  1. 50 runs

50 partnership off 100 ballspublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 229-3 v Somerset 498

Sam Hain now on 27* and Jacob Bethell on 20* as we start to see a few more of the great array of strokes both these players have.

The sun comes out to further aid their batting here too.

  2. DURHAM ALL OUT FOR 327published at 12:51 British Summer Time 24 June

    Conners c Simpson b Sandhu 7 (Durham 327 v Sussex 361)

Five wickets for Gurinder Sandhu on his Sussex debut.

Yet another wicket falls on the pull shot.

Sam Conners perishes as he snicks through to John Simpson trying to pull Sandhu over the rope.

Sussex will have one over to face before the interval.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 24 June

    Prest c Snater b Critchley 41 (Essex 296 v Hants 395-6)

Tom Prest attempts to hit Matt Critchley down the ground but only succeeds in skying it.

Shane Snater settles under it and takes a safe catch.

Felix Organ strides to the middle with Hampshire leading by 99.

  4. Division Two latestpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 24 June

Lancashire opener Luke Wells has gone to a fine hundred and his side have moved on to 208-2 against Kent at Blackpool. They trail by 166.

Northants collapsed from 342-5 to 350-9 against Middlesex. They're 375-9 and 38 behind.

Gloucestershire opener Cameron Bancroft has brought up his fifty against Derbyshire.

They're 117-2 in their second innings, but still 94 behind.

  5. 6 runs

Six down the ground from Bethellpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 221-3 v Somerset 498

At last we see the exciting white ball talent that Jacob Bethell has shown for Melbourne Renegades, England and Warwickshire across the last year or so.

He is only on 17 off 37 balls but maybe that dropped catch has turned a switch in his head to relax under the pressure of England personnel watching his every move here as a possible option for further England v India Tests this summer, perhaps even the next test here.

Used the feet and bopped just over the rope below the media centre.

    Warwickshire 220-3 v Somerset 498

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

Anthony Gibson: If Josh Davey is not fit to bowl then I do not know why he is out there.

But I guess he would not be able to open the batting were he not fielding for a certain amount of time.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 24 June

    Potts c Simpson b O Robinson 2 (Durham 320-9 v Sussex 361)

    Durham are rather subsiding.

Matthew Potts edges Ollie Robinson through to John Simpson and the home side have lost three wickets for 19 runs.

  8. dropped catch

Bethell dropped on 3published at 12:41 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 202-3 v Somerset 498

Hard in his follow through, but after missing three chances yesterday Somerset really don't want to be as generous to the home side today.

Jacob Bethell has been very restrained by his Bazball standards, and remember this competition is one-day fewer than a test match, supposedly against a weaker than test attack and on a benign pitch vs a kookaburra ball.

He should be out for 3 off 32 balls but it bursts through both Jack Leach's hands.

You know what we were saying about it being murky at Durham?

Well here it is in all its 'glory' but the lights are doing their job.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 24 June

    Trevaskis b Leonard 25 (Leicestershire 453-7 v Glamorgan 353)

What a bizarre over so far from Ned Leonard!

Eight off that first non-ball, then a dot off the first legitimate ball of the over, then the wicket!

Logan van Beek comes in at nine to join Ben Green who's 2*.

    Leicestershire lead by exactly 100.

  11. Postpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 24 June

    Worcs 214 & 125 v Surrey 291 & 0-0 (target 49)

Can Surrey wrap-up a win inside two and a half days?

They need 49 runs in 23 minutes minutes to do so.

By the way, Nathan Smith's 6-38 is his best return in English cricket (he has taken 6-36 in New Zealand's domestic competition).

  12. An 8 & 450 and max batting bonus points for Leicestershirepublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 24 June

    Leicestershire 453-6 v Glamorgan 353

What a bizarre way to get there after a quiet period at Grace Road.

A no ball from Ned Leonard is top edge pulled for six!

So eight runs off what does not even count as a ball!

  13. new ball

New ballpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 487 v Yorkshire 206-4

Nottinghamshire captain shows no hesitation in taking the new ball at Trent Bridge and Mohammad Abbas is called back into the attack.

Yorkshire have started well this morning, with Jonny Bairstow adding 30 for the fifth wicket with Finlay Bean.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 24 June

    Raine c Clark b Sandhu 10 (Durham 317-8 v Sussex 361)

Gurinder Sandhu nabs a fourth wicket on his Sussex debut.

Ben Raine pops a simple catch to Tom Clark and Sussex are eyeing a first innings lead.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 24 June

    Handscomb c Cooke b Leonard 22 (Leicestershire 442-6 v Glamorgan 353)

Ben Green will have to try and navigate Leicestershire to their final bonus point now then.

Aussie overseas Peter Handscomb falls for 20 to Ben Green's former teammate Ned Leonard.

A great catch down the legside off a fine tickle from Chris Cooke who deserves far more credit than the bowler for this one.

Glamorgan get a second bowling bonus point.

  16. ouch!

Postpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 194-3 v Somerset 498

    Harry Everett
    BBC Sport from Edgbaston

I mentioned his Aussieness last post, well this is hardcore daft, genuinely headbutting the ball five yards from the deep point boundary. They could have run three were that off the bat the distance that has gone off his protective gear.

A good short ball from Miggy Pretorius but instead of ducking it, Sam Hain half ducks into it, then leaves his head there so it is flush onto the middle of his lid.

He is fine but there will be a lengthy chat with 12th man Jake Lintott and the physio getting him to recite the days of the week backwards, or whatever it is they use these days.

He will continue, but boy oh boy I cannot remember seeing a helmet collision that hard in the last few years of county cricket.

  17. wicket

WORCESTERSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 125published at 12:27 British Summer Time 24 June

    Duffy c Burns b N Smith 0 (Worcs 214 & 125 v Surrey 291)

Nathan Smith of SurreyImage source, Rex Features

First ball for Jacob Duffy, six wickets for Nathan Smith.

The home side's number 11 gets an edge through to Rory Burns and is out first ball.

Smith finishes with 6-38 and Matthew Fisher 4-47.

After a 66-run stand for the fifth wicket between Adam Hose (40) and Ben Allison (27), Worcestershire lost six wickets for 13 runs.

Surrey will need to knock off 49 runs to win.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 24 June

    Singh c Burns b N Smith 2 (Worcs 214 & 125-9 v Surrey 291)

A five wicket haul for Nathan Smith against his former club.

The Kiwi digs one in short and Fateh Singh takes the bait but only succeeds in gloving it through to Rory Burns.

This has all escalated very quickly.

    The lead is 48 runs.

  19. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 191-3 v Somerset 498

    Harry Everett
    BBC Sport from Edgbaston

At last Sam Hain breaks the shackles.

Before talking to him last night I forgot how Australian he is, the man who was brought up there, having been born in Hong Kong, before moving to England permanently for his county cricket career.

Well that was an Australian-esque way of dealing with Jack Leach, akin to Steve Smith, shuffling down and punching over mid off for four.

  20. Postpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 24 June

    Leicestershire 437-5 after 97 overs v Glamorgan 353

A slow period as Peter Handscomb and Liam Trevaskis try to ensure they get to 450 and because Sol Budinger and Rehan Ahmed scored such swift centuries, they have time to spare to do so.

Glamorgan's approach has continued to be exactly as all-rounder Zain ul-Hassan said after play last night:

“We tried to keep it simple on such a good wicket with the Kookaburra ball, just tried to be as boring as possible and make the batters come to you.“We’re behind the eight-ball, so we’ve got to come back and show a lot of character, fight hard again. It’ll be a brand new day, so we’ll try to contain the board and put some pressure back on them.”
