We're back under way at Joie Stadium.

  2. 'Brighton's play out from the back risky but bold and brave'published at 13:30 British Summer Time

    HT: Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Steph Houghton
Former Manchester City and England captain on BBC Two

I love what Brighton are doing at times when they play out from the back. It is risky, but it is bold and brave. This summer they have bought in a few technical players and they look well drilled and are very good positioning-wise, being able to know when to go into space and when to hold.

This left hand side in particular has caused City so much problems. Bruna has dropped into the pocket and has been their best outlet going forward.

  3. Postpublished at 13:30 British Summer Time

    HT: Man City 1-0 Brighton

It's been a very quiet half for last week's hat-trick hero, Kiko Seike.

The Japan forward attempted just three passes in that first 45 minutes.

  4. 'Bunny is one of the best in the business'published at 13:28 British Summer Time

    HT: Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Steph Houghton
Former Manchester City and England captain on BBC Two

All good strikers know how to get across the front post and finish across the keeper. Bunny is one of the best in the business in terms of that movement across the front post and that sort of finish.

  5. 'Shaw pops up at the right time'published at 13:27 British Summer Time

    HT: Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

That's why she's so good. That's why you pay good money for players like this because she does pop up at the right time.

  6. 'It has been a really attractive game'published at 13:25 British Summer Time

    HT: Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

It's been a really entertaining one, sitting there just watching the tactics of both teams.

We're so used to seeing Manchester City dominate possession through their build but they also have a really impressive press up front and actually Brighton have found a way to beat that press and playing out from the back which I've been surprised with.

It has been a really attractive game.

Brighton will go in knowing that they're opening up City and can score goals.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

There goes the whistle for half-time with Manchester City ahead thanks to Khadija Shaw.

That was becoming a pretty decent game of end-to-end football. Brighton will definitely feel they can get something from this.

  11. 'Beautiful finish'published at 13:17 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Rachel Brown-Finnis

It's a lovely textbook Bunny Shaw goal.

Flicks the foot, well-drilled, beautiful finish just that burst of speed to get in. Wonderful ball from Casparij.

Now it's Brighton's turn to attack.

Pauline Bremer sprays the ball out to Fran Kirby but the former Chelsea player goes hard and low with the strike, failing to beat Ayaka Yamashita.

  14. 'Brighton asking questions'published at 13:12 British Summer Time

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Two

It's Brighton who are mounting the challenge towards the end of this half. They are really asking questions of what is such a well-drilled and stingy Man City defence.

  15. Postpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

How have Manchester City not scored there? Khadija Shaw twists and turns and can't get a shot off.

A brilliant block from Maria Thórisdottir rebounds to Jess Park but she blazes over the bar.

That is proper last ditch defending from Brighton.

  16. Postpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

Vivianne Miedema runs out of room at the goalline and can get neither a cross or shot away.

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Two

Maybe lacking a little bit of confidence shooting from distance, Fran Kirby - who knows?

I'd like to see her tricky feet, a little jink of the shoulder. We know she's a little magician.

It's great to see her back playing regular football.

  19. Postpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

    Brighton are on top now.

Vicky Losada sends Alex Greenwood and Kerstin Casparij flying with quick feet in the box, but Pauline Bremer can't find a way through a wall of Manchester City shirts with the strike.

  20. 'That's pretty harsh'published at 13:06 British Summer Time

    Man City 0-0 Brighton

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Two

We were right behind that and it looked like Jess Park had ran into the back of Poppy Pattinson.

Of course an attacker is going to make the most of it, there is contact with her shoulder, it's a natural movement.

    That's pretty harsh.
