to move the score on to 440-2 and extend their record Notts third-wicket stand to 192.

It's been a great morning for Young who has gone past his previous first-class top score.

Fingers crossed for a dramatic improvement in the forecast.

  7. Lunch at Hovepublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417 & 156-6

Jack Carson skips through the final over, giving up a couple of singles to see Gloucestershire through the entire session without losing a wicket.

Miles Hammond on 71 and Zafar Gohar, 30, have added 75 runs and moved the lead to 94 runs.

There have been a couple of scares in the last few overs with Carson beating Hammond's bat and Gohar nearly yorked by Tom Haines, but the Glosters deserve that bit of luck.

Sussex won't be panicking and Gloucestershire are far from out of the woods, but the victory charge has been well held up.

Joey Evison batting for KentImage source, Rex Features

Two short legs in Matt Parkinson's face for the final over of the morning session at the Spitfire Ground.

Cameron Steel turns one past the edge but Parkinson blocks out the rest and it's so far, so good for Kent.

They have added 83 during the morning for the loss of Ben Compton, who was caught behind off Dan Worrall.

Joey Evison has played a mature innings for his 44 not out and Parkinson has 25 - their stand is worth 64.

  9. 'Sussex are still in the ascendency'published at 12:57 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417 & 153-6

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Sussex are still very much in the ascendency here.

But Miles Hammond and Zafar Gohar have really battled away well and you just never know.

  10. Postpublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 201-6 v Surrey 543-7 dec

Joe Evison thumps Cameron Steel into the covers and the Kent batters scurry through for two as their total reaches 200.

Surrey switch their short leg from off to leg for Matt Parkinson but it doesn't bring a wicket as the over ends, with this stubborn partnership now worth 62.

  11. wicket

WICKET Mousley c Dawson b Fuller 14published at 12:55 British Summer Time 22 April

    Hampshire 365 v Warwickshire 455 & 177-4

Dan Mousley goes for a big shot off James Fuller, but he can't clear mid-on and the catch is taken.

These wickets are hampering Warwickshire's chances of getting a charge going.

  12. 150 runs

150 up for Glosterspublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 22 April

    Sussex 479 v Gloucestershire 417 & 150-6

This is very good battling cricket from Gloucestershire.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice bowls a bumper and Miles Hammond pulls it in front of square to the fence.

That brings up the 150 for this innings, moves him to 67 and this partnership to 71.

  13. Postpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 197-6 v Surrey 543-7 dec

Tom Lawes is convinced he has Matt Parkinson lbw with an inswinging delivery - but the umpire spotted a thin edge on that and the Kent spinner collects a single.

Joey Evison crashes Lawes through the covers for four and is now 39 not out. He hasn't looked in much trouble this morning.

  14. Time to do the mathspublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 22 April

    Hampshire 365 v Warwickshire 455 & 163-2

Time for a quick bit of maths.

Warwickshire lead by 253 with a minimum of 72 overs remaining today.

Will they fancy a declaration to set Hampshire a target and give themselves an unlikely chance of victory?

Maybe if they can get close to 300 ahead by lunch they may declare and save two overs for a change of ends.

Scoring at four an over on this pitch has been challenging all match.

  15. Postpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 191-6 v Surrey 543-7 dec

Matt Parkinson took his life in his hands there by opting to drop onto the back foot to block a full length ball from Cameron Steel.

He survives and it'll be Tom Lawes from the other end.

  16. 'Kent are showing a lot of heart'published at 12:43 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 191-6 v Surrey 543-7 dec

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

Kent are showing a lot of heart here and are making Surrey have a think about things.

This game is not a foregone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination.

  17. 'Huge puddles on the outfield'published at 12:37 British Summer Time 22 April

    Derbyshire 167 & 224-6 v Leicestershire 574-7 dec

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

An early lunch has been called at Derby, but it feels very much for form's sake - the outfield is awash and there is no chance of playing the hour's cricket, or less, that might be all Leicestershire require to complete an innings victory.

There are huge puddles on an outfield that was already very soft, and of course on the covers, and it's still raining - meaning there's little point in the groundstaff starting the mopping-up operation.

Leicestershire will be philosophical - they were saved by the weather in the match against Sussex last week - and assuming play is abandoned, a maximum bonus point return means they'll take 16 points from the game, keeping them firmly in touch at the top.

In the meantime, check out the Scott Currie delivery which accounted for Derbyshire skipper David Lloyd yesterday... Franklyn Stephenson, anybody?

  18. wicket

WICKET Barnard c&b Dawson 18published at 12:34 British Summer Time 22 April

    Hampshire 365 v Warwickshire 455 & 156-3

Ed Barnard goes for an almighty heave off Liam Dawson, but the ball goes very high rather than handsome and Dawson takes a few paces to his right to get under it and complete the catch.

A useful cameo from the Bears' number four.

  19. 50-run standpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 22 April

    Hampshire 365 v Warwickshire 455 & 102-2

A single from Rob Yates means he and Ed Barnard have now put on 50 in 48 balls this morning.

Barnard has provided the intent for this innings.

Warwickshire have added 106 in 21 overs this morning to move 242 runs ahead.

  20. 50 runs

50 partnership for Kentpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 22 April

    Kent 244 & 189-6 v Surrey 543-7 dec

Joey Evison forces Cameron Steel away for a single as he and Matt Parkinson post a 50 partnership for Kent's seventh wicket after coming together at the dismissal of Ben Compton.

It nearly comes to an end, though, as Parkinson almost chops a full length delivery into his stumps. It just misses the off stick.
