Lancashire's Luke Wells celebrates his century against KentImage source, PA

    What a day!

Surrey have moved to the top of the Championship with a commanding win at Worcestershire while the previous leaders, Nottinghamshire are heading for a draw against Yorkshire.

In Division Two It rained sixes at Blackpool where Lancashire had three centurions to put pressure on Kent and the leaders Leicestershire will press for a victory against Glamorgan tomorrow.

You can read all the day's reports here and we'll be back tomorrow for what should be an exciting final day.

  2. Close of play at Blackpoolpublished at 19:14 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 639-9 v Kent 374

It's normally sunny in Blackpool at this time of year (so I'm told) but it rained sixes as Lancashire smashed 18 maximums against a beleaguered Kent attack.

Luke Wells, Josh Bohannon and Ashton Turner on his debut all made centuries as the home side made the highest score by either side in the history of this fixture.

A draw seems the most likely result but scoreboard pressure could make it a challenging final day for the visitors.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 24 June

    Stanley c Evison b JK Denly 2 (Lancs 631-9 v Kent 374)

A second wicket in three balls for Jaydn Denly as Mitchell Stanley is caught in the deep by Joey Evison.

In comes James Anderson with 2.2 overs remaining in the day.

  4. wicket

    Green c Parkinson b JK Denly 20 (Lancs 629-8 v Kent 374)

Jaydn Denly gets himself a wicket as Chris Green cuts the ball into the hands of Matt Parkinson.

    The celebrations are well, non-existent.

  5. 6 runs

Postpublished at 19:02 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 628-7 v Kent 374

Just when Kent think it's safe to go out again...

Chris Green slogs (and it's a genuine slog) a Matt Parkinson delivery over the long-on fence.

Six more - the 18th of the innings in fact.

  6. Close of play at Edgbastonpublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 351 v Somerset 498 & 116-3

Somerset might rue their missed opportunities in this one.

Warwickshire scraped past the follow on, but probably would not have done had Migael Pretorius not bowled nine no balls (totalling 18 runs) and Messrs Craig Overton, Archie Vaughan, Jack Leach and James Rew taken their catching chances.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Josh Davey got nowhere near their 186-run opening partnership of the first dig, both falling within two runs of each other this time (24 & 26) having been one run apart on day one.

The two elegant left-handers; Tom Lammonby (33) and James Rew (44*) were split just before the close, but Somerset would do well to lose this match from here.

    They lead by 263.

  7. That's a recordpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 616-7 v Kent 374

Lancashire have now accumulated the biggest score by either team in this fixture.

The previous best was Kent's 615 at Tunbridge Wells in 2004.

Lancashire's previous highest was 549-9 in 2024 at Canterbury.

We still have FIVE overs remaining.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 24 June

    Jones c Leaning b Parkinson 41 (Lancs 615-7 v Kent 374)

Michael Jones' fun in the Blackpool sun is over and Matt Parkinson grabs a third wicket with Jack Leaning taking another catch in the deep.

    Lancashire lead by 241 runs.

  9. Close of play at Bristolpublished at 18:48 British Summer Time 24 June

    Gloucs 187 & 364-3 v Derbyshire 398

It's been a theme around the grounds with the Kookaburra ball being used, but there were runs aplenty as Gloucestershire fought back against Derbyshire.

Cameron Bancroft (170) and Graeme van Buuren (105) both made unbeaten centuries as the hosts compiled 364-3, putting them 153 runs in front.

On a flat pitch, Derbyshire's spinners bowled the bulk of the overs with little reward.

Between them, Jack Morley and Alex Thomson have now twirled away for 76 overs in Gloucestershire's second innings, going for 238 runs and taking just two wickets.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lammonby c Barnard b Rocchiccioli 33 (Warwickshire 351 v Somerset 498 & 107-3)

Shovelled to midwicket and Corey Rocchiccioli has a wicket in each innings of his English professional debut!

That was gifted mind, he won't credit that as one of his best balls.

No ton in each innings from Tom Lammonby then.

Tom Abell takes guard whilst James Rew takes a drink from Fin Hill.

    3.5 overs to come.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 24 June

    Turner c Leaning b Parkinson 154 (Lancs 600-6 v Kent 374)

Ashton Turner attempts to lose another cricket ball in the wilds of Blackpool but doesn't get enough on it and Jack Leaning gives Matt Parkinson a second wicket with a nicely judged catch in the deep.

    Still no Lancashire declaration.

  12. Postpublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 351 v Somerset 498 & 105-2

Jacob Bethell had three overs for 31 so Alex Davies brings on Rob Yates to stem the flow of runs believing his opening bat won't go at ten runs plus per over.

  13. 600 Up for Lancashirepublished at 18:42 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 600-5 v Kent 374

This has got very messy for Kent.

That's the 600 for the home side.

    They lead by 226 runs.

  14. 100 runs

100 for Somersetpublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 351 v Somerset 498 & 103-2

Corey Rocchiccioli gets his first bowl of the second innings in the 22nd over of this one.

He had just left the field for a 'comfort break' but not for long enough to stop him bowling from the City End.

Tom Lammonby takes him for four third ball.

  15. 150 runs

150 for Ashton Turnerpublished at 18:38 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 593-5 v Kent 374

They're still going and there's another milestone as Ashton Turner goes to 150 and he's eclipsed his previous first-class best of 128 by some distance.

All this has come on his Lancashire Championship debut.

Elevens fours and six sixes in case you were keeping tally.

  16. Close of play at Northamptonpublished at 18:35 British Summer Time 24 June

    Northants 435 v Middlesex 413 & 215-3

It has also been a run fest at Northampton, where Saif Zaib made 102 for the hosts as they earned a 22-run lead.

That didn't faze Middlesex though, who have reached 215-3 at stumps with Max Holden (35) and Ryan Higgins (11) not out.

Josh de Caires made 87 opening the batting and one suspects Toby Roland-Jones' side will look to set up a declaration tomorrow.

  17. Close of play at Grace Roadpublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 24 June

    Leicestershire 576-7 dec v Glamorgan 353 & 131-3

Leicestershire are still on top having racked up 576 before Peter Handscomb surprisingly declared only seven down with Ben Green and Logan van Beek both going well way past 50.

Three quick wickets made me think Leicestershire could seal the win tonight, but Colin Ingram and Sam Northeast have used all their experience in this evening session to stifle and still score, reducing the deficit to 92.

Logan van Beek, the star of the day with his runs and 2/3 wickets, finishes aptly with a maiden.

  18. 6 runs

Any special requests where you'd like Michael Jones to hit this one?

    How about the marquee?

    Six more.

The lead goes to 199 runs.

  19. 6 runs

Postpublished at 18:31 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 567-5 v Kent 374

    Yeah, you've guessed it.

In comes Kashif Ali and there goes the ball for the second time in the over as Michael Jones launches him over the fence.

Luckily they've got the ball back this time otherwise someone's going to have go to their kit bag in the car.

  20. 6 runs

Postpublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 558-5 v Kent 374

Stop me if this gets boring.

Michael Jones swings Kashif Ali over the wall now.

That's the 15th maximum of the innings and out comes to box of balls for a replacement - don't worry what condition the new one is in lads as you may not have it for too long.
