  1. new ball

New ballpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 289-2 v Kent 374

Right, Kent have now taken the new ball - that last six from Josh Bohannon may have forced their hand.

Will the new one produce a breakthrough for the visitors?

Joey Evison gets a first go with it.

  2. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 24 June

    Durham 327 v Sussex 361 & 41-3

Off they go at the Riverside.

It's been spitting with rain for a while but that's now become heavier and the umpires call for the covers.

    Sussex lead by 75 runs.

  3. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 288-2 v Kent 374

Josh Bohannon batters Kashif Ali over the square leg rope for six.

Kent have not taken the new ball even though it was available in the last but one over.

This one now needs examining as it hit the concrete from that last shot.

  4. 50 runs

50 for van Beekpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 24 June

    Leicestershire 548-7 v Glamorgan 353

Logan van Beek has upped the ante of late and drives Zain ul Hassan over the top for four to reach 50 off 70 balls.

He has been out there for 89 minutes, with that sixth four added to one six.

The away lead is now 195.

  5. wicket

HAMPSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 453published at 14:45 British Summer Time 24 June

    Jack c Pepper b Cook 1 (Essex 296 v Hants 453)

Sam Cook finds the outside edge of Eddie Jack's bat and that wraps up Hampshire's first innings.

The visitors have a very healthy 157-run lead.

  6. Postpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 24 June

    Gloucs 187 & 174-3 v Derbys 398

Slight hold-up at Bristol where Derbyshire skipper Wayne Madsen needs a bit of treatment to his shoulder - and he is going off.

The ball - which may or may not have flicked the outside edge - lobs up off the keeper's gloves and Madsen twists and dives at first slip to try and grab it only to hyperextend the joint as he lands.

Hopefully he'll be back out there soon.

  7. Postpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 24 June

    Durham 327 v Sussex 361 & 35-3

Sussex are digging in at the Riverside.

The warning lights were flashing at 27-3.

James Coles and Danial Ibrahim may have only added eight runs but it's all about survival at the moment with the odd spit of rain in the air.

    The lead is 69 runs.

  8. 150 runs

150 for Finlay Beanpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 487 v Yorkshire 276-4

Finlay Bean once scored 441 against Nottinghamshire's second XI and he's enjoying himself at a higher level this afternoon.

The Yorkshire opener moves past 150 with a couple through midwicket.

It comes up from 348 balls with 23 fours. Well played.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 24 June

    Abbott c Pepper b Critchley 26 (Essex 296 v Hants 452-9)

Matt Critchley picks up his fourth wicket with a beautiful leg break that spins and finds the outside edge of Kyle Abbott's bat.

Michael Pepper takes the catch and Hampshire are nine down.

  10. new ball

New ballpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 263-5 v Somerset 498

After 93 overs Craig Overton decides Somerset have had their use of the old ball for reverse swing, in fairness since lunch they have bowled well with it, getting Ed Barnard out and having Kai Smith edge a few times.

Josh Davey had one warm up over with the old, as did Matt Henry, the former gets first use of it and a big appeal for lbw on the back pad after a bit of seam movement in is declined.

What the umpire does then do is correctly march them back as there was no way there was a shot played for that to be a valid single taken!

  11. 450 up for Hantspublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 24 June

    Essex 296 v Hants 451-8

Hampshire continue to bat and bat and bat.

Kyle Abbott carves Sam Cook to the boundary twice in two deliveries to take the lead to 155.

  12. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 270-2 v Kent 374

Luke Wells continues to motor for Lancashire as he wallops Wes Agar for a boundary.

A photographer has to just duck out of the way as the ball rebounds off the wall behind him

Wells thrashes another four, this time behind point - he moves to 135 and now 141 as he dumps Agar's final delivery of the over out of the ground and that's also the 100 partnership for the third wicket.

Kent are one over from the new ball.

  13. Postpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 257-5 v Somerset 498

Josh Davey's ankle knock from yesterday is now allowing him to at least try to have his first bowl today after just four overs yesterday.

The now-opening bat is not relied upon to bowl as much now Somerset can pick three seamers and two spinners from 7-11 without him, so he is almost an auxiliary option.

Worth a try though definitely, and Sam Hain chips his first ball between the bowler and short mid on, fortunate to survive that as a dot ball.

Appeal for caught down the leg-side but nothing doing despite the great work from James Rew standing up to the former Scottish international seamer.

  14. NORTHAMPTONSHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 24 June

    Northants 435 v Middlesex 413

    Justin BroadImage source, Rex

Toil no more, stout bowlers of Middlesex - time for thy rest.

Justin Broad gives himself room but then offers no more than a defensive prod at a ball from Sam Robson which turns just enough to beat the edge and bowl him.

Northamptonshire's first innings comes to an end in the 126th over - and they lead by 22 - following the 85-run stand between Broad and Lloyd Pope.

Left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar has final figures of 5-121 for the visitors.

  15. Division Two updatepublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 24 June

Northamptonshire's last-wicket pair are still together at Wantage Road. Justin Broad (70*) and Lloyd Pope (11) have added 85 and this is a club record for the 10th wicket against Middlesex - beating 76 by George Tribe and Michael Dilley in 1959.

A wicket has fallen at Bristol where Gloucestershire's Miles Hammond was caught sweeping off Alex Thomson for 44. Cameron Bancroft is 77 not out - the pair sharing a stand of 87 - and has now been joined by Graeme van Buuren. The home side are 163-3, still 48 behind.

  16. 250 runs

250 up for Yorkshirepublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 24 June

    Notts 487 v Yorkshire 257-4

Jonny Bairstow batting for YorkshireImage source, Rex Features

This is such a good batting track at Trent Bridge.

Jonny Bairstow and Finlay Bean look untroubled and there's a long conversation between Haseeb Hameed and Dillon Pennington about how they break this partnership.

  17. One batting bonus point for the Bearspublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 255-5 v Somerset 498

Sublime cover drive from Sam Hain for four, though surprising that we have not seen more from that so far in his 104 balls faced.

Followed up by another Migael Pretorius no ball - this is getting silly now, 25 extras already donated by Somerset this innings.

  18. Batting point for Lancashirepublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 24 June

    Lancs 250-2 v Kent 374

A flashing drive through backward point off Grant Stewart brings Luke Wells another boundary and Lancashire reach 250 in the 76th over of their innings. The partnership with Josh Bohannon is now worth 83 and Wells has 124 not out.

  19. Postpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 24 June

    Warwickshire 249-5 v Somerset 498

Loose drive from Kai Smith who gets that past the two slips through a vacant fifth slip area for four.

The Bears are one away from a batting bonus point now of course, but that was anything but convincing from the youngster.

It seemed harder to drop than hold onto it.

He's still on his knees wondering how he's done that, Paul Walter.
