  1. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time

    Northants 435 v Middlesex 413 & 107-1

Josh de Caires takes a single from the final delivery before tea at Wantage Road, bowled by Calvin Harrison, and marks his first Championship game of the season with 50 off 84 balls.

He has hit seven fours so far and shared an 89-run opening stand with Sam Robson, who was leg-before to Harrison for 48.

Middlesex are 85 ahead with nine wickets standing, but there are only four sessions left in the game and a draw is clear favourite at the moment as far as the result is concerned.

  2. Resumption at Edgbastonpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire 317-7 v Somerset 498

Jack Leach has five balls to get two more wickets for this final bowling bonus point, stay tuned!

  3. 50 runs

50 Partnershippublished at 15:57 British Summer Time

    Durham 327 v Sussex 361 & 78-3

James Coles and Danial Ibrahim have batted well to repair the earlier damage.

Sussex remain in a position where they can't afford to lose a couple of quick wickets with their lead at 112 runs.

  4. Postpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time

    Durham 327 v Sussex 361 & 68-3

James Coles is struck on the helmet by a Bas de Leede delivery so will have to be checked out.

He's fine to continue and just to evidence that, hits the next ball for four.

It is very dark at the Riverside now with the lights on.

    Sussex lead by 102 runs.

  5. 6 runs

    Lancs 363-3 v Kent 374

Ashton Turner gets everything on a Matt Parkinson delivery and it flies over the beer tent for six.

Turner has 36 from 39 balls and Lancashire trail by 11 runs.

  6. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time

    Essex 296 & 44-1 v Hants 453

Tom Westley and Paul WalterImage source, Rex Features

Essex duo Paul Walter and Tom Westley make their way through to the tea break safely following the loss of opener Dean Elgar.

The home side still trail by 113 runs though and have it all to do in the final session of day three.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time

    Robson lbw Harrison 48 (Northants 435 v Middlesex 413 & 89-1)

It's been a frustrating season for Sam Robson. This is only his fifth Championship game for Middlesex and he isn't going to make a third half-century.

Calvin Harrison sends one down which keeps a little low and does enough to suggest it was a google and the umpire is quick to send Robson on his way.

  8. 350 Up for Lancashirepublished at 15:45 British Summer Time

    Lancs 352-3 v Kent 374

We are 15 minutes from tea at Blackpool and up comes the Lancashire 350.

Do they want to start putting down the hammer and put pressure on Kent?

  9. wicket

WICKET & now tea at Edgbastonpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire 317-7 v Somerset 498

Craig Overton takes Sam Hain (78) at slip first ball from Jack Leach.

Warwickshire may struggle to reach the follow on target after all!

We are going off time for tea at 3.40 today, so this interval rudely interrupts the crucial final over for bonus points for a bit of cake and scones.

  10. 6 runs

Postpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time

    Lancs 343-3 v Kent 374

Josh Bohannon goes down on one knee, but Matt Parkinson's answer won't be pretty as the Lancashire man hammers it over the rope for six.

We now have spin at both ends with Jaydn Denly on to give it a tweak.

  11. Postpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire 317-6 v Somerset 498

Corey Rocchiccioli takes consecutive boundaries through the offside from Craig Overton, the first a lovely backfoot punch through the vacant covers.

Somerset now need three wickets in the last over of Jack Leach before bonus points are done with for this match.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time

    Elgar c Brown b Dawson 18 (Essex 296 & 30-1 v Hants 453)

Liam Dawson's day gets even better.

Bat onto pad as Dean Elgar plays back to the left-arm off-spinner and Ben Brown snaffles the catch behind the stumps.

Essex are one down still trailing by 127.

  13. Division Two updatepublished at 15:36 British Summer Time

Few reasons to get Derbyshire excited at Bristol at the moment. Gloucestershire are 210-3 in their second innings, just one run behind, and Cameron Bancroft (105*) and Graeme van Buuren have added 51 together so far. Van Buuren has also passed 4,000 first-class runs for the home side.

Northants are using spin at both ends against Middlesex, but the visitors are 83-0 in the 19th over of their second innings - 61 runs in front.

  14. Postpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time

    Notts 487 v Yorkshire 307-5

Finlay Bean put that momentary lapse behind him and moves past his previous first-class best of 173 with a powerful shot through the off side.

The 23-year-old is 175 not out from 389 deliveries.

  15. Play resumes at Durhampublished at 15:31 British Summer Time

    Durham 327 v Sussex 361 & 50-3

That early tea seems to have done the trick at the Riverside.

The rain has passed and the players are back out.

In theory we have just over 53 overs still to be bowled in the day - good luck everyone.

  16. dropped catch

Bean dropped on 170published at 15:30 British Summer Time

    Notts 487 v Yorkshire 303-5

Finlay Bean nails a pull shot to Freddie McCann at forward square-leg but it's hit so hard, McCann can't react in time and down it goes.

Yorkshire moved past 300 not long ago.

  17. Overseas debutant at 8 for Bearspublished at 15:26 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire 301-6 v Somerset 498

Corey Rocchiccoli has one first-class 50 in 49 innings with 17 not outs in 36 games.

I did not expect him to be in at eight today. I guess Ethan Bamber and Che Simmons are not known for batting whilst Ollie Hannon-Dalby is resolute but happily at 11.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time

    ul Hassan b van Beek 4 (Leicestershire 472-7 v Glamorgan 353 5-1)

Leicestershire get an early breakthrough and it is the man who was batting nicely before the declaration stopped him in his tracks that gets it.

    Sam Northeast joins Mason Crane.

  19. 50 partnership for Middlesexpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time

    Northants 435 v Middlesex 413 & 53-0

    Wow.

Lloyd Pope pitches one in the footmarks outside Josh de Caires' off stump - there is extravagant turn and it beats Northants keeper Lewis McManus before running away for four byes.

If he can find similar turn from a little bit straighter line, Pope would be a real handful. No need for de Caires to worry out there, though.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time

    Smith c Rew b Overton 19 (Warwickshire 301-6 v Somerset 498)

A second bowling point for Somerset as Craig Overton fires one in at the body of Kai Smith, he only glances it behind for James Rew to pouch.

4-49 for the Somerset skip now.
